The Gurung community celebrates Tamu Lhochhar (Gurung New Year) around Poush 15 (usually December 30th). The small Gurung community living around Seattle area has been celebrating the Gurung Lhochhar since couple of years back. This year we have formed a non profit organization called "Northwest Tamu (Gurung) Society" to unite all the Gurungs living in Washington State, Oregon State and British Columbia (Canada) and to preserve/promote Gurung culture, language and tradition. We are organizing this event in bigger scale with authentic Gurung and Nepali culture & hospitality, delicious Nepali food and DJ entertainment!
