Topic: To be or not to be an immigrant Addressing pressing US immigration issues for Nepalese living/traveling in the US Speaker: Khagendra GC, Esq; Attorney at Law; Chettry & Associates, PC; New York Date: June 8, Sunday (Note: changed from June 7 Saturday) Time: 11:00AM-12:30PM Location: Dudley House, Harvard University Synopsis: Khagendra GC will give a brief outline of basic immigration laws relevant to Nepalese living and traveling in the US with or without the intention of immigrating. He will talk about some pressing issues in the present post-9/11 context and the different categories of benefits including how to avoid future violation and what to do when problems arise. This will be followed by Q&A. People with personal questions may meet with him briefly after the talk. Speaker: Khagendra G.C. Khagendra G.C. received LL. M. from Columbia University School of Law and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law, NYC. He is the first Nepali to be a member of an American Bar and has been a member of NY State Bar since 1987. He has also been admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, and has worked for the NYC Human Rights Commission as its Assistant General Counsel.
