Dear Family and Friends,

I am Shailesh Munankarmi, an undergraduate student at Harvard University. Having lived in the United States and worked at Charlies’ Kitchen for about six years, I am going back to my home country-Nepal- in the spring of 2009 for two months and would like to give back to the community from which I came.

I plan on donating 100 of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program’s XO computers to children in Nepal. In collaboration with Help Nepal Network Inc (Tax ID – 000860078) and OLPC Nepal, I intend to raise US$20,000; then distribute laptops to the children in villages of Nepal. To raise the funds, Helen Metros, Paul Overgaag, Jaap Overgaag, and I will have a fund raising event, OLPC for Nepal, at the Red House Restaurant. We plan on having as many as 125 guests.
