Frens, my h1b is expiring in a month, and although my employer had agreed to renew it now they are saying they will not renew it. So at this point what are my options? I'm thinking of transferring h1b to another company. Does anybody know a company thats willing to transfer h1b? Please help. thanks in advance.

Problem 101 U know why there are more than 100 views and there are not even a single suggestion even though you have a short time left to maintain your status? B'coz you did not mention:- where r u located? what is your qualification? H1B visa holders are qualified people and should act accordingly.

u can change to student visa to university that gives CPT and continue working but what is the reason that they are not extending your extension?

thank you gohtalo, do you know if i'll be out of status while waiting for change of status from h1b to f1? the reason is prevailing wage went up and they are not willing to pay the new prevailing wage.

I think you will be legal when your case is being processed if you file in time i mean before your H1B status expiry date but in case they deny you then you might be illegal.But again you will have appeal chances.So my suggestion to you will be 1)find job with another h1b sponsor which is very challenging looking at your time line but finically it might be the best options since u don't want to pay thousands of dollars to university since u already have got one and earned the job with it 2)Apply for I-20 immediately to the colleges that gives OPT and file AOS(i539 adjustment of states)
Also if you maintain some status you will always have options of going back to H1B and work since you will have plenty of time to research the job and look for sponsorship than continue working on assignments in university

Hi problem101. Sorry to hear your situation like that. Here are some information which might be helpful for you also to all other students in same situation. Few colleges in california which provides CPT from the first day you join. And also they provide online courses from first semester. There is some fees for CPT i heard around $1200. Again if you are looking for maintaining your status this might be ok college.I dont know about quality of education. for more information please visit their website.
