Was curious if I could be a part-time student using TPS. Has anyone done it? Any advice would be appreciated.

You can but you would violate F1 status.

talk to your DSO... they will be your best bet and get any/all of the criteria you settle on in writing. There have been mixed guidance and schools interpret their policies differently.
