What if is an infinite subject matter, it has never ending loop and philosophy. In Sanskrit literature like  Upanisad , raamaayan , mahaabhaarat , learned Bhramhin  explained atomic and nuclear war fare. What if they tried to see if it is possible ? It did not happen. That is  past and  limited to a story only.
In reality what if means nothing , Nada.

His demise was a pure loss and it is readable story.
