 TPS to F1 after one year of SEVIS termination

Is it possible to go back to F1 from TPS if your SEVIS was terminated more than a year ago? Has anyone gone through this process before?. As I have been reading that only F1 reinstatement is possible for the cases not exceeding 5 months.

If you have a really good and valid reason for not reinstating that long, it should be fine. I will suggest you to find a really good reason with some kind of paperwork to prove (like your mom was really sick or even bigger issue). Good Luck.
