Dollars for Scholars Scholarship The Fall 2014 Dollars for Scholars will be available April 1st. Eligibility requirements: Fall 2014 is first semester as a UHCL graduate student or first semester as a non-resident undergraduate Must enroll in a minimum of 6 UHCL credit hours each semester Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (as recalculated by UHCL) Must have UHCL Admissions Application on file Must have paid Admission Application fee Must have a UHCL identification number Admission to UHCL is NOT required to apply, but you MUST be unconditonally admitted by the final deadline to be considered for an award. Dollars for Scholars is a competitive scholarship based on 3 criteria: exceptional merit date of unconditional admit date of scholarship application How to Apply for Dollars for Scholars Scholarship (PDF) Deadline Fall Priority Deadline is April 15/Final Deadline is May 15 Award: The initial award is $500 for fall 2014 and $500 for spring 2015. Non-Texas Residents and International students who receive the DFS are eligible to pay Texas resident tuition for the academic year of the award which is fall 2014, spring 2015, summer 2015. DFS is renewable for 2 additional semesters If renewed, the student will be awarded $500 for fall 2015 and $500 for spring 2016. In addition, renewal students will be eligible to continue paying resident tuition for fall 2015, spring 2016, and summer 2016. Renewal criteria is Continue to enroll in at least 6 credit hours each semester. Student must also maintain academic good standing and a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Scholarships are available for new students pursuing masters in MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM for 2 academic years. "Dollars for Scholars" is automatic renewable as you fulfill GPA requirement. Scholarship recipients are eligible for in-state tuition fees for 2 academic years. UHCL is among few Universities that offers MIS program that falls in STEM category. Consequently, if you are an international student, the MS/MIS graduate degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake qualifies you for 29 months of practical training period in the US.
