Situation of Nepal is getting worse everyday due to corrupt politicians. Sometimes I feel like Nepal will be better off as an Indian territory. What do you thik?

All Nepali leaders are purchased by India : they are acting on it. May be sooner or later it going to happen. As the population of Indian origin going up and will become the majority: they may demand to be a state of India.
MaGorkhe1 · Apr 29, 2013 11:03 AM
If Nepal becomes an indian territory then the Nepalese Rupees will cease to exist. I think we are better off saving in dollars.
Patan · Apr 29, 2013 11:14 AM
The best option would be to be a far flung state of USA. USA would only be too happy with this proposal. Imagine the great developmental activities that would take place here at the same time preserving our cultural identity. To a lesser extent joining India would be a great solution also. Sikkim is a wonderful state, beautiful and good law and order. Nepal could be same. India has much more money than Nepal. By joining India, as a state, Nepal will be able to preserve her cultural identity without being racist, much like Sikkim does. Otherwise slowly more and more indians will take up citizenship in Terai and they will eventually become majority, thus even as an independent country, it will be a mini India anyways. Nepal can never educate her people, uplift poverty nor fend for herself in a crisis. I know. I know. Hami gorkhali ho hamro maato blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.......this dialogue does not feed people. IT is time that Nepalis realise that we are failed country.
freedom2012 · Apr 29, 2013 11:37 AM
@ FREEDOM Why don't you STFU ? I know you are a cosmopolitan and global citizen ( sadly carrrying nepali passport, i guess) but all the nepalese people are not advanced like you. Many of them still love Nepal as an independent country and can stay poorer happily than being an indian. I know most of the commentor including OP of this thread are bahuns except patan ( i guess) as I have heard same lines from bahun people since I was in school. Who is responsible for [Disallowed String for - bad word]ed up state on nepal? Koirala, Dahal, nepal, khanal, bhattarai, Pokhrel, etc right??? Why don't these people quit politics on which they already proved themselves that they suck. If you think Sikkim is better because of her assimilation in india why don't you migrate and settle to india, the place you guys originally belong to? Nepal will be a good country provided all the corrupt people are out of her. Jasle nepal nirman ko lagi ek thopa ragat bagako chaina tyasta mujji haru le garne ho yasto kura.....
gORKHEcOWBoY · Apr 29, 2013 5:52 PM
@ cowboy, Nepal nirman ko lagi ragat haina, paisa bagaunu parcha. Ragat ta prachanda le dherai bagayo ni saathi, khai Nepal ko halat jhan worse bhayo ta?. You are right about politicians and their caste but how can you prove that any other caste would have done better?. Many people if given a chance between a better life and Nepal will choose a better life. That is why people go middle, west.....in hope to get a better life. They will return to Nepal and live a better life. So you are wrong that people would prefer misery over a better life. You speak for a minority of these khukuri wielding, khatra dialogue mouthing group of Nepalis who have nothing better to do than inciting violence. The good thing about being educated that we are able to think. Use our brain to find a good solution for a problem. This is what the OP is thinking. And i am thinking. You may not agree with it but stop telling lies that people in Nepal prefer misery over a better life. You can die for "maato" let others find a better life and solution. IF you like Nepal maato so much go and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and give your rice to the hungry.

@freedom Why don't you change your profile name to slave? Word freedom does not suit you. Are you a son/ daughter of a puppet of India who is insisting to sell self-existence? So you are only the educated person that can think, huh?? You have the real problem of superiority. So mato does not mean anything rite? Did you use to have mato in breakfast, lunch and dinner? And having your own country is the matter of mato only, right? Where did you learn this? I am not talking about that thug son of a gun bastard prachande. Don't you think establishment of nepal as a country costed lives of so many nepalese? If ceding to India is only solution why our ancestors sacrificed their lives? Do you think they were idiots? What if after annexing to india nepal becomes another Orrissa, or andhra pradesh or many [Disallowed String for - bad word]ed up states in the northeast? Can you guarantee Nepal will be a flourished country after merge? It's all the matter of how you are raised, my friend. Many of us still can't exchange our pride with money India gives. I can understand you come from a very obliged background so you do not know the meaning of what it takes to be independent.

@ cowboy, Nepal being landlocked is also another reason that Nepal cannot progress much. And our equidistant policy also will always confuse us as half politicians will favour India, other half favour China. We are caught in this power struggle also. There are other world players present in Nepal. Thus overall making Nepal ghar ko na ghat ko. You talk of Nepal unification but the instituition which unified Nepal has already been kicked out. So much for respecting the unification of Nepal. Ordinary people simply want to eat and sleep and have a comfortable life. I do not know about Orissa but i am sure people there have more hospitals, more schools, cheaper food, etc. Anyways, i know maato loving nepali people will never allow this. They care more about the maato than upliftment of poverty. Who cares if a person in the hills dies because of lack of hospital or proper road or lack of food as long as there is maato and independent country called Nepal. Right?. Go and tell them to keep on waiting for a successful Nepal. Meanwhile as most Nepalis suffer, guys like you will always remain happy because Nepal is independent country. Hurray.

I agree with Freedom2012, Nepal needs to be a part of USA or territory. The reason Nepal is [Disallowed String for - bad word]ed up is due to Bahun Chetri politicians who r loyal to India n who likes to speak hindi n promote Hindi movies n musics. Look at Bhutan they chased all Nepali Bhutanese mostly Bahun Chetris who were Hindus n now their country is developed. I don't want Nepal to be taken by China either. gorikopoi is absolutely right, had they been there, they'd have completely corrupted the sytem over the course of time. Bhutan accepted them until they started politics, bombblasting and Bhutan knew if they allow them, they would become another Nepal or some rotten country. These very few bhutaness of nepalese origin(of course mostly are indian origin in history) were the most demented criminals who turn to violence to meet their demand. And, all those others had to suffer at the end being refugees thrown out of the country. Though it's bit too much as from human rights perspective bhutan did best for it's interest. I would like Nepal to be the part of China than India but chances are Nepal will be merged to India because of cultural similarities. One day, if people are treated well, they'll sing songs for new ruler, that's how the mentality of normal citizens. Before Prithivi Narayan, citizens were under different rulers and they're happily living under their reigns, and unification happened and citizens lived happily living under new reign. If Nepal is merged, and development skyrockets and people are treated well, who the hell will raise the voice against new govt, albeit those few anti-social criminals acting up could not be disregarded

Real question is why would any country be it India or any other country want to take Nepal as their state. There is a reason why British never came after Nepal. We all think its because we were 'strong ' but part of the reason is Nepal has nothing to offer . Nobody is looking for headaches besides getting more territorial land etc was the old way that's not how countries think of power now and based on how our politicians behave Nepal is already a part of India believe it or not. As you all know nothing happens in Nepal without indian support. An ambassador of India to Nepal can summon all the ministers and prime minister whenever he she desires. All the politicians go to India for "pilgrimage". Maoists lived in India while brainwashing people about how they are against India and USA. It's all a game.

Nepal would not do better off as a state of India.. I being a "BAHUN" do not want nepal to be annexed to India.Reason being Nepal borders UP and bihar worst states of India.. That being said people here are stereotyping bahuns for not being able to do anything despite being in power.... Yatro educated vayera yasto naive kura garna yaha sajha ko mitra haruley chai suhaudaina....aru jaat ko lai kasley rokeko thiyo ra power ma jana ko lagi..bahun and chetry combine ma percentage wise herney ho vaney 26% cha....baki 74% aru jaat ko cha....you mean to say 26% bahun ra chetry 74% lai con garyo ani power ma gayoo...what a lame thing to talk about... gorikopoi.. i think rather than stereotyping and putting a blunt allegations on bahuns and chetrys try and see the history who sold most of the Nepal's teritory to India..was it bahun or then kings(not bahun) who were so scared of their life that they chose to give up...everyone had a fair chance and the people who were "NOT BAHUNS" were not smart enough to go up in power...At least our kings thought so who apparently was not bahun as well... Oh yes i forgot "IS IT BAHUNS and CHETRYs who go and fight for INDIAN ARMY enchanting Indian anthem?I heard that 99% of Nepali recruits in Indian army are of mongolian Nepalese...Also if you really want to stereotype most of the "NON BAHUNs and CHETRYS " go to India and work as watchmen and you are under the impression that BAHUNS are trying to sell our country to India whereas people of your "CASTE \" are being faithful to India.. I think the only people who would sell Nepal to India would be NON BAHUNS provided their faithfulness with India.I doubt they would fight against Nepal... i think you have forgotten about tibet...if nepal gets annexed to china..it will be a communist state and hence no freedom..it will be another tibet...... May be "NON BAHUNS" are hardworking thats why NON BAHUNS are the most educated groups in Nepal and hence they are getting the right opportunities.... Every people who were born and raised in Nepal is Nepali..don't try and go back in the history and try and pull up where bahuns come from..If that is the case alll human beings originated from Africa..that way we all are africans....

I think if Nepal was really on sale, it would sell like a hotcake. Namely 2 reasons. 1)water resources 2)geographical position. USA would be the first country to respond. USA always seeks geographical advantage. Which better country than Nepal to keep an eye on China, India and Pakistan. Within 10-20 years, USA will make Nepal into a 1st world country. Others countries will show respect towards the new nepalese americans. No more bullying. No more dirty politics. Population less than 3 crores, in less than 2 decades there will be 100% literacy rate, even the most remotest of location will be linked, hospitals, schools, etc. Buddha would have been born in USA. Mount Everest would be in USA. No campaign is needed. We would be the 52nd state of USA after Puerto Rico joins in before us. We will not get as much with india but there will be considerable reduction in poverty. As an indian state, we could make it illegal for people from other states to reside or live in New Nepal. There will be a lot of investments coming in. Perhaps this new nepal could join with sikkim, darjeeling to make a Greater Nepal state within india. This state will have only 2-3 crore population, we will be the richest state of india. And the safest in 10-20 years. China would be an option also but China is well know for not giving freedom and suppressing people. So China is out until she improves her image. I am freedom2012 and i approve this message.

Should there be apocalyptic scenario , say massive Apophis Asteroid hit our planet in coming year 2032, say it hit the mediterranean region around equator, do you really think, being of certain nation will save you from catastrophe? so why all this fuss. We belong to this planet, whereever we're treated better, we have a choice to go there, How can we be traitors when our only wish is to be in better place? Isn't our only reason of existence is to be happy? Introspect yourself, every single move in your entire life is geared to become happy and SHOULD be to make other happy. Few things in my opinion, Nepal will never be taken by India or USA, namely because of China being in close proximity and China will never take over Nepal either because of India and USA influence. Having said that why would anyone want to take over Nepal? what is the ROI that will justify waging a war to takeover Nepal? India will never annex Nepal because they know that is not going to be fruitful for them, they have learned their lesson from sikkim and mizoram/manipur headache. They are already influencing Nepal's policies by pressuring the ruling party, whether it is maoist, congress, monarchs or otherwise by dictating the policies that favor them so why even bother? ultimately our geographical location forces us to comply with them and there is very little we can do and they very well know this. In that regards India has already taken over Nepal, modern day occupation of a foreign country does not involve forceful takeover, rather it involves creation of policies that favors one's nation as much as possible without having to shed a single drop of blood.

Wow I didn't expect this much response since it was only a rhetoric question. Because as we know it, it is highly unlikely that India will be directly able to take over another sovereign country in this day and age. But as couple of you have pointed, India does not need to take over Nepal because India already has pretty much full control over Nepal be it social, cultural or political. Inspite of us marvelling at our bravery and being blessed with Mount everest and buddha birthplace, India has always held control over the socio-political aspect of Nepal. Some of us responding here have lived out of Nepal for sometime so we have different experience in evaluating patriotic sense with common sense. We grew up being fed propaganda text books extolling the greatness of our ancestors and our kings thus holding us captive in our deepest mind to burn that unflickering candle of patriotism within us. Brainwashed to find great value on a giant piece of stone and the luck of birth of Buddha, our sense of false pride has constituted our ego for lack of anything else major or worthy of being proud. Some of us have recently left Nepal in search of better opportunities and the years of brainwashing of false greatness is still there so we will try to hold on to the insignificant hollow pride. After becoming the so called 'global citizen' one has to recognize the essence of freedom of choice which brought you out of Nepal in the first place. Of course you have emotional connections but you chose to leave it all behind but you still have enormous pride for being a Nepali and it is engraved in your ego. But as a practical person, if someone ask what you are proud of then there is no achievement or anything else you can say besides the overused mountain and the buddha. Perhaps instead of holding on to the hollow pride, we can move on as a whole and accept the truth and the reality that Nepal is a failed state created by the greed of politicians who mostly come from poor underpriviledged upbringing and continue the cycle of the neverending downward spiral. It is difficult to imagine what would stop this process. Have any of you thought what would actually stop this cycle of corruption and greed?

dolphin you probably cannot distinguish between the person who gave you birth and the place of your birth. The place of birth is a man made restriction as far as border of land while a mother is someone who gave you birth by keeping you in her womb for 9 months. There is no comparision to mother and place of birth. You may be brainwashed by things like mother and motherland blah blah but motherland is nothing but the ground where people have put border around calling their country. My motherland is the earth. I am not restricted by any borders in my head and I feel sorry for narrow minded people like you who can't think beyond their own restrictive borders in your brain that somebody else have set for you.

If one were to do a study on any Nepalese who says "I am proud to be Nepalese", you will find that these people come from middle class or the upper class, who will not suffer no matter how long it takes for Nepal to be a success. So they have all the patience. They form 10% of Nepal's population. I also belong to this 10% who can afford to wait for a successful Nepal. But is this about the 10% or the 90% who really struggle from day to day to make ends meet, struggle for proper healthcare, struggle for almost everything that one should not struggle for to function as a human being in an ordinary life. Why should this 90% keep on waiting?. They are the ones to suffer and always wait and wait. Who are we the 10% to always decide for them to wait. What if you belonged to that 90% needing food, shelter, healthcare, job, etc?. Would you still have that patience to wait?. Why should they even wait 1 minute, let alone wait for yonks. If i were president of Nepal, i had do the most Anti National thing. Call for a referendum to be ruled by white people (USA). At least this 90% will see some relief. Even joining India is a great idea that i would discuss with my kitchen cabinet. IF this is done in a legal way, UN will have no issues. Puerto Rico is also contemplating joining USA and could be a reality of the near future. In fact Mitt Romney had shown them the green light. Noone can do anything if this is done legally and it is high time that educated Nepali youngsters got together to put forward anti national ideas which could benefit the 90% citizens of Nepal. This is serious!. Vote for USA of Vote for India in such a referendum. Anything that is better for this 90% of Nepalese, is worth it for giving up this concept of independent Nepal. If being a lengdup dorje is beneficial to this 90%, long live lengdup dorje and his shenanigans!

It seems like there are two types of Nepalis. The first kind has a constant need to feel connected to something to feel important. So they will connect themselves to their caste, nationality and national pride. The second kind have been sort of liberated, if you will, to see a broader picture of life. This is what I have seen in many discussions about being Nepali.

Really good read: http://nepalitimes.com/blogs/k... "The favorite Nepali past-time is not to gamble at cards, it is to find nasty things to say about each other. Of course, not all Nepalis are like that but the loudest, most privileged, best educated and most well off among us just can’t bear to see fellow-Nepalis get ahead."

@giordano, am not trying to change your view. Sorry if I sounded so, I was infact hoping for goodness in the quality of Nepalese people's life. And, for me, it seems at the moment, only merger could solve this crisis. There was no Nepal, when Buddha was born, and there was no Nepal when Mt Everest stood tall during all these Earth's geographical changes which took place eons ago. I simply don't understand what all this drama is for. Probably, it's the media hogwash who deliberately played songs and videos of how dearly their land is to them. Thats how they do it in China, thats how they do it in North Korea, India and Nepal and so many others. I don't blame you. I just think little out of the box. Feel sorry for them who are still in it. @rethink, you hit the nail, thanks for great and pinpoint analysis. @nepaluk, I don't know if I should call few of these braindead trolls, actually 'braindead' but the bitter reality of todays' world is that majority of the population of Earth are such, ...no wonder there is no peace on Earth. It's cause of such brainwashed bunch, there are wars and violences everywhere who would kill/die for the sake of invisible fake beliefs or for their own selfishness. I feel regret instead of getting angered at, when I read their limited mental capacity to think and how they express.

dolphin who are you kidding that things are not bad? part of it is you are in denial about how bad things really are in Nepal for all the people less privileged than you. Why do you see a constant unending line of Nepali men and women standing to get an opportunity to work abroad? why do you see so many nepalese kids going abroad? why do you see people filing for residency in foreign land? if things had been an ounce better then people should have been flocking back. The reality is things are not better for anyone in Nepal, people have now accepted this dishearteningly dire situation as the new norm. As soon as the small percentage of privileged people get into their gated compounds and in the security of their homes they forget about the gloomy existence of the world outside that most people are facing everyday.

Most of people who are barking here about indian takeover should be working in indian resturant or dhoti's gas station. Common guys, we get paid because of your hard work, you are not required to be indian bootlicker. Have little self respect and respect your work. How can you people write such an idiotic crap like nepal should be annexed by india or china or america? Looks like you people are okay to sell your mom or sister to anyone if you get something better. Or selling your ass hole for money to your dhoti masters. What is that bullcrap land and mom are not same? For many people motherland is still like your mom. Have you guys ever been to darjeeling or deharadun or even sikkim? How well is the living condition of people of nepali origin and their takepart in the politics and policy making level? Do you guys prefer being a slave who entertains all the worldy means of entertainment, luxury etc? I don't blame anyone for writing such a bullcrap. We are being purposedly driven to write such lines by our leaders funded by india or some other countries. And they are getting successful on that. I clearly forsee India is not going to takeover nepal. All india wants is a fully puppet Nepal, full control over defense, foreign policy, and all the resources. Even if india takes over, somehow, Nepal will be a hell like Afghanistan and she will be a pain in the hairy dhoti ass coz many people will still chose to die as nepali than being an indian. I recently went back home and found things have improved quite a bit except the law and order. If i am not wrong this utter chaos will not last longer if we have a few good and visionary leaders. So wait, do not panic. If educated and learned people like us start thinking like this we'll be getting nowhere even if we are annexed to usa or japan. Coz it's fugitivism. Stop being losers folks. To validate your statement could you provide me some supporting evidence, please? In the beginning I though you may be right, then I decided to check wheather Nepal is really getting worse or not I found evidence which contradict your claim. data no. 1 Trasparancy international's corruption index China ---------------------China is getting worse in corruption ranking in last 5 yrs In 2008-----70 in 2011------75 in 2012------80 India ------------------has remained almost same in last 5 yrs in 2008-----96 in 2011-----95 in 2012-----94 Nepal ---------Has remained almost same in last 5 yrs in 2008----138 in 2011----154 in 2012----139 Compared to India our ranking is not good but India has not made any progress either. As it is, India will not let Nepal develop. If Nepal develops, Nepal will automatically incline towards China, which they don't want. 1) India started the Maoist war 2) India started the Madhes movement and started handing out citizenships to Biharis, Bangalis and Pakistanis 3) India is trying to incite racial violence in Nepal by instigating Janajatis, Tharus and Madhesis. 4) India doesn't facilitate trade with Nepal in anyway and always slaps two way tarrifs on Nepali exports. India's long term goal is to capture Nepal's resources and make it a huge market for Indian goods. I think Nepal should join the Indian Union as well. In today's globalized society, country and nationalism have no value. The only thing that matters in capital and resources.

Do remember that indian population is almost 1.3 billion so there is no comparison with Nepal at just 2-3 crores. They have done leaps and bounds better if you consider their population. Being part of India as a state is not being India itself as each state have their own resources and strategies. A state with less than 3 crore population would fare much better than other states. Nepal as a state would just need the money that India will have to offer and could possibly even be lending money to other states in 20 years. There is a huge potential in Nepal but we need heaps and heaps of investment and also being landlocked has put us at a great disadvantage. Nepal thus could become the hongkong of India. the possibility is there, the potential is there. I am all for this merger. I mean of course i prefer USA foremost. :)

You have to remember the population of India 1.3 billion, despite that she is part of BRICs nation. If Nepal becomes part of India, a lot of money will be poured in by indian investors. Nepal will get access to all the resources of India. You seem to be unable to differentiate between a state and a country. How many of those open defecation is done by say people of Sikkim?. How many malnourished in Sikkim?. How many homicide in Sikkim?. Here I am talking about economic success and there you are talking about defecation. Are all your posts also part of that defecation?. Also take note Nepal rupees pegged at 1.60 to indian rupees is only beneficial to Nepal. If India did not agree to that, imagine what would happen to Nepal when indian economy is among the top.

Freedom Where did you visit in Sikkim? Do you think Sikkim is way better than Nepal? Proabably you visited Gangtok which is a small but beautiful hill station. What about BUSTI ? Have you lately visited Ilam? Life is not bad in Ilam either. Cash crops like aduwa, alaichi, kucho, milk etc have revolutionized and metamorphosized people's life in Ilam. IMO, rural Ilam or jhapa is better than rural Sikkim. And cities in sikkim like Gangtok, Singtam, Geyzing, Namchi, etc are not different than mid sized nepalese eastern nepalse towns like Dhulabari, Birtamode, Ilam or dharan. Please do not try to show sikkim as way better than Nepal. I know many Sikkimese migrating to eastern Nepal being from that place, FYI: My mawal is in Sikkim so visited and stayed there so many times for months and visited many remote places too in northern sikkim which is no different than Manag or mustang. NALAPANI · Apr 30, 2013 10:44 PM
lolz @ nalapani, did i use sikkim as an economic trumpcard?. Of course Nepal is more beautiful without any doubt. I meant to use Sikkim to highlight the fact that they are not malnourished there, good law and order, did not see anyone defecate openly there. More to highlight that a state can fix itself. Of course I love Nepal. Is it wrong to think of a better economic pathway for Nepal?. I am not anti-national my friend. I am pro human and i it is wrong that 90% Nepalese still suffer. For a country with a mere 2-3 crore people, there is simply no excuse for this. The only reason why Nepal is like this is because we have failed as a country. What is use of being independent when all politicians head to Delhi?. Is Delhi in NEpal?. Honestly ask yourself, isnt Nepal one farce of a country?. Do you know the meaning of sovereignty?. Once you lose this, you lose independence.

I did not want to write anything in this thread, but some of the comments are so irritating that i could not stop myself. Keeping aside the question of whether you put some value on being a citizen of independent country or not (BTW, the idea of Global Citizen is completely different, i am for it if nobody is discriminated in any way in any country- so the ideal situation will be no need of passport and visa to travel around, just an ID), most of the time the countries may benefit by forming a union. That may be proved using a theoretical model, but you can't test the theory using modern time data anymore as countries are disintegrating. For those who are using example of Sikkim ( and himachal ?) etc, look at Indian states such as Jharkhand and Assam which are almost as big as Nepal interms of population. You can not dream of restricting the flow of Biharis and UPians as does Sikkim once you become an Indian state. State of Nepal will not be in a position as is Sikkim, because we already have almost 40% (?) people from madesh origin. Do'nt tell people that Nepal will become a hill station like Darjeeling and himachal pradesh, they were established during British Raj. All you can expect is that you will have to fight with cunning bihari and upians to keep you alive.

Guys, If a mere insignificant post flares tempers to such extent that we start humiliating one another and none other than our own fellow Nepalese, we should be ashamed of calling ourselves educated individuals. The original poster has long disappeared and the onlookers find it ludicrous that you guys are keeping on bickering, it only tells us one thing, we are no better than those Maoists who fly off the handle turn aggressive without a convincing cause. Agreed, our Nepali pride is unparalleled, our condition love for our nation is sky high and our patriotism is beyond bounds, but there are times we need to pause and listen thoughtfully to the fellow posters before escalating our blood pressures. Evidently the term ‘India’ is a taboo among us Nepalese, we all know that. Whether or not a person of Kerala or Manipur is aware of the Indian hegemony over Nepal, we are quick to point a finger that a ‘dhoti’ is more than eager to take our land away. Whether or not that is a puerile judgement, I do not know. However, people who used foul languages and called a fellow Nepalese a slave just because his ideas were different than them makes me cringe. Please understand that just because an anonymous poster ‘wonders’ if Nepal could have been better if it were a part of India, or Thailand or Australia for that matter it doesn’t mean he is unpatriotic, it was a mere question, not a decree. Now, what bothers me the more is some individuals relentlessly keep somersaulting back in the thread with their five minute research when they could have left long time ago and saved the day. But what bothers me MOST is some individuals replying on the same thread with multiple usernames just because they cannot prove their point effectively with one pseudonym. That is taking the argument to a different level and playing with others’ sentiments. That just smells, even from a troll’s standpoint. You know exactly who I am talking about. Insecurity, narcissism, personality disorder maybe? No disrespect for that individual, but I do not see a value in doing so. I hate to bring this up, but there was a user with multiple nicknames in some time ago and his tenure in sajha didn’t end well. I hate to see that happen again to a fellow sajhaite. It is a free site, we all know, but if someone keeps posting in every single thread and with multiple usernames, it gets a little creepy, even when he or she is not aggressive. Further, it mars his/her credibility as a poster and integrity as a visitor as a whole. My two cents: Let it go, it already has been a long night, and we all hate to read the rant of the same individual over and over again. With this note, I’d like to say goodnight, I will never reply on this thread anymore. Time to curse me now??

underscore _____ The amount of copy and paste job you have done is absurd here. All I was doing was musing about whether Nepalis would be better off as far as corrupt politicians if it was an Indian territory. I said India because it's the closest neighbor and they seem to be minding our business all the time. If I was to wish anyone to take over Nepal then I would find out about the indexes you were so generously copy pasting and choose the best country in the world, but that would be wishful thinking. Imagine I had said the best country (according to you copy paste indexes) should take over Nepal because too many Nepalese people are suffering, then what would be your answer? Forget about india ok? Nepaluk, I also thought so in the beginning but when you went on saying “ But as a practical person, if someone ask what you are proud of then there is no achievement or anything else you can say besides the overused mountain and the Buddha.” And “Perhaps instead of holding on to the hollow pride, we can move on as a whole and accept the truth and the reality that Nepal is a failed state created by the greed of politicians who mostly come from poor underprivileged upbringing and continue the cycle of the never-ending downward spiral.” Then again you replied to dolphin saying “I am not restricted by any borders in my head and I feel sorry for narrow minded people like you who can't think beyond their own restrictive borders in your brain that somebody else have set for you.” which implies directly or indirectly how great you are and how minuscule others who do not agree with your perception All these replies indicate you were serious about your thread and it was not just musing around, then only I decided to post But now when I loaded the thread with facts you again came in and post “just musing around” My friend, what if I too say “hey nepaluk, I too was just teasing you. thought thread was not worth writing something by myself so had to copy and paste facts from other sources till you come out of your cubicle” And you did my friend You see ppl can answer many ways. And why my pasting is absurd for you? Just happy reading own posting or what? “Imagine I had said the best country (according to you copy paste indexes) should take over Nepal because too many Nepalese people are suffering, then what would be your answer? Forget about India ok?” Lol, that is a hypothetical question, you haven’t asked yet, just imagination. I will answer when you ask “It seems like you are supporting Nepal being taken over by another country that is better off.” You assume too much man, don’t be so assumptive You stressed so much on Nepal “not achieving” and “corrupt politicians” but you missed the fact that if compared, India also “hasn’t achieved”. And politicians there too are corrupt. Last edited: 01-May-13 10:06 AM

underscore _______ If you go back and look at the first post, I was 'wondering' how it would affect corruption if Nepal was a Indian territory, that was a musing unless you will now convert the definition of musing with your cut and paste proofs. But later as I saw people posting different opinions I posted my opinion about how the situation of Nepal sucks big time and that borders are man made and I don't justify restrictive ideologies and false pride on objects. My response in no way gave any importance to India after the initial musing. But it seems like you are hell bent on taking my musings to a level of paranoia that you are hell bent on proving when the world knows how poor India is as a whole as far as the slums and poverty. Mr cut paste warrior, we know how India sucks ok? If I really wanted Nepal to be taken over, then I would have wanted it to be take over by the best country in the world. So in your expert opinion, would Nepal be better off it was taken over by the best country in the world?

Freedom, I was just clearing some of the misunderstanding you have about Sikkim since you were trying to show Sikkim like switzerland. To add more, Sikkim does not have industries (except Rangpo based Sikkim Distillery). Majority of population is still dependent on traditional agriculture. So, how can you claim Sikkim is way better than Nepal? Yes, you are right Law and order is good. We were also not bad few years ago and I don't think this lawlessness will last forever. OK, I admit India is a great nation, probably super power of future. But still I do not see merging to India as a workable solution. We do not need to annex to india to be next Sikkim. No huge difference between Sikkim and Nepal as per my observation. Even if I agree with you as Sikkim is a great great place, I see more chance of Nepal being next Kashmir after annexation to union of india, not Sikkim. This is not hypothesis my friend, it's reality. Do you think level of consciousness of Nepalese people is same as Sikkimese back in 70's? Have a good day! we all know nepal is an insignificant puppet nation that india pulls the strings on, we can sit here and discuss all we want and show our national pride and say we are not their bitch, but in the end are we not? in my opinion, it's almost feels like they have a lasso around our throat that they can tighten or loosen whenever they feel necessary and we can't do anything about it but say buddha was born in nepal....laughable and sad.
