I feel that Di Shobha is unnecessarily dragged into controversy by this news. I watched the clip (her interview on phone). I don't think there is any reason that Dil Shobha needs to misuse the money. It might have been that her assistants from Nepal may have requested her to bring those gadgets from Korea. So she used the money to buy those that would be compensated by her assistants in Nepal.

I don't see any misuse here. She spent her own money for needy's before getting funds from others so now if she gets any fund thats hers n she literally used that money for office use, laptops n cells for employees. She didn't use the money to buy drugs or booze or lavish party so I think this thread don't even make sense. Hope all Nepali mothers be like Dil Shova ji.

What dilshova is doing is very noble.
I applaud her efforts and salute her.
Sure she has no education (even though educated people won't have the courage to do what she's doing) but her employees know Samsung galaxy . So they should have some level of education..
I would encourage her to convert her work into a trust and even take salary for her work. It not only makes her organized but transparent too... Her work would be more effective...

Let's first preface this with the fact that about 70-80% of the donated money goes to the administrative cost of any of the world's leading charities. That means, only a fraction of the money you donate thinking it would help a victim goes to actual victims.

What's discussed above is almost the same thing. I don't think people who donated the money thought they were helping Dil Shova to buy 4 Samsungs and what not, but that's the hardcore reality. Charities need to manage administrative cost. We sure wish that a bigger portion would go to the victims but the reality is not the case.

I don't know who is right or wrong, I am just saying that it's a typical "charity" expense.

the funny thing about this kind of complaints is that the ones that normally give do not complain too much but the ones that do not give will have a lot to complain about.

what a waste of money if she really used charity money to buy those fancy phones, you don't fkin need galaxy S for admins running a charity, could have just gotten a regular non smart phone to do the job. misuse at it's height. and it pisses me off even more that i donated to her charity.

It's outrageous to misuse charity money for latest gadget (samsung galaxy 4 and laptop) for personal uses. It could be office employee but can't be used such fund for personal purpose if really she want to serve the distress people. This is Nepal, everything can be happened and possible once they are getting substaintial amount of money and support, which help to make people corruption due to lawless country.

Dilshova should have stuck with iphone 4 then people wouldn't have much problem.
The fact is Dilshova has dedicated all her life to look after these helpless individuals. The amount of work and the countless hours of her dedication cannot be measured with monetary values. When you give her donations, you are giving her the money so she can use it as she deems fit.

So one time she decides to get samsung or iphone 5, doesn't mean that her credibility is lost. She is free to make that kind of decision once to reward those who help her all the time.

If you have that much problem with it just don't give it next time. Or wait for the news when Dil Shova decides to take her employees for a decent meal at a 5 star hotel to reward them.

my opinion is, she asked for the money because she really needed it to help they needy...i, as a donor, expect that she would do the best to keep admin expenses to a minimum and channel the donation to help run her charity and help whoever she is helping out. it  disheartens me to find out that the money i donated is being used to buy fancy phones and I don't see any reason provided  as to why those phones are even needed vs going with a cheaper alternative (it could also be that other people might have donated the phones and that is not being reported if not i duly apologize for assuming). Also, why would a charity require administrators to use a smart phones? do they need to use smart phone apps to contact outside Nepal for donations? why?
