I just wonder how many PhD holders/students are the 'yatri' of sajha. I think, we have a good number of Nepalese origin PhDs in sajha and some of them are-Nepe, Ashu, Isolated freak, O.K. I may not be necessarily talking about forming a doctoral club in sajha but sharing our experiences related to our field may help us academically and professionally and most importantly it may give us a rough estimation of doctoral Nepalese Diaspora.
I am looking forward to your opinion.

Have you heard "Karma gara tara Fal ko aasha nagara"? It may not be applicable in all instances but if one wishes they can apply it anywhere. People don't always do things hoping to make big bucks in the future. Sometimes, they just do it because their heart desires. There is various ways of making money - unfortunately PhD is not one of the top ones. For that matter, you don't need to graduate from college to be rich.

how many phds are actually been billionares.. may be irwin jacobs of qcom. if you can name others, it would be gr8 too. so it means that one needs to be street smart to become rich [ in money]. agreeing to mm.
if you are talking about knowledge then phds are always in top.


getting back to the calculation portion. How many SCIENCE Phds have you seen starting with a salary of $100k? Assistant Professors starts around 70k-90k. if you find a job that matches your research area in industry then your range in 90-130k. How often it happens? But a bachelors (in EE, CPE, CS, engineering, nurshing, pharmacy) landing $50k job 99%.
