Well, it is the natural tendency of a pearson to like things that they have experienced in their childhood.

I like purbeli songs more than the pachimi, but I do not mean they are not good. You must have heard sambhu rai, hiranya bhojpure, srawan mukarung, khem gurung and all.

Wari jamuna pari jamuna pakkai sunnu bhaekai geet ho, was from the boarder area of Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha.

But, I like the songs like balla paryo nirmaya makuri jalaimaa and baini ko daya chha bhane, those are basically from the area you mentioned.

Buttomline is, we enjoy ourselves most, and that is what happening here for me too.

Pikhuwa Wari-Pari Ko Ukalo Oralo Samjhida !

I remember the days in which I used to go along the roads uphill and downhill before and after crossing the PIKHUWA KHOLA with a backback full of books and other stuffs. Once the river was too much flooded due to a heavy rainfall of SRAWAN and I was not much interested to take a long route. I met someone on the way who was much experienced in swimming in the rivers and asked him to help me cross the swollen river. The guy agreed to help me and caught my one arm tightly and entered the river. After some steps into the river, my feet were no more in contact with the river-bed! Oh my god, I was floating on water with my backback full of books and rice and vegetables. I closed my eyes while the person holding my arms was dragging me to the other side of the river against the river current. When I reached the other side, I turned around and watched the river. It was really terrible!

By the way, some of my Batch mates from Yashodhara Ma.Vi. are - Som, Ajamber, Khageshwor, Dipendra, Khom + 60/70 other friends !

DreamCatcher, you are right, Deurali is the place where the district forest office is located. I may not now udim. At least I can not recall now. Did you bring a khukuri from there?

Deurali is the place where I did my primary school. It is also the place where I spent significant amount of my child and adolthood playing Carim board. I miss that always.

SurNaTal, i guess the school located right below that district forest office is where you did your primary school huh? i don't remember the name of that school though. and no we didn't bring any khukuri from bhojpur though we really wanted since the situation was not that favorable to travel with khukuri....you know what i mean. but of course, we brought rudraksha mala from dingla........when we traveled to remote part from bhojpur bazaar maoists would think that i were one of their members and would come and talk to me since i have mongolian look though i am not rai. LOL. that was interesting......and you know what i liked the way people used to say "bhojpur' as "भच्चुर" and liked that place itself

Maoists abduct UML leader, threaten teachers

Kantipur Report

BHOJPUR, Oct 11 - Demanding a large amount of money as donation, Maoists took Debiram Chaulagain, district committee member of CPN-UML Bhojpur, under control Wednesday morning. He was however released a few hours later.

District police office Bhojpur said Maoists abducted Chaulagain from his residence at Deurali VDC at around 5 am and took him to Jhyaupokhari.

According to UML lawmaker Sherdhan Rai, Maoists demanded 100,000 rupees from Chaulagain who was in charge of local Turke-Jhyaupokhari road construction project. When Chaulagain refused to provide the money from the project's budget, the Maoists demanded Chaulagain pay from his own pocket, Rai said.

UML district office informed that Maoists freed him after some hours from their liaison office in Jhyaupokhari.

However, Maoists district leader Rajesh Khatiwada claimed that he was called to the office for discussion.

Similarly, Maoists issued threats to teachers Bharat Khatri and Bishnu Khatri at Domane VDC demanding large sums of money as donation. They also demanded 100,000 each from UML cadres Hek Khatri and Pashupati Khatri in the village.

As usual and as always! Dashain has knocked our door this year too! So
swiftly! So blessingly! So entusiastically!

In this auspicious occation, I would like to wish we all a HAPPY BADA DASHAIN and SUBHA DEEPAWALI 2064. May the Goddess Durga bless all of us for the peace, progress and prosperity in us all. May the Goddess bless our country for the SUSTAINED PEACE.

We know. We feel. We perceive. What it all mean to us to be far from our land; our family; our loving ones; our culture; our society; and all ourness; in this time of togetherness; time of fun; time of joy; and time of happyness?

There have always been so much more value of festivals away from home, and this time is no exception. We are all counting down the days and waiting so desperately the day we again boom our enjoyment; the day of celebration; the DASHAIN and the TIHAR. Let's celebrate the biggest festival of ours in all
way possible, here in this BHOJPUR THREAD too.

श्री सिद्धकाली भगवतीले हामि सबै को कल्याण गरुन।

Sur Na Tal

Very nice to see a substantial bunch of 'Bhojpures' here in Sajha. I can't really call myself one of you folks, since I wasn't fortunate enough to be born there - my father was born and raised in Bhojpur; I could, however managed to visit there once. I made a trip to Bhojpur during the Winter holidays after finishing the 5th grade, and before jumping onto the 6th! We started in Hile, touched Pakhribas, walked all the way pass the never-ending downhills of Deeyale, and through Akkar, then the Arun river shore. We had a chance to oversee those tiny plateaus of  Suntale, beautiful Bhojpur Bazaar, Taksaar and more while returning, en route to the airport. Can't recall much --- yet I say - it's majestic!!!

Just found some footage of Khandbari uploaded by some tourist in the following site:
