Hi,

I just thought of sharing this to you guys, hope you will take it positively.

I got married in Nepal year 2005. Before we could start to live our life , so many problems arose that i didnot find anything good to live with this marriage. Therefore after six months of time, i asked for divorce with my wife and her family they said, they will never agree. they dont want divorce.

Something i found in Nepal news.com which is similar to my life is:

"Divorce does not always cause harm to social order. Sometimes it becomes
the only way out for married couples who find it difficult to give
continuity to their relationship and seek a way-out"

Now its almost 2 years of time that they are not ready for divorce, and our situation has got more worst. now there's no way that we could be together again but they are forcing and insiting to keep this relation.

They are saying i can go to the court and file for divorce, but to do that i have to go to Village District Office, and than to the court whicy may take 3 or 4 years of time!

Is this the way people want to live in their life, i am totally shocked, if my wife is ready we can get divorce may be in one day. now the problem is she is not ready which means if i follow the process will take upto 5 years.

What do u think guys?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi all,

It is glad to be back on the topic again.
I appointed a lawyer, made a power of attornery to file the divorce case and sent all the papers.
My lawyer went to the VDC office and talked to the authorities there and they asked him to come after 2days then they would forward the case to the Distric court office - Kathmandu and things will start to gear up! Of course for forwarding the case they asked my lawyer bribe of 20,000 Rupees which my lawyer okeyed.

But after two days my lawyer appears in the Vdc offcice where few numbers of people protest against the office and tried to man handle or beat my lawyer. They even rebuked the vdc office incharge and the people said you cant file the case and my lawyer went back even without registering the divorce case. Now my lawyer is afraid if he takes any steps these guys might harm him this is what my lawyers wife told me when i called them. Now the lawyer is out of game after he received money from me.

Is this Democracy, is this called freedom? how can a group of uneducated people can restrict me to excercise my freedom? even to act or get help from legal laws of the country? Fow whom the laws were made then?

i wish good luck for Nepal in 21st century, digital techonologies and pepsi generation!!!

Reality bites!! and in this case its taken a huge chunk off your azz. Looks like the lawyer took the money and decided to do nothing. Who knows?? Hey, you should've looked into ways of bribing the goons instead of the District office fools. Maybe that would've helped...

Hey if you live in Canada as suggested by people here just file your divorce in Canada. They may have mistakenly thought you live in Canada though.

You can file unilateral divorces in Canada.
