Folks,

I am a newbie in this field and want to broaden my knowledge in photography as a hobby. What is the best way to learn photography? Are online courses useful? I do not have any person with similar intererst around me and hence I am asking you folks. How can I improve my photography skills?

This thread is quiet interesting. Here's my HDR picture of John hancock building in Boston

Handheld 3 images @ +/- 2EV spacing in JPG format. Used Photomatrix Pro tone mapping to combine three images.

sweeeeett 79,awesome job in the first one... i dint understand a thing from your description about how you took that photograph however i am pretty sure that its not an easy task to take a picture like that or rather impossible to take in one shot.

happy shooting

seventy9,
I like the second one better. First one is little off composed for me. Lots of things distracted my view on your photograph. If you do HDR, better shoot in RAW so that you won't loose any detail with 8-bit compression of JPEG files. Sometime it's almost impossible to get details when you save in JPEG format.

I like your setting +/-2EV at night. I don't know which camera you are using but some Nikon DSLR allows you to take 5 in AEB mode which gives you more range for color tones.

Just my two cents.

Keep posting.

@ Fat brother.. check for your camera manual to see if it supports Auto Bracketing

@ume$sh thanks for your comment. I completely agree with you. To tell you the truth that was my first try at HDR . Taking RAW never came to my mind while taking the picture but it hit me as I was brining it together.
Hey I'm learning :), I really do appreciate for your input...

I like your picture but why the hell so many people wearing red ??? :
