Sundar Shanta Nepal: Traveling Peace Concert from Oct 15

Himal Association with nepa~laya (event manager) is launching a traveling peace concert 2005 entitled 'Sundar Shanta Nepal' from 15th October.



The traveling peace concert will travel to 8 places across the country from Mechi to Mahakali and will conclude in Bhaktapur on 30th October.

Organizers said it is a traveling peace concert that aims at bringing together singing artists of different generations onto a single platform with the objective of entertaining the masses while also spreading the message of peace and brotherhood.

The members of the team are Meera Rana, Om Bikram Bista, Sapana Shree, Kunti Moktan, Satya and Swaroop Acharya, Jyoti Ghimire along with Nepathya Band.

As per the information given by the organizers this is to be the biggest event of its kind in Nepal and is expected to cater to a cumulative mass of over 300,000 people.

Reputed organizations active in social, educational and cultural sectors will act as local partners for the shows. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to support local initiatives taken by these organisations.

The 'Sundar Shanta Nepal' schedule is as follows:

The artist profile is as follows:

Meera Rana

A singer since the tender age of 12, Meera Rana is still going strong after 40 years in this profession. With more than 1600 to her credit, Meera has sung songs of various genres-classical, bhajan, modern and folk.

Timi Ruwaune Mero Dhoko Hoina, Makhmali Cholo, You Matt Chadeko Sanjhama, Baduli Lagyo? are some of her hits.

Om Bikram Bista

Om Bikram Bista is considered as a living legend of Nepali Pop. During the past 35 years of his involvement in the music field, he has recorded over 600 songs and released 10 albums. He has performed in many places within and beyond the nation.

Ma Mauntama Aljhiraheko, Sunchandi Bhanda, Ko ho tyo? are some of his super hits.

Kunti Moktan

Kunti is amongst the immensely popular Singers of Nepal. She has 7 albums and around 400 songs to her credit. She has traveled and performed extensively within Nepal and abroad.

A few of her latest mega hits include Dharan Dhankuta, Mathi Mathi Sailungema, Gothalo Janda, Choli Ramo and Humla-Jumla.

Sapana Shree

Her first recording goes back to when she was just 5. Since then there has been no looking back. An extremely talented and versatile singer, Sapana has recorded more than 1200 songs till date.

Hereko Timilai, Kata Kata Udhdai Cha, Chiuri Botaima? are some of her hits.

Satya - Swaroop Raj Acharya

Siblings parents can be proud of, would be the right phrase for these two brothers. Sons of the legendary Bhakta Raj Acharya, these two have undoubtedly inherited the musical talents of their father. However with their effort, they have been able to create their own names as well.

These two are versatile and are considered as a potentials asset to Nepali music in the days to come.

Jyoti Ghimire

Jyoti is a well known and an experienced guitarist. He has spent more than 25 years in active music. He is leading the musicians to support the artists in this show. Jyoti has also tried his luck with vocals and it has worked.

His recent hits include Maski Maski and Nasalu timro herai.

Nepathya (Amrit Gurung)

Formed in 1990, Nepathya is considered the ace and the most earthy folk-rock band of Nepal. With 6 albums released and the 7th one already recorded, Nepathya has always been trend setters in the field of Nepali pop/rock. Amrit Gurung, the key person of Nepathya is amongst the key driving force behind Sundar Shana Nepal.

Additionally, few prominent artists who have confirmed to join Sundar Shanta Nepal from their respective localities are:

The Buds Band will join in Hetauda, Deauda Master Nanda Krishna Joshi will join in Dhangadi, and The classic-Deurali Band will play in Palpa.
