Who's your next president 2016?

pollcode.com free polls

We've known Hillary for long time, her charity works towards numerous other humanitarian issues etc.
1. She gave and delivered a kickass commencement speech at Wellesley College in 1969.
2. She was one of 27 women who graduated from Yale Law School in 1973, out of a class of 235.
3. She was the only woman on the Nixon impeachment investigation team.
4. She cofounded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families advocacy group.
5. She broke the mold for first ladies with her speech at the 1995 United Nations Women's Conference in China.
6. She won a Grammy for the audio edition of her book, It Takes a Village.
7. She worked with Ted Kennedy to expand the Children's Health Insurance Program.
8. She won the most votes of any female presidential candidate in history.
9. She set the stage for Obamacare by pushing health care reform in the '90s and during the 2008 campaign.
10. She became the most-traveled U.S. secretary of state ever.
11. She set into motion the first American talks with Iran since the 1979 revolution.

Now who is Bernie Sanders, I don't know, I really don't know and to me he popped up suddenly out of nowhere. If you are partaking in a match, there has to be someone to compete with. I believe any contenders to Hillary are just those out there just for the sake of it(match aka debate). And for someone like me when I saw him suddenly on TV saying that he's getting donation for his campaign not from billionaires but public. People paid standing ovation with round of applause, so? so what's the point? Does that make him saint? But to lot of people that made sense and now he's everyone's' talk of the night. Yes, there are things that make lot of sense to people. The same people who would believe they're getting free Ipad on some fake facebook page of real publication, the same people who follow Trump the maniac, the same fans who would like/share tweets of their drughigh fav singer who claims earth is flat, the same people who resend/retext/reshare religious messages out of fear(do this or curse would happen type), the same people who argues Ron Paul's gold theory must come back in action, the same people who believe and sell all their belongings in the name of judgment day only to turn into homeless next day, seriously I sometimes think how gullible we are to think whatever we hear and see are the truths. Bernie Sanders is another hype to me. Few videos on youtube found me the guy was a big time critique of democratic party itself, and didn't spare Obama policy from criticizing. I am afraid of sweet talkers and often time they're the back stabbers.

In all honesty, I really can't trust this Bernie dude and it seems like how honestly he's saying his things, Hillary is the way to go. Campaigns can't be run without money, however way you get it, you need money. He'll be in billionaire's pocket too if he's to get presidency. Those who think he's not going to be, are just type of people I mentioned in a paragraph above this.

If you are OBAMA supporters, VOTE for Hillary, if you are not VOTE for bernie.

Good Luck.

I'm seeing Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States of America.

i got it.... had to unsubscribe through email also to unfollow !!!

but Bittertruth brother...no hard feelings but I was trying to get out of this thread because I started supporting Bernie and you started like mass posting everything good of Hillary and everything bad of Bernie (felt a little biased). I am not saying Bernie is a saint ... I don't agree with him on few different issues and he has some issues like Hillary does. And also you started belittling Bernie supporters like they don't know anything and are just following Bernie because he is going to give free stuff which is not true.

But the trash talk was the other reason not wanting to be in this thread as well!! :)

Peace Out brother!!

An Open Letter from Past CEA Chairs to Senator Sanders and Professor Gerald Friedman

Dear Senator Sanders and Professor Gerald Friedman,

We are former Chairs of the Council of Economic Advisers for Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. For many years, we have worked to make the Democratic Party the party of evidence-based economic policy. When Republicans have proposed large tax cuts for the wealthy and asserted that those tax cuts would pay for themselves, for example, we have shown that the economic facts do not support these fantastical claims. We have applied the same rigor to proposals by Democrats, and worked to ensure that forecasts of the effects of proposed economic policies, from investment in infrastructure, to education and training, to health care reforms, are grounded in economic evidence.  Largely as a result of efforts like these, the Democratic party has rightfully earned a reputation for responsibly estimating the effects of economic policies.

We are concerned to see the Sanders campaign citing extreme claims by Gerald Friedman about the effect of Senator Sanders’s economic plan—claims that cannot be supported by the economic evidence. Friedman asserts that your plan will have huge beneficial impacts on growth rates, income and employment that exceed even the most grandiose predictions by Republicans about the impact of their tax cut proposals.

As much as we wish it were so, no credible economic research supports economic impacts of these magnitudes. Making such promises runs against our party’s best traditions of evidence-based policy making and undermines our reputation as the party of responsible arithmetic. These claims undermine the credibility of the progressive economic agenda and make it that much more difficult to challenge the unrealistic claims made by Republican candidates.

Sincerely,

Alan Krueger, Princeton University Chair, Council of Economic Advisers, 2011-2013

Austan Goolsbee, University of Chicago Booth School
Chair, Council of Economic Advisers, 2010-2011

Christina Romer, University of California at Berkeley
Chair, Council of Economic Advisers, 2009-2010

Laura D’Andrea Tyson, University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business
Chair, Council of Economic Advisers, 1993-1995

$15 an hour, sounds like a great deal for everyone when minimum wage per hour is still $7.5 in some states. But When Hillary proposes $12 an hour, then it's unrealistic beyond imagination. Hillary's quote is arithmetically viable and pretty much calculated. Sander's $15 is impractical and even if it materializes here is what is going to happen.

Quick rundown in simple layman's term.

-No, it's not gonna be free as he started his campaign with that very notion. 'Free college tuition, free healthcare' though I agree these are basic rights of every human, it comes with the cost. To put his claim in effect, his plan is to tax wallstreet speculation, in reality middle class would have to be in it with equal share of tax bearing. Hillary talks about giving breaks on student loans by eliminating interest on it. She goes against big pharma charging exorbitant price for prescription that she vows to eliminate during her tenure. These things presented by Hillary are far more practical than Sander's everything free notion. Few friends in different European countries, acknowledged there is free education and free healthcare but they've the highest taxes both on middle class and rich. Don't dream that you won't be tax under sanders, both middle class and 1% will be equal tax bearer in his tenure.

-$15 an hour sounds like a great idea. Sanders want to bring all jobs back in the USA. He wants to destroy free trade. He is demonizing free trade bills. Imagine this, in inflation value of money goes down and price of commodity goes up. His plan resembles inflation, just assuming. In one of his interviews, when he was asked what if the price of commodity that we buy that is 'Made in USA' has higher price tag than that of 'imported goods'. His plain stupid remark was '. Well, that's when/why we have $15 minimum wage'. What he's implying is people would have to pay far higher price than now to whatever products they buy, with the income they would earn with $15 minimum wage. So folks, don't need to be happy just as of now. In Nepal, we have this 'ukhan' I forgot but it was something like 'K K garey, hata laaye sunna'. Something like that. Bernie's $15 an hour propaganda is just tantalizing.

TRUMP and Bernie want to bring back jobs, end free trade.
Imagine paying $200 for 32GB USB drive coz it's 'Made in USA'.
In this era of globalization, we can't let these guys be our President.

Vote for Hillary.

My two cents -

For a country like Nepal, we depend on tariffs and duty free exports to US. Bernie Sanders has repeatedly said he would end the free trade. Imagine for a country like Nepal and millions and millions of people in China, Philippines, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and the like that would be affected if USA stopped free trade or in other cases like ceasing NAFTA just because US does not want to provide more money? And Sanders is now giving his fake as shit plea for being kind to the Palestinians. Is he even aware the global consequences of stopping free trade with Asian countries?

That is why despite all of her flaws, Hillary is far better in being a global leader and one with a multi-dimensional vision and approach. On paper, she will be infinitely better for Nepal in terms of our prospects on trade policy and agreements. Bernie, however noble his plans may be, is seriously flawed in that he is great in identifying and describing the problems and in effect riling up the crowd and ranting about the problems. But, when real action and decisions are to be made, he is just pathetic.

Why would Bernie care about Nepal or China. As an American politician his primary duty is to care for in USA's interest. As for bittertruth, those who are long enough in sajha know how many accounts you create to talk with Yourself. I remember when Sandai blocked you because you had 3 accounts and having conversation with yourself to prove your point.

Exactly Rajesh,
That was my point.
It's really sad to see many of my compatriots are following 'hippie rush', forgetting where they come from. I mean it's pretty understandable for someone who is born here. But..us Nepalese..

The link you posted, I've written something similar like 2 months ago, somewhere I mentioned that Bernie's policy would hurt lot of immigrants including us.

anon, I know you must be some shitty old wine in new bottle.
If you think 'Rajesh BP' is my another nick, I have no comment, you are free to think whatever you want to think. I still chuckle at site moderator who assumed I took the picture with Hillary when that wasn't even me. He once assumed I am 'durbarmarg' in chat room and to so many other people, I knew that moment people here lack sound judgment, quick at falsely assuming things on their own. You are no different. Go on. These very people who blame other using different nicks, have more than 10 nicknames under their access.

I sometimes worry about Mily and few other people who support my views, you are at greater risk of being tainted as MPD, impersonating in different nicks just cause we hold same belief.

Given that Jeff Weaver said that the trip to the Vatican transcended politics, to say that this was a campaign related would be false and the Sanders campaign might once again be in big trouble with the FEC when they try to write the trip off as a campaign expense. Bernie had no invitation from the Pope. He did not have a meeting with the Pope. He made no speech at the Vatican or at the Vatican Think Tank. He stalked the Pope trying to create the illusion that there was a meeting between the two so that the campaign could put out a photo implying the Pope's endorsement and so that it can try to write off the family trip as a campaign expense. All Bernie did was be a tourist and when the Pope walked by he was courteous and said hello.

Bernie or Trump gives zero fucks to Nepal or any other country. And as a Nepali, that is a problem for me. In fact, I'd bet he couldn't even point to Nepal on the map.

But real talk here, I do not see the craze towards Sanders. The old guy recently could not even come up with a plan in how hoe would dismantle the bank. This despite the fact that in all his speeches he regurgitates the same old talking points and platitudes of big banks owning too much money and how he would dismantle them for their own good. But when asked how he would really do that, the old guy's brain froze.

Also, in that most recent debate, he was asked to name ONE example or case of Hillary in which she changed her policy after she made the speeches at Goldman Sachs. This has been another central argument of his whole campaign - this false and character assassination attempt of Hillary that she is bought by the big banks and is corrupted. But here again, he could NOT provide any example or case at all.

All goes to show you again that Sanders is all talk zero action kind of guy. His anger and those big promises of free college, free healthcare etc. can almost never be achieved in US, especially when the Republicans will block everything and anything that Sanders will propose.
