Just a short 'survey' for all married folks on here (only married ones please!) :

1. How old were you and your significant other when you got married?

2. How long have you been married for?

3. What do you think is the right age for a man/woman to get married?

4. Where did you go for your honeymoon?

5. Should one consider each others religion, caste, socioeconomic status etc. prior to getting married?

6. Is marriage really a 'job' that you accepted, full of promises, hope and excitement at first but a dreadful, boring regimen in the long run?

7. What are the pros and cons of getting married? (from your experience)

(I highly doubt there are too many married folks on here, let alone the ones who'd bother replying to this but its a boring Sunday night and thought I'd ask, that's all).

Dumbfounded, I've never added a girl that I didn't know and no, I don't add too many girls on FB. The girls that I was talking about, all 4 added me.

I guess I want the type of woman that any guy likes. Smart, witty, caring, good listener, smiley, fun, outgoing, good looking etc.

Interesting post in Sajha, after a while

1. How old were you and your significant other when you got married?
- I am in early 30s and still SINGLE

2. How long have you been married for?
- N/A

3. What do you think is the right age for a man/woman to get married?
- I dont think there is any right age as such, but I believe you should be mentally prepared for it from both side.
I think if he/she feels that they are ready to take a responsibility then you can start looking for it. And mind you, ringing bell will not happen just like that.

4. Where did you go for your honeymoon?
- Location doesn’t matter for me (May be becoz I am guy). But should be decent one, you should be able tell your kids later specially in US, "It was our FIRST honey moon place". Note there is a special mark for FIRST :D

5. Should one consider each others religion, caste, socioeconomic status etc. prior to getting married?
- This all depend upon your character and your priority. But KEYWORD over here is you should be respectful to your partner all the time no matter what comes to your way. Should be prepared to hold their back if any issue comes related to it.
I believe that you should NOT change your fundamental belief for your partner. But should be ready to make minor change during the course of marriage

6. Is marriage really a 'job' that you accepted, full of promises, hope and excitement at first but a dreadful, boring regimen in the long run?
- I don’t believe you should consider marriage as job, should be the way you are being a soul mate of other. If its arrange marriage, then it will take some time to be in that level.
But if you feel that dreadful, boring regimen during its course, then either you or your partner or both has to suffer because of it. I believe, it will not bring best all the time, but both partners should work  it to bring best of it.

I have read that.. the simply way to make your marriage beautiful is appreciate your partner, Don’t take anything granted. If wife is cooking and looking after your children all the time then you should not take those things granted. Just show her that you always appreciate her decision to take a step further for being a best wife/mom and same is applicable for ladies too

7. What are the pros and cons of getting married? (from your experience)
As I said, their there is no pro/con, you always make best of out it. You should not feel you are obligated to be in this relation or in that boundary.

@footy and @ dumbfounded: I have similar incident to share. I was in same situation, my parents forced me to chat with few girls (not at same time, all are from Nepal). As it was messenger chat it was not so ackward. But we had ackward moments, but I found that most them were not sure what their future plan and expectation from their partner. As I have mentioned above they were not mentally prepared for it, it usally happens in Nepal. As I  was looking for person, who will have independent view..
I am still SINGLE :):):)

I feel like a sheep because it seems like you saw my 'original' post.

If we're not FB friends then I really wonder who you are. (seeing that you created this nickname 'solely' with an intent of posting on my thread). Surely its not a practical joke to mess with an innocent soul.

1. How old were you and your significant other when you got married?
Now Im 22. Not married but girl 22-27 and boy 25-35( appropriate age)

2. How long have you been married for?
Not yet

3. What do you think is the right age for a man/woman to get married?
see no 1.

4. Where did you go for your honeymoon?
I m a travelling person.
I like to go to Alaska, Miami(US), New zealand, Australia...Nepal(Pokhara, Jomsom), Mansarobar, Chitwan.

5. Should one consider each others religion, caste, socioeconomic status etc. prior to getting married?
I think no one sud. If two heart meets, then there sud me no boundaries between true love. I believe that love someone like the fullest without caring who they are and unconditionally.

6. Is marriage really a 'job' that you accepted, full of promises, hope and excitement at first but a dreadful, boring regimen in the long run?
Excitement :). New beginning of two soulmates. one sudn't ever think marriage as a job. Both needs committment, share each other feelings, understand each other, be the best person for each other.

7. What are the pros and cons of getting married? (from your experience)
Pros: You will find a person with whom u can share, talk each other thoughts, feelings and be support to each other in their happiness and sorrows.
Cons: If u don't mingle with each other pretty well, then there is no point of being in relationship. Life will be like a hell.
So footyfan: Choose the girl who is caring, loving and beautiful and who knows how to get connected with ur feelings and both sud have respect for each other. Learn to compromise some of the things. No one is perfect in this world. Love ur soulmates and be loved by her.

30-35

Couldn't able to get a chance.

5. Should one consider each others religion, caste, socioeconomic status etc. prior to getting married?
you shouldn't at least i wouldn't as long as someone is a normal human being its ok. but that doesn't mean you wanna get married to a drug addict?do you?

6. Is marriage really a 'job' that you accepted, full of promises, hope and excitement at first but a dreadful, boring regimen in the long run?

LOL. What if "polygamy" is also another sajha girls username (who is illegal). That'd be interesting too.
