R B Adhikari is right in some way...Belonging to any identity means sharing cultural similarities, historical similarities....Having a King doesn't make us Nepali but till now is has been a part of our identity...He is not our father, but a symbolic guardian so to speak. and I personally have great respect for the legacy of Prithivi Narayan Shah...but what the f**k is Gyanendra...He's no King...A King cares about his people, above himself even. Why does he need two bullet proof jaguars? The way I see it, he's really in it for himself and his cronies. he's taking adavntage of the situation. I mean if he really cared that much than he would be willing to make some sacrifices for his people, for what’s best and I hope many of you don't argue that peace is not the best thing for us right now. Though I believe their means are completely out of line the Maoists have some legitimate claims (The country side being ignored, money being focused primarily in Kathmandu, corruption in the gov, the gov not having enough balance etc) . Baburam and Prachanda are both pretty smart men (E.i thier schooling and SLC back ground) and I believe in their hearts they want Nepal to be a better place. It is unfortunate that in thier world view a communist revolution is the only way. the world or Nepal is not ready for communism, Humans remain too greedy and individualistic, they could have used thier zeal in the opposite way, in the age of corruption I feel like they would have been pretty popular guys. The point was though if the King truly cared about the people he would have found at least that much in common with the Maoists, that they want a better Nepal and that would be grounds enough for some type of negotiation. But yet the King has stayed an absolutist, he has never given any ground to anybody...Ok I understand you are a man of your believes but this is politics man you have to come to the table ready to bargain if your are truly doing it for the people if you don't give up a little nobody else will....Maoist are also not innocent...they wanted to only talk to the King before and now they wont so I hesitate to trust their word a hundred percent. The Political parties must be reinstated, the King must take a back seat (and should be investigated for corruption), Maoists need to come back to the main stream. Everybody arguing against the King, however, makes it seems like the political parties are the saviors of our country. I hate those f**kers, some of them are just as twisted and corrupt. Most of them are half dead ( i talked to Girija Prasad like a year back...his mind is not 100%...he's senile..I dont even know how he still makes sensible speeches...and this is my own relative I'm talking about.) And Deuba? c'mon the CIAA charges might have been political motivated but you think that he is a standup guy? Hell no. 75% of Nepal is under 25 yrs old why do these old cronies control our future, they don;t have any stake in Nepal any more...they need to give way to younger people in the parties..those who truly do it for the love of thier people...One day we will make it through though…I mean we are the greatest country on this planet...Jai Nepal.
