"Tibet, Tibet" by Patrick French - a very engaging book with a personal, objective and rational take on Tibet and Tibetan issues. The writer talks of  the idealized "Tibet of the mind" versus the reality of Tibet today.

 @aashi - The brother karamazov is a splendid book. The best book I have ever read. dostoyevsky at his best. I love other books from him too, like Crime and Punishment and House of the dead.
The irony is that he wrote is best book to pay his gambling debts.

camerapicture - thousan splendid suns is also a good book.

Try hunger games if you like girl with dragon tatoo.

11/22/63 - by stepen king is also good

Leaving microsoft to change the world is also good

 Just bought "What color is your parachute?" by Richard Rolles and "Buddhas Orphans" by Samrat Upadhyaya.

Finished reading "2 States" by Chetan Bhagat last night. (good story)

Planning to finish "Life of Pi" before I watch the movie.

Our nepali writers could not influence anyone except few ?

Anyway currently reading my grandfather's biography sinch his childhood days, his struggle, rana regimes, his employment in Gov during Rana rules, uprising, his talk with then indian prime minister, about his ansestors, marriage all all about his life which we didn't know. priceless. Cannot find in stores anywhere in the world :)

He left us a book which we will pass on to our next generation to remember our history.
He is not a good writer but he narrated it to a good writer and the writer wrote for him.

I am thinking of recording stories from my grandmother side too before she goes to heaven. :)
At the end it is your taste what you like.

 Just started "Buddha's Orphan" by Samrat Upadhayay and "Naso" by Guru P. Mainali  at the same time.....

@MNO :
Is there a book about your grandfather and his life? Autobiography ? And I disagree with your statement "Our nepali writers could not influence anyone except few ?  " ....there are a bunch of inspirational writers in nepali literature, even today....
