Samsara-

Actually, you’re wrong. Communism has not always failed. Native Americans lived under several communist style “governments”, note there is no such thing as a communist government it is more a Communist society. Another problem with saying that Communism failed in China and Ukraine is that it wasn’t communism; it was socialism at best and totalitarianism at worst. In Ukraine the people did not work for the community they worked for the state, same thing in China.
I say communism can actually work, but it has to follow a Marxist path and not a Leninist path. This means that communism has to evolve on its own, the people must want a communist society. Leninism forces first Socialism on the people then Communism, and as we have seen most countries don?t make it to Communism.

Samsara, Do you know that there is a communist party in USA ? Its head office is in New York . In the upcoming presidential election, they are supporting Barack Obama. You can google and find the details. So if USA allows the communist party to operate hree, then it wont have any problem with people supporting any idealogy. Thats the beauty of this nation.

safalnepal,

the only we can predict the further intitiatives of the political parties is to look over the manifesto. Its true that they are communist but they are not extremist. On an interview Dr.Bhattarai even mentioned the failure of Cuba and he told it was due to the lack of reformation. He emphasized the fact that ots not gonna work that way in Nepal.....Though they are communist ,they are not extreme leftists.....no need to fear about that.Everbody seems to be afraid of the word "communism" before knowing the objective of the party........

If you never heard of it, bask in the glory of your ignorance. I feel bad about the Communists reigning over in Nepal, but more than that, I feel that I have people like Samsara, who happen to know a few vulgar words and have a lot of free time, that are now the enemies of my "enemy" - The Maoists.

Judging by the way Samsara is manipulating Sajha and the baseless rumors he is spreading, I feel he is a communist in disguise, who is blatantly spreading malice about the democrats by pretending to be one of them. Don't think he is a democrat for democrats would be ready to hear others' views - even though this is a public forum, where your identity is protected, a democratic person wouldn't have closed ears to other's opinions.

There are two things you need to learn first. No matter what level of education you are in, take

1). A Behavior 101 class. You seriously need to learn and practice some good manners.

2). Increase your vocab on good words. With all these crappy words you are using, you seem disgusting.

That's it for you. Now I know your response would be something full of spite. So whatever you say by referring to me, applies 1000 folds to you and your family and not to me.  I think everyone here at Sajha can attest to that. Jay Nepal.

And responding to one of the previous comments, Bible has been the guiding power for rule over nations - sometimes more powerful than the constitution of the nations themselves. Even China ceded to the Pope's appointed Bishop lately. The Jewish State - Israel was founded upon the bases of their Tannakh - the Jewish name of the old testament.

safalnepal, leave the preaching to lil pricks who are not yet on my level.  And you call me a democrat?  Have I said ANYWHERE that I support democracy, feudalism or monarchy?  WTF?  All I know is that I don't support the commies.  Now go back to your commie college and do your homework on the Samsara.  You may find enough here to start your dissertation on, sublime jackazz!!  Also, lots of nations were founded on religion but NOT totally on it.  You're comparing Religion and the Commies again?  Communism is an economic system, jackazz!  Rigorous college you say?  My azz!!

rein, there may be a communist party in the US, but aliens who come here on a visa and support the communists are NOT tolerated by the DHS' initiatives.  And sajha is full of these so-called commie supporting aliens who are nothing but goddamn opportunists!

Elusive cat, Every time Communists come to power, it is by manipulation. They have been talking really sweet lately - that's their strategic plan. Though I would have no problems with their rule if they were to adopt the democratic principles in their rule, I am highly skeptical if that would happen. They have now a right to do anything in the name of the "people". Judging by the current state of affairs, our country is in the hands of a lot - with few brain powers - Baburam, and Prachanda. Have you ever thought what would befall if these two are assassinated? Total Anarchy. And if these two are alive, you can never be sure of their hidden agendas. I think they love the country - I can't disagree to that. But, I think they will curtail many of our freedoms. Further, they would have to appease millions of their cadres, who know little and know just how to fight, kill, threaten and kill. So, as a common Nepali guy, I feel I am doomed. Unless the Maoist authority tames their cadres - in the short run. In the long run, I am absolutely doomed.

Here is an article from www.economist.com

ASIA: Nepal's election

Maoists take the lead

Surprising early election results Apr14th 2008

NEPAL'S Maoists, who until two years ago were a vicious rebel party to a decade-long civil war, look likely to have won a general election. Of 186 seats declared on Monday April 14th the Maoists had won 103. A complicated electoral system mixing direct elections with proportional representation makes the overall complexion of the impending 601-seat assembly still hard to predict. But the Maoists may have won an outright majority.

At the least, they will have a big say in the writing of a new constitution—the next government’s main task. By contrast, before the vote, foreign observers and local pundits had predicted that the Maoists would be embarrassed at the polls. Some feared this might lead them to derail Nepal’s frail peace process, by organising countrywide strikes, or even by returning to war.

The Maoists’ tentative triumph certainly owes something to their former tactics. The election campaign was bloody. Two candidates and a score of other people were killed in clashes between hoodlums loyal to the three main political parties. And the Maoists’ thugs were by far the most active. But, in a country well-used to political violence, voter intimidation alone cannot explain the Maoists’ fledgling success. At least as important was a deep sense of disenchantment among voters with the other main options: the Nepali Congress party and the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), known as the UML.

Though tarnished by a spell of corrupt and unstable democracy in the 1990s, both parties had blithely predicted victory for themselves with a landslide. While the Maoists campaigned for the poll vigorously—led by their charismatic leader, Pushpal Kamal Dahal, or Prachanda (“awesome”)—Nepal’s two biggest parties ran lackadaisical campaigns. They have so far won 56 seats between them. The UML’s leader, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has resigned.

Indeed, Nepali voters—including many voting for the first time—have much to be disenchanted with. They are among the poorest Asians. Their war-eroded—and always weak—state affords most of them little. And it is increasingly seething with ethnic, regional and caste-based unrest.

In the mountainous Kaski region, in central Nepal, villagers with practically no state services said they had voted for the Maoists for two main reasons. Some, especially members of low-caste or outcast Hindu groups, said that the Maoists would bring electricity and equality. High-caste Hindus were more likely to say that they had voted to bring the Maoists to power because they feared they would otherwise return to the local forests and their former ways: extorting money and kidnapping children.

The Maoists have indeed promised to end caste-based discrimination, and they probably mean to try. During the war, their leaders, including many high-caste Brahmins, were always willing to stay at the houses of low-caste Dalits—whether invited or not.

How they would respond to Nepal’s many other problems is hard to judge. Yet it seems that they are not intent on wrecking the means of production. Promising a “bourgeois democratic revolution”, Prachanda said he would dismantle Nepal’s vestiges of feudalism, not capitalism.

How Nepal’s allies, especially India, would respond to a Maoist-dominated government is almost as important. Foreign aid accounts for most government spending on development, including health-care and education. Moreover India, Nepal’s biggest trading partner by far, has a stranglehold on its economy. And with an eye to China, it’s traditional rival for influence in Nepal, India jealously guards its sway over the country.

An outright victory for the Maoists would be a nightmare for India. Plagued by a Maoist insurgency of its own, India until recently backed Nepal’s blundering King Gyanendra, who tried to crush the Maoists in the field. India forsook the king after he seized power in 2005. And it played an important part in brokering the peace process after his withdrawal from power following street protests the next year.

In February, for example, it persuaded autonomy-seeking southerners, of the Terai plain, not to boycott and derail the election as they were threatening to do. India said then that the election was a crucial part of the peace process—no matter the result. But it certainly did not predict these results.

Yeah, that makes it even clearer Samsara. Maddogg or someone mentioned about you being a democrat. So read the threads you write on rather than just barking aloud every time. Fill your belly with some knowledge for you are making the most noise here - and you are devoid of manners, but full of insolence. I am happy to not be on your level - I wouldn't want to abase myself to such a level. You are here to ignite hatred and you just keep on shouting and speaking bad at people.

Don't worry about what I would do, for I am in a far better position that you in every way.

Samsara, it doesn't matter what your political beliefs are. By the way you go on ranting about here, I already know what you are, and who you are. Economic system is a new development, in those olden times I talk of, Tanakh had been used as the ecomonic system as well. Both politic and economic. Go read some of it, and come and then talk. I am not saying that Bible is an economic system, but if you judge only that time period, it is to some extent. And, hence analogies can be made.

If you are in any top tier college in the US raging from HYPS, Caltech, MIT or anything -you name it - and if you want it, I can have my friends kick you ass. So, don't worry about it either.

I have already told you the basics. A simple google search can reveal the answers. If you don't know how to, there's no way I can be of any help.

Don't brag about your 4 year history. You have learned nothing from your history, and it seems as if there were any good you wrote here, you've already tarnished them by your gibberish here.

Samsara -
Communism is taking place right here in America.... Could this be true? Well, think about it. How much of your state land does the government own? If you don’t know, research it and you’ll be speechless, try it. Which direction do your taxes keep going? Ever pay attention to the ridiculous inheritance tax this country uses to steal a dead person’s wealth? A central bank is already entrenched in the form of the Fed and you must know central bank is a communist idea. Our media and information providing system is controlled by the state. Our education system is one that’s designed to proliferate propaganda and teach our children a “doctored” history. Just something to think about. Now instead of discussing whether maoist should be in power or not. lets start thinking positively.

safalnepal, you say "If you are in any top tier college in the US raging from HYPS, Caltech, MIT or anything -you name it - and if you want it, I can have my friends kick you ass"

HAHAHHA  Talk about yourself son.  You're in one of those small time community colleges and you talk about YOUR friends??  HAHAHHA  Just proves what a low-life you are.  What's their's IS theirs...Ain't never gonna be yours sucka!!  Where do these ignoramus' come outta?  They live on their friend's merits...Ain't no communism here, damnit!  I ain't gonna live to see a free-rider prob here in sajha!  HAHAHAH  And this fool goes on to say that the Bible was an economic system to some extent!   HAHHAHA  THE BIBLE AN ECONOMIC SYSTEM??  HAHAHHA  All sajha economists, pls join me in unison to do the 3 fold laughter!  HA HA HA!!  This azzhole takes the cake for stupidity it seems!  Can;t believe that these are the type of idiots who come around for a bout of argument with NO damn knowledge about anything.

bored, what you mentioned are NOT communism.  You talk about land ownership?  In a communist system, the state owns ALL the land!  You talk about taxes?  In a communist system there are no taxes as the citizens are basically living on welfare and aid provided by the govt.  Inheritence?  There is no such word in the communist manifesto!  Central Bank is a communist idea?  How?  The MAJOR job of the Fed here is to monitor the financial markets and banking institutions!  Do communist countries have financial markets and banking institutions??  Go do some research before trynna brainwash people like me who know more about communism than your dad, Prachanday ever did!!

And think positively when the commies are ruling Nepal?  WTF?  Have you all gone bonkers??

Samsara -
I just went through the Maoist manifesto. They sound promising. You seem to be on a different topic. Maoist sound more liberal than a true communism. They wanna promote public private partnership which is a good thing to boost the economy.  Heavy foreign investment is also a good thing for development of the country...i dont think i need any explanation from you. U can keep it to urself instead of inflicting bad ideas without any reasonable solutions or even thoughts, same old communism ideology preaching. The maoist have selected proper tactics to solve essentials problems. Its gonna be better than any other previous government. You might wanna be ready for another round of surprises in the near future.

Bored, anything to win votes...Once in office, they'd show their true colors.  This from unconfirmed sources but Did you hear about how the Maoists promised various sub-regions their OWN state when these rebels first started the war some 10 years ago?  Now that they rule the roost, there is NO way they can break Nepal into 4 new states...No wonder the chain of command within the Maoist heirarchy is now being broken down.  The top officals CANNOT control the YCL and the lower level of its cadres.  If the Maoist govt does not deliver to its soldiers who fought the war for them, then expect another civil war from the disgruntled members.  I cannot rule of this scenario and please come back in sajha then to tell us how you still support these mass murderers!!
