The Monarchy CREATED the country called Nepal. Without the Shahs, we should be part of India or China, or live as independent kingdoms with our own peoples. I currently support King Gyanendra, but, should his rule expire, we should split Nepal into independent, viable kingdoms with OUR OWN people ruling our own territories. Think of former Yugoslavia.

Madhesh should be given to India along with all the dhotis. No question asked. The likes of Paramendra should be able to sing the Indian national anthem without any fear. Himal part should be given to China along with all the bhotes. You bhotes have right to eat yak and whatever.

Dude, you gotta understand that the 22, 24 small states (or Biese, Chaubise Rajya) which existed in the times of Prithivi Narayan Shah didnt ask Prithivi Narayan Shan to be annexed into the unifited Nepali state by force. These small states were forced to be a part of Nepali state by force and "not by will" therefore it is absolutely hard to believe that at that time these Biese, Chaubise Rajya had any pride in being any part of Nepali identity.

I really dont think they had any were thankful (let alone have pride) for the Monarchy that forced into the union they never wanted in the first place.

People will be proud of the union when both parites are willing to have but how the heck anyone will ever be proud of some union that was forceful and not by will. Nepali identiry was not their " choice by will" but rather "enforced" one.

On the issue of existence of "script and languages" of many ethinic communities of Nepal, dude you rather do some research on it and you definately find almost all of the ethnic groups still have their own "script and language" still alive to this date.

I used to visit Terai regions during winter when I was little, Madhesi people, are yes just a bit darker in color. BUT, by no means are they "INDIANS". They call themselves NEPALIS because they are.
