Indian border force SSB drives 1800 Nepalis in Nepal:-

DANG, June 1 - Hundreds of people have been displaced as border security force of India,
Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB), reportedly drove them out form various
bordering villages of Dang district along Nepal-India border.
More than 1,800 people are now taking shelter in a community forest of Satbariya-2 in Deukhuri area in the district. The victims said the SSB personnel encroached the Nepali territory and torched their settlements.
"We were compelled to leave our homes to protect our lives," said Purna Kumari Bista, 70, of Rajpur VDC-7. She said the Indian side also shifted border pillars some 35 metres inside Nepali land.
The villagers of various 22 bordering villages of Rajpur, Bela and Koilabas VDCs in the district were displaced by the SSB. The displaced have also accused the SSB personnel of raping their women and pillaging their villages every now and then. The enraged victims blamed the government for not providing security despite the repeated excesses from the Indian side.
" Nepalese people must do something about it while political parties are too corrupt.."

No border encroachment, attack on Nepali people: Indian embassy
The Indian embassy in Kathmandu has refuted reports appearing in the Nepalis media that India has encroached upon Nepalis land and forcefully evicted Nepali people from their villages.
Issuing a statement Friday, the Indian embassy also said that India's border security force - the Seema Suraksha Bal - has not committed any atrocities against the Nepali people as has been reported.
The embassy said it cross-checked the facts with the concerned Indian authorities following border related reports appearing in the Nepali media and found the allegation of encroachment of Nepali territory and attack on the Nepali people by SSB personnel totally baseless.
The embassy further said it has not yet received any formal information on the Dang incident from the Nepali government and also confirmed that no border pillar has been shifted or tampered with.
"These baseless reports have been devised to shatter the cordial ties between Nepal and India," the release said.
Meanwhile, Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood met newly-appointed foreign minister Sujata Koirala today and voiced his concern over what he called baseless reports regarding incursion and encroachment of Nepalis land.
Emerging from the meeting, a visibly agitated Sood told journalists in his native Hindi that there has been no border encroachment or attack on Nepali people, and that reports claiming the same are meant to weaken the ties between the two countries. nepalnews.com June 06 09

It is outright negligent on the part of Nepali Government to not make any public statements or verifiable/valid inquiries on the news of border encroachment that have been floating in the internet for quite a while. As responsible citizens of Nepal, please participate in a petition against this illegal encroachment of Nepal and a demand for third party verification of this report. Nepal government has to seek a formal verification of this report including a third party observers preferably the UN.

BARA, June 8 - District Survey Office Bara claims it has an authentic map to substantiate that the Indian side has encroached upon Nepali territory in the district.
According to the survey office, the Indian side has encroached upon about 20 hectares of Nepali territory between Pillar No 25 and 26 at Jhitakaiya VDC.
“The Indian side encroached upon our territory before our eyes and the government did not help us protect our land,†said Ramsakhi Dusadin of Jhitakaiya. She said Indian farmers had been cultivating their land.
“We have an authentic map that clearly shows that the encroached land belongs to Nepal,†said surveyor Dipak Kumar Singh at the office. Singh blamed authorities for not taking initiatives to stake claim on the encroached territory.
According to local people, Indian farmers backed by Indian police had captured their paddy field on Oct. 2, 2004. The victims submitted a memorandum to the then prime minister and local administration seeking help to get their land back, to no avail.
“Our own government did not help us. Authorities are indifferent to the issue of encroachment,†said Gopalji Prasad, another local.
