Nepal's Progressive Democracy: Achievement of Three Attempts

"I know I don't have food to eat, but I will lose my appetite if I am successful in snatching an "ordinary" person's meal and throwing it away; I will loot and eat, but I will make sure an ordinary person remains hungry". People around the world may find this mentality insane; however, this is the foundation of Nepal's democracy. The person who defined democracy, Abraham Lincoln, could never have imagined what his dream would invite. In my opinion, the people of Nepal have enjoyed more democracy than any other country, including the US and its founder, and the visionary Lincoln.
In the 70s and 80s, Nepal was one of the fastest growing economies of South Asia. People were enjoying the "peace" that Nepalese monarchy had established. We had the right to whatever we had imagined. In the late 80s and early 90s,--when I was a child-someone trying to steal from anyone's house was a national news; people used to get concerned about. The crime rate was almost negligible. People used to roam around anytime freely as they did not dear threat from anyone. Nepalese used to sing and dance with whatever they had and were satisfied with their life. There were songs of nationalism and patriotism. The poets wrote more about Nepal rather than love or life. We would sleep peacefully at night, not only in our own house, but everywhere. Then came the 90s, when the Indian national Girija was elected as the prime minister of Nepal. Even then, leaders had revolted for democracy, and Nepal got democracy the second time-the first being the downfall of Rana regime. No sooner had Nepal started to enjoy democracy, Girija started selling major hydropower projects to India. He even sold some sovereign land of Nepal to the Indians. From 1991, Girija and his cabinet explored various opportunities in corruption, crime, drug dealing, and making Nepal unstable. Fed up of these, the ordinary Nepalese were ready to revolt against the government. The Indians used this as an opportunity to destabilize Nepal and helped Maoists to fight against the state. We would see demonstrations everyday by the opposition parties. The most common slogan that I as a seven year old heard was "Jan Hatyaro Girija-Bharat tir Chirija" (killer Girija, go to India). This was Mr. Girija's reputation back in 1991 when I was growing up. Every day, the demonstration kept worsened.
In 1996, I witnessed the first corpse of a UML leader who was killed by Maoists. Ordinary people can never imagine how brutally a human can kill another human. I was thinking-animals in Nepal might be safer than the humans. Unfortunately, we could not disguise ourselves as an animal. Almost after ten years, we lost even our own family members in this war, and even at a greater degree of brutality than I had seen. The statistical report-with no record of degree of error-states Nepal lost about 13000 people in this civil war. For many, the war ended in 2006, but we all know that war has not ended. Earlier, the terrorists used to kill; now we have diplomatically replaced the "terrorists" with "YCL, Maoists, JTMM" or in their various synonyms. What could be more pity that no one dares to arrest these criminals? Shameless enough, the people who lost their family members ask the leader of the terrorists to beg for an apology. Any rationale person would fail to see why he-as the terrorist chief-is never indicted for instigating crime.
After losing 13000 people, some people go to shake their bloody hands. If any country is supporting a dictator/terrorist like Nepal Maoists and leaders, then may their country get the same type of leaders; this is what all Nepalese can wish and pray. I wonder how the world is seeing this stage as a progress of this country. Everyone is aware that Prachanda does not have any answer for the people whose family he killed. "Mr___, I know we killed your father, son, raped your daughter, wife and mother, but I also gave you the liberty to enjoy democracy", imagine the Maoist chief telling these words to ordinary citizens after he assumes power in Nepal government. Unless otherwise blessed with a "chicken's brain", any person with a "human brain" is well aware of Nepal's future.
Now that the King exited the palace without restraint, handful Nepalese enjoyed the scene. "Now he is at the same level; my house is better than his house; why did the crown prince wear good suits, why did he offer prayers to God, why did he speak, why is he in a better condition than me", questioned many to themselves. However, "I will not work hard to be like him, I will enjoy seeing him devastated", the same mind spoke.
We all Nepalese are garnered the Gurkha spirit, with a human brain which is no less than the King or the Crown Prince. With all this, you can also be a towering personality that the world praises you. You will feel happiness when the same monarch praises you, and you will feel proud to be what you have made by yourself. As the old proverb says, a father truly wins the day he is defeated by his own son. Laughing at someone who is richer than you, getting jealous of someone who is more respected than you, does not advance you; rather, it is an indication of devastation-the sooner you realize you are on the verge of it, change your belief. Now even after getting democracy the third time, common Nepalese are hungry yet again. Nothing has changed other than the greater degree of devastation, instability and terrorism. The excuse of "blame everything on King" is not applicable anymore and people are suffering more everyday. Even then, the leaders of Nepal proudly say "We are committed to Democracy"-a scenario that Lincoln never dreamed of.

Why were the bodies cremated so soon without the post mortem?

Under whose order was this done without any proper investigation? This is the question I want answered now that the royal powers are gone.

Time to move on Bhusan bro..........you want to probe the Royals more???......Why dont you focus on main issue.............why hasnt the goverment done anything to develope Nepal  yet???......The King is already an ordinary citizen.........He has given up his throne without a fight.....THINK if you killed your whole family to come to power...would you give your ultimate sacrifice  up because your strangers opposed it???...Bro The army was within one command away from the king to make nepal a military coup(marshall law)...yet we know who were the rioters......the parties brought busses and truck loads of people to surround the palace and break curfue ////////////..............If you still think the king is a Monster......He has prooved you wrong....He stepped down with grace...without a complain saying if people want me out Im out....Try that from a NETA...LOOK at Girija clinging to power....and how the parties are fighting to rule nepal..........Just LOGIC bro....MOVE ON...the damage has been done...lets try to save Nepal from India.

Nepalese are born to bittccchh about India.  Most of the forums are racist.  All Indians should know that Nepalese hate India.
