Axe band?? U must be kidding, well... I thought they were some crappy lmusicans, like any other mushrooming Nepali band. Never taken seriously. But I heard some of them songs and honestly.....Man, they rock. I like most of their songs. When Nepal's most wanted band 1974 AD is not giving any hits, on the other hand, all the members are busy on self promotion be it Nirakar or Firoj or Manoj for that matter. Do u think its time for The Axe Band to replace them? However I think they have to work hard on lyrics.

Check this out

BM Bro, I think you previously recommended this guitarist here in sajha before. I have seen his cover. He seems to be really a gifted guiatrist to be able to play everything by ear. One thing that bothers me ...he can replicate the sound but can he compose as well ?

BM bro, thanks again for bringing this up.

The guy has 3 bands and travels all over Mexico doing gigs. He's got a new album coming up. I listened to a demo, it sounds great. He's very generous, he answers to your question. Well I migth not have mentioned this guy Gustavo Guerra, a native Brazilian. He's damn good, but little chubby, always smiles like a retard (HAHAHAHA). He has a video jamming with Paul Gilbert, check his site.He endores a guitar company that's Brazilian, you'll see him on trade shows.

If you want to check all his video, here's the link

Well, well.............enough of 1974 AD.

Sorry, AD fans, I dont mean to offend you but just let me know what has AD given in last couple of years? They are, no doubt the most popular band in Nepal but it seems, they are now taking it for granted. Not even a single hit for last couple of years. Adrian is going solo, Phiroj is going solo and Manoj is busy with his own new studio and heard he is engrossed with composing other's songs (and of cousre with his heartbeat Malvika---Lucky bastard)....

Together they will make  a perfect band but seems the teamwork is not going well. Ive not heard any great number from them..............

Sara Khushi is a wonderful song by Adrian Pradhan but will u give its credit to 1974 AD? I think not.

In fact, Im also one of the craziest fans of AD, Man I used to die listen them. Spent whole 1000 Rupees for unfogetable ROCK YATRA in Stadium. For me 1000 Rs for a concert was really really HUGE money, I didnt even have 5 rupiya to have Chiya pani.....

All the AD songs which I listen are old, if u know any new songs please do let me know.......

1974 AD rock , I m never tired of listening these songs but again..........all these songs r more than 5-6 yeras old

--------------
So here comes one more GREAT number from THE AXE BAND

Amazing bro, its nice to hear about your opinion.

I think if one is to judge a band or the musician by the popularity or the how many hitd they can generate then I wonder what is your view if we are to compare ....Guns N Roses with ...Snoop Dog.. or any other best selling contemporary "magician".

To me "Chiya Barima" is the best from them- the version with Beatle inspired guitar lead.

i_nepali bro, yep in terms of quality I strongly agree with you that 1974 Ad is far better than The Axe Band, but I hope AD will be more serious otherwise it might loose its own music lovers, I hope 1974 Ad will be milestone in Nepali music. I wish it wont just be history.

By the way, as you live in UK and very much into music, are you familiar with this song and the singers? I love this song........absolutely

Axe is better... hands down.

Lyrics and drumming might be their weakest link, but hey...Sarad Shrestha along with Hari Maharjan is the best guitarist in Nepali popular music. The bass lines are loud and clear not forgetting very groovy. What else do you expect?

Sarad, in one word is awesome.Nobody plays funky riffs like he does in the pop scene. We would have to give it to him for being an innovator and giving the Nepali listeners something "different".

On the otherhand,1974 AD -screw them.Every song they have come up is heavy on melody and lot of shredding by Mr. Syngden, and maybe that is their mantra to success. They sound like Scorpions and all those bands from the 80's.

Eff em

amazing bro, the song your referring to is from Albatross, you tube it.

Personally I would rank Nepathya after 1974 A.D. I think their music is very unique and innovative and has a nepali pan rather than plain rock. Also I also liked Uglyz and Albatross seemed promising but they just have 1 hit.

What about Mukti N Revival, Robin N looza?

1974 AD is great. No question about that. But The Axe Band has kind of that raw, simplistic look about their songs and yet mesmerizes me no end when I hear songs like CHIYA BARI MA.  As a whole they seem so complete band to me at the same time maintaining their simplistic look to their songs. Melodywise, I would rate Axe WAY TOO AHEAD of many other bands including 1974 AD.
