The maoists are moving very fast instilling a sense of fear across the capital with their exploitation and lootings. They have been gradually destroying the sense of security in the capital. Now that they have unfettered access to all establishments and households, they have been seeping into the everyday lives of people through plain exploitations.

The law is playing deaf to all Maoist actions. After Maoists have come into the political mainstream, life in the capital is slowly turning into a state of lawlessness. Maoist cadres have been entering households and looting with the help of guns and knives. If anyone resists they get severely beaten up.

These maoists looters mostly target well to do houses and enter in groups mostly at night. There have been some looting during the daytime as well but most of these victims do not report to the police for fear of more retaliation. The looters warn them not to report to the police otherwise they would come back to bomb their house.

The maoists are trying to control business functions as well as seen in their attempts to close up different industries. There have been cases where they have physically attacked business owners for not doing as told.

What kind of democracy is this? Gradually the maoists are seeping into the everyday life of the capital and that too not by popular demand but by forceful exploitation. Today one person's house gets robbed. Tomorrow another person's house gets robbed, but noone speaks out because of fear of retribution. One day it's going to be your house and believe me that day is not far.

The victims consider them lucky to have gotten away without any physical injuries or with their lives intact. What about the emotional scar that they carry with them for the rest of their lives? Who is to blame for this? And who is going to take any action against these looters?

Things are getting serious in the capital now. Every one who is a middle class or upper class is a target of these atrocities. The widespread tales of looting is mostly kept a secret but chances are you already know someone personally whose house has been robbed or exploited under the threat of lethal arms.

I have always been raising a red flag to the coalition of Maoists with the SPA because once the Maoists got into the capital, things were not going to be good. But now it's too late for that, they are already in the capital and their exploitations have begun.

What can be done now? What can we do now? We have to think of something before it's too late. We need to mobilize some kind of defense against these armed looters.

Recent call to Nepal revealed a scary fact , our loved ones are living a life of fear and uncertainity. Its like anyone and everyone on the streets can do anything and everything, Lawless, curroptution, extortion, looting etc etc..........me and most of us here like IMI. memyselfand nepal, karmarana, saroj etc etc had seen this situation comming even before this all started........and this doesnot surprise me at all......Now what can we do about this?????? basicaly in my point of veiw......every neighbourhood, tole and city should have a meeting from all the home owners i mean everyone who lives there and business in that particular tole, gao, city. And set a neighbourhood security plan....local citizens check posts............organized house checking of all suspected people living in groups for weapons and ammo, send clear messages to the maoists and anyone who is found lootin to face the citizens extreme punishments.....of zerotolerance. mmmmmmmmmmmmm this seems not to be effective...or achieable at all but anyways what do you guys think....can something like this be done to protect our folks?? since the security forces have been so quiet these days........

In the villages the people could not form much resistance because of lack of flow of information.

In the city, everyone can become informed very fast due to good flow of information. Media might hide things because they are afraid of the Maoist. Hence it becomes our duty to inform as many people as we can through email about keeping safe and about finding ways to resist these looters.

The desktop democracy fighters are now all quiet because they were all living in a make believe world full of assumptions as I had pointed out to them. They were all hoping that things will take a positive turn, but many of us had doubts and they had a blast name calling us this and that.

They must have felt like heroes releasing 20 pages long press releases in sajha about how the maoist spa alliance is going to be the greatest thing in nepal.

Now the future is looking bleak so they are all hiding like a scared dog with their tails tucked beneath their belly. Even their own families are at risk of being attacked and/or extorted by the looters.

I bet they will come back saying it will take time. Yes give the maoist more time to run their extortions on everyday people who work hard everyday to feed their families.

The great Nepe ends up with few shayaris a week, gone are his bloated out bluebooks for democracy.

The great Poonte ends up with few dohoris in chautari, gone are his big long essays on democracy and his promise to go back to Nepal and become a part of democratization.

The great newuser is nowhere to be seen. Just like his assumptions of greatness, we can assume he is doing great knowing the state of democracy.

Lastly sardarsingh the great who was ready to kill anyone who stood against his support for maoist and SPA, what are your feelings now about all the maoist extortion, looting and exploitations?

It is very surprising to see all here we all are wasting our energy and intellectual wisdom here while the blog owner’s priorities lies some other issues like political instability in distant neighbor Thailand recently. Even though many of us in this forum are completely ignorant about what the Maoist has been doing until now after April 06 development. Folks, while our own house is on fire we are thinking dousing how to put down flame in Thailand’s internal affair. In my opinion, our is more serious and we might be in road ike on the way of becoming another Afgansthan very soon. Our ancient civilization and it’s roots, our treasures, heritage, and institutions all are being systematically attacked, destroyed and being targeted one by one by this SPA alliance dominated by the Maoist.
Are we going to accept this?

Under this Maoist administration their political agenda is already in work. Terrorism is back. The liberty of common people like public speaking, gathering and free flow of ideas are suffocated. Maoists, at gun point, are forcefully taking school children to attend party rally and civilians. Many such hostages are being killed; ransom extortion and gang politics with guns and bullets became part and parcel of their way of governing. From a peaceful tolerant nation, we became one of the most violent country. Do we really need any Maoist in the Government? Is not enough that we had already been experienced the legacy of their decade old mayhem that almost destroyed us. What is the problem to these Maoists to accept democratic values? Why they can not join in a democratic process to heal and throw their culture of Guns, bullets and united to rebuild our nation from her ruins. They will find out it has been easy to destroy but how difficult to rebuild its foundations, heritage and its values while providing honest and corruption free governance. Enough is enough, let start from this blog and start to spread values, ethics, discipline and honesty to help rebirth of a new Nepal where we can live peacefully and enjoy.

As you might have heard the Maoists are involved in illegal taxation on goods being imported into different areas.

The government is incompetent and napusak because they cannot even stop this kind of illegal activity. Don't they feel ashamed being in the government that cannot do anything against these illegal activities that are going on?
