*******************************************************
The daughter of former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala ? who heads the Nepali Congress party ? told APTN on Friday that her 81-year-old father was under house arrest.

Decrying Gyanendra's power grab, she said the king now faces two forces: the Maoist rebels and the ousted politicians.

"I don't know how the king is going to survive," Sujata Koirala said.

A number of political leaders were meeting underground, trying to work out how they would oppose the king's actions, she said, calling on the international community to impose sanctions on Nepal and stop "giving aid to this dictatorial government."

*********************************************************************

All,
I'm appalled at what Sujata Koirala said in this news that she's calling on the international community to impose sanctions on Nepal. What a bs way of protesting against King's move!

Does she even realize, to the slightest extent, the implication of calling on such sanctions for Nepal? Why should she or other politicians care - as they've amassed billions of rupees of public money for their personal security. The ultimate brunt of international sanctions will have to be borne by the general public. At a time when the Internation community is already contemplating on such move - we don't need no corrupt politician calling on them to impose sanctions on Nepal. This shows the politicians' utter disregard for the well-being of the general Nepalese people.

I'm not a supporter of the King's move. But I can't be more angry after reading this news - makes me think that the King did the right thing.

Suvachintakji,

Gyanendra ko side lidai ma tyas lai desh sewa bhanna milla jasto lagena? How can Gyanendra sewa be tantamount to desh sewa, please can you comprehend it ?

I go to Nepal every year. Bidyarthi hu taipani yearly janchu. Dherai obligations pura garnu cha maile. Harek palta tapai ka dusman haru Makune, Sakune lai ghar ma bolauchu, kura garchu. Congressi pani auchan - Poudyal, Narhariji ityadi, ityadi, Sab ma jasta sano bidyarthi le bolauda pani auchan. Tapai ko Gyanendra ko mantri RadhaKrishna pani auchan bolauda. Lokendra Chand ityadi pani maya nai garchan.

I think that's enough.

It's a shame that Sujata is talking like a PAKKA PRAJANTANTRABADI. She is one of the main culprits of this fate of Nepalese democracy. She amassed a lot of property by misusing her father's position and also gave wrong advices to her father which destroyed congress party too. She should be thrown into prison for 20 years.

ideal solution:

First get rid of all the corrupted dirty politician....put charge of corruption and throw them out in jail...I know king can do this ..king is the hero!!!

Then supress maoist !!! they are the most stupid cowards in nepal..killing innocent people...I know king and his royal army can do this!!!!!...hero again.

Then all the nepali should wake up and throw this 'Nalayak' dictetor and sponsor bhai marra out of 'raj gaddi' and fresh start of new Nepal. Long live nepali people!!!!
