You like that song??? Dayummmmmmm!!!! I like Rafi's version of this song... nobody could have sung better than him... not even Lata Mangeshkar, coz her version really sucks compared to Rafi's... Hmmm... I just read an interview of Lata Mangeshkar couple of months ago... and according to her, sometime musicians made her dub the songs already sung by male playback singers because director of the movie wanted a female version of the same song. And when it came to dub Rafi's song, she would always make her musicians lower the scale of the song. One such song was from the movie "Junglee". The song was "Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujhpar"... which was already sung by Rafi. Shankar-Jaikishan was the musician of the movie, and they wanted Lata to sing the female version few weeks before the movie was released. They insisted Lata to sing the song on the same scale as Rafi sang it. According to Lata, it was pain in the neck matching the notes hit by Rafi and by the time they completed the recording, her whole face and ears were red. hehe...

Okay, enuff wit history... :P baal dine hola... here's Teri ankhon bhanne song... Rafi's version... written by Majrooh Sultanpuri (He was muslim but studied Hindi litrature and was known as one of the prominent poets in Hindi).

Kalanki, I agree Rafi was among greats.. love his songs..but this story, even if lata herself would say this, which i believe is outta respect , admiration for the legend himself and OF COURSE ELDER and SENIOR; she was merely paying respect. I firmly believe she could match Rafi's pitch or scale or even better it. It MAY be true that there is only one Rafi, but it is DEFINATELY CERTAIN that therez only one LATA :).

( By the way, i had visited Lata's resturant' Yrssssssss back, so many tyams... the foods were as deliciously as her melodies :) ).

Butter chicken, mutter paneer, daal fry sanga alu paratha and butter naan.. ahhhhhhhhhh :) Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
