In a recent radio show organized by BBC Nepali Sewa, transmitted today (May 17, 2009), Dr. Babu Ram Bhattrai sait he "has a dream of making Nepal atleast like USA or Europe in next 15/ 20 years.". Shouldn't we work to fulfil his dream? But do we trust his words anymore? BTW, there is speculation that LTTE's Chairman, Prabhakaran has committed suicide. They are trying to confirm his body doing DNA testing.

I have not heard much about Bhagwan Koirala but many people are calling him a good person so that chances are he is a good person. If Baburam is firing a good person for political advantage or just to get his folk in the job then it makes him a bad person. It would not make him any different than Desh Dhrohi Congress and Indian Dalals UML. Do you know how much of a check is written by the government daily....lol....there will be 100s of crores written by government in daily expenses....you should keep track of other amounts cashed in after that day too......becasue prachanda is still in power...cant believe people are advocating to freeze the country till the new government is formed. I am sorry for your bitterness...but i am scared there will not be another FM who will be more qualified than him in Nepal. There are lots of more qualified people in the world but there aren't any in Nepal. I will pray for your healing....as the cure doesn't seem anywhere near peace !!!

qualified in case of Phd, i think ram sharan mahat is also a phd. I know you must be aware...but qualified to feed his YCL and PLA or to provide more budget to Gorkha (his district) you call it a qualified I dunno about that..

Dr. Bhattarai is the best FM for the following reasons: 1) He had targeted 8% growth rate and $5000 per capita income in 3-4yrs time. But he reached that target in a year. 2)He said nepal would be switzerland once they are in power. Now look, switzerland is trying to be like nepal. 3) Had a huge travelling budget. Overspent triple the amount. 4) travelled many countries (i can't count how many). Even travelled to japan without invitation. 5) Knows how to generate tax. (Don't care if students miss their SLC, I need money for the guns.) 6) A great preacher of social service. (had implemented YCL to bash up government officers if they did any wrongdoing. may be he too bashed some ) 7) a TRUE FM (always had something to say about other politicians). 8)Fair n equal (Kathmandu and Gorkha got 4 times the money than others. but i don't know who took it.) Guys help me to list them. I am tired.....

आव ०६५/६६ को चैतसम्ममा ९८ अर्ब ६७ करोड रुपियाँ राजस्व संकलन ।
यस तथ्यांकले चार वर्षको अवधिमा राजस् व दोब्बरभन्दा बढीले वृद्धि भएको
स् पष्ट हुन्छ । राजनीतिक अस् िथरता, बन्द, हडताल र बीसघन्टे लोडसेडिङ्ले
औद्योगिक वातावरण बिगि्रएको अवस् थामा समेत राजस् वमा भएको उल्लेख्य
वृद्धिले मुलुकको आर्थिक अवस् था गएगुज्रेकै अवस् थामा पुगेको छैन भन्ने
पुष्टि हुन्छ ।
आव ०६४/६५ कोे चैत मसान्तसम्ममा ७० अर्ब ८५ करोड
रुपियाँ राजस् व असुली भएको थियो । एक वर्षपछिको सोही अवधिमा २८ अर्ब
राजस् व बढेर ९८ अर्ब ६७ करोड रुपियाँमा पुग्यो । राजस् व अधिकारीहरूका
अनुसार यसअघि राजस् व बढ्दै आए पनि यो अनुपातमा कहिल्यै बढेको थिएन ।
०६३/६४ मा ५६ अर्ब ६५ करोड तथा ०६२/६३ को चैत मसान्तसम्ममा मुलुकले
राजस् व स्रोतबाट ४६ अर्ब ३८ करोड रुपियाँ हात पारेको थियो ।
सरकारले
चालू आर्थिक वर्षमा १ खर्ब ४० अर्ब रुपियाँ राजस् व संकलन गर्ने लक्ष्य
राखेकामा ०६५/६६ को पहिलो नौ महिनामा सबैभन्दा बढी मूल्य अभिवृद्धि करबाट
२७ अर्ब ३९ करोड रुपियाँ असुल भएको छ । त्यसैगरी करबाट १९ अर्ब २१ करोड,
भन्सारबाट १८ अर्ब ४५ करोड, अन्तःशुल्कबाट १० अर्ब ५७ करोड रुपियाँ संकलन
भएको छ भने रजिस् ट्रेसन दस् तुरबापत ३ अर्ब ७८ करोड तथा सवारी साधन
करबापत १ अर्ब ७० करोड रुपियाँ राजस् व उठेको छ । अघिल्लो वर्षको सोही
अवधिमा मूल्य अभिवृद्धि करबाट २२ अर्ब २२ करोड, करबाट १२ अर्ब ८४ करोड,
भन्सारबाट १४ अर्ब ६८ करोड, अन्तःशुल्कबाट ७ अर्ब २९ करोड, रजिस् ट्रेसन
दस् तुरबापत २ अर्ब २६ करोड, सवारी साधन करबापत १ अर्ब १५ करोड रुपियाँ
राजस् व संकलन भएको थियो ।
०६३/६४ को नौ महिनामा मूल्य अभिवृद्धि
करबाट १८ अर्ब ४ करोड, करबाट ९ अर्ब ६० करोड, भन्सारबाट ११ अर्ब ८८ करोड,
अन्तःशुल्कबाट ५ अर्ब ९३ करोड, रजिस् ट्रेसन दस् तुरबापत १ अर्ब ८७ करोड,
सवारी साधन करबापत ६७ करोड रुपियाँ राजस् व संकलन भएको थियो भने ०६२/६३ मा
मूल्य अभिवृद्धि करबाट १५ अर्ब ७७ करोड, करबाट ७ अर्ब १५ करोड, भन्सारबाट
११ अर्ब १२ करोड, अन्तःशुल्कबाट ४ अर्ब ५० करोड, रजिस् ट्रेसन दस् तुरबापत
१ अर्ब ९१ करोड, सवारी साधन करबापत ६३ करोड रुपियाँ राजस् व संकलन भएको
थियो ।
चार वर्षअघि करबापत ७ अर्ब १५ करोड रुपियाँ संकलन भएकामा चालू
आर्थिक वर्षमा त्यो रकम १९ अर्ब २१ करोड पुगेको छ । त्यसैगरी, अन्तःशुल्क
४ अर्ब ५० करोडबाट १० अर्ब ५७ करोड नाघेको छ भने सवारी साधन कर ६३ करोडबाट
१ अर्ब ७० करोड पुगेको छ ।
सरकारले नयाँ उपाय अवलम्बन गर्दै राजस् व
बढाउन सहयोग पुर्याउने कर्मचारीलाई दुई सय प्रतिशतसम्म थप सुविधा दिने
नीति लिएको थियो । सेवाग्राही कार्यालयमा लागू गरएिको सोही नीतिका कारण
पनि कतिपय कार्यालयले लक्ष्यभन्दा बढी राजस् व संकलन गरेका छन् । लक्ष्य
पूरा गर्ने कार्यालयका कर्मचारीले त्यस् तो सुविधा पाउने नियम छ । जस
अनुसार, हालसम्म राजधानीस् िथत ठूला करदाता कार्यालय, आन्तरकि राजस् व
कार्यालय धरान, भद्रपुरका कर्मचारीले ५० देखि १ सय ५० प्रतिशतसम्म थप
सुविधा पाउन सफल भएका छन् ।
Like everyone is saying here, now i would have to agree that Baburam is really a BADASS. We need more badassess like him for the country. Not sure who were collecting taxes in last 4 years but he certainly is collecting more than the last 4 years. I know many people are upset about his past but all i care is whether he can do the job or not regardless of his past. We need more leaders who can deliver, and not YAPP on things about what sajha users want to hear.

The leakage to the cantonment is very low compared to what is collected. I think what is going to the cantonment is about 1 Arab, and what he is collecting is about 23 Arab more than what has been collected previously. Please correct me if my estimates are incorrect here as i am not sure about the exact numbers allocated for " false numbers" of cantonment militias. Sid
