I just want to say that I'm not nationalistic. I'm ready to give up my flag if any other flag is going to feed hungry people in Nepal, give them better education, a place to live, better sanitation and health facilities and better prosperous future for my fellow citizens.

As pointed above, we need to be afraid of ourself rather than india. The issue of india becomes hot often to digress from the main issue. India didn't plant the seed of corruption, cast system or many other inequalities n' problems in Nepal. May be india has something to do with ongoing violence in Nepal; may be india got a grip of all the major rivers in nepal. India is not the best neighbour we like to have; but we don't have choice. As everyone knows even US, UK or europe also cooperate with India on Nepal issue.

That’s a bold statement gwajyo...well i hate the idea of giving away the flag. But if i face the bitter truth, I am not nationalist or patriotic at all, and i doubt any nepalese like myself living abroad is.We all love to brag about patriotism and stuff, but seriously how many of us will go back to Nepal to fight for Nepalese freedom if any foreign country invades our soverginity.I know I won't.So, Why not stop the Hypocrisy and face the truth. You are absolutely right, if Nepalese people can have better life under any other flag then lets go for it. The only problem is finding the other flag which will treat our people like its own and give us all that we are missing under out flag.

f22, I'm glad that you got my point. We may not need to find any other flag as rest of flags also have their own sort of problems. Nepal is not the land that contains oil or any other golden resources. We all know that we love nepal but only with our convenience. As you said, we won't go to fight for soverneighty of it, so why to brag? So, our main problem is not trying to find the root of causes. Providing food n' shelter or basic necessities should be the primary concern than any other single thing. But we're ready to give up our food n' home for the sake of ROYALS, DEMOCRACY or whatever. You might have read the earlier thread (article from kantipur). In past, girls in Nepal were sold by traffickers but now they're selling themselves. WHY?

I don't care an iota for the current freaking flag, if the real progress in all levels can come to Nepal by accepting another flag. As it is, I understand it represents the royal family more than Nepal itself (chandra surya denoting shah dynasty's bansha and what not).
