Kind of surprised that there is no halla for protests and even black flags when Indian Leaders are in Nepal.

There was a protest when your own countrymen was in New York, but when indians are coming to Nepal then nothing....

What happened to samudaya.org people? They say they didn't sponsor the event but looks like they are involved heavily.

So what happen???Why no protest in INdian Embassy....What happened to the organizers of so banauda protest?

Pade Queen I think you go way overboard in your support of India. I've been observing your Pro-India thread and all I can think of you is that you are a stupid argumentative person who thinks only your way is the right way. Okay let me speculate. You went to Indian School or probably went to India for higher studies which has made you very loyal to India. Or else one or both of your parents are Indians. Understandable. But that doesn't mean that you can do or say everything to win your pro-india argument. If I recollect correctly, you even said Buddha was born in India or something similar to that last year. I'm not saying that all of your arguments are bullshit. It generally starts fair and later on to win those arguments you start bullshitting. So cut the crap and get back to your research or whatever you are doing.

fountaindew,
When Buddha was born there was no Nepal as of now. Kapilvastu was a tribal state which paid it's tribute to the state of Maghada. Buddha probably spoke Magadhi language. the whole area came under Bharat Bharsha. that is the truth. i don't want to fo into details but I suggest u to read the history book written by Percival Landon to read what the perception a great Buddhist monk had of Nepala (that we know as Ktm valley). He came to india during the time of Emperor Harsha's reign but did not enter ktm valley. he heard stories that it was inhabitated by savages.

Yes, u are absolutely right. i went to india for my education and my parents are indians. are u happy now? if telling the truth invokes calling names so be it.

it's 5 am i need to go now.

Pade Queen, seems to me like you have studied quite a lot of history. But the question of where was "He" born has caused many wars over centuries. Christians and Jews have fought wars against the muslims just to make sure that Jerusalem is theirs. Nepal is in such a good position that most of the international community recognizes the fact that Buddha was born in Nepal and now you come up with an argument saying that it wasn't Nepal, it was some tribal land. That's certainly hillarious. And according to you, since Nepal is tied to India culturally, linguistically, and religiously, I should consider myself an Indian??

And some of the points that you mentioned.

1. We will shift Nepal geographically next to Shanghai: They have already started a bus route to Tibet and soon it might be extended up to China. They might start a train route in future. Who knows what will happen?

2.We will survive on our own. We will eat hawa. : How can you eat hawa, you can only breathe hawa. Like I said your arguments are ridiculous.

3. We nepali are self-sufficient. We can thrive on our own: Nobody is self sufficient. Not even America. So much of American economy depends on China. But yeah you are right. A big portion of Nepalese economy depends on India. But look at what Nepal can offer to India (or China). Lots of Electricity!! Only if those chore Netas and Gyane were not so corrupt. There was so much Nepal could ask in return.

4. we will not listen to hindi songs, see hindi tele dramas/movies: I don't see any harm in that. We see English movies, it's not ours. Yeah I agree with you on this. Some people are superpatriotic.

5. we will stop brushing our teeth - colgate india : There's a Colgate Nepal too.

6. we will stop wearing clothes - as all the raw materials (cottons ..) come from india. :
Most of it comes from China now. Oh you didn't know that??? Which century are you living in??

7. we will stop breathing air -the air also comes via india.: Okay now your arguments are getting really stupid and childish.

8. we'll say goodbye to rains - monsoon rains come from bay of bengal. : YOu went wayyy overboard to win your argument.

Oh crap.. I wasted my time on this. Pade Queen you win. I give up.

India dominates Nepal economically and socially. Nepal has to live with India. Nepal has no other choice. But this does not mean that we will let India whatever she wants. Nepal is still a soverign country filled with fools. We need to be strong internally so that we can deal with foreign force diplomatically. Girjia is no good. He is proven traitor. So, his dealing with Indian leaders is very dubious.

India has a histroy of intervetntion. Srilanka is a prime example. Their support to LTTE and later the assisination of Rajeev Gandhi supports this fact. They are the super powe in south asia to reckon with.

Its not about being close with India or China. Its about globalization and Nepal should be open to both India and China. But country like India should never interfere in the internal matters of Neapl.

Supporting democracy is not wrong. But supporting traitors like Girija is absolutely wrong. Supporting terrorists like maosits is absolutely wrong.

Now about the issue of the Budhha. Check the unseco site. It will give you an answer of where the almighty was born.

But at that time Lumbini used to be independent country. But now its in Nepal. His messages are for peace and harmony to all. Its in the heart of the people. So the Budhha belongs to whole world.

Ashoka stupa stands as a testament to where Buddha was born. And, there have been many more archaeological findings since the stupa was dug out that give proof beyond resonable doubt that Buddha was born in the area which falls inside present day Nepal.

I've never said that Buddha was not born in Nepal - what I have said time and again is at the time of Buddha there was no area called Nepal as such. We are plain lucky that Lumbini, Kapilvasatu and other many areas of historical significance today lie within Nepal's territory.

Why should I go to the UNESCO website to verify the truth about the location of Buddha's birth?

Wel guys, there has been a lot of discussuion on whether Nepal survives or not san India.......pade queen no. whatever seems to be championing the cause of most of the benarasi-bred nepali leaders today. Ofcourse , Nepal is close to India socially, geographically and ecoomically. But it will be suicidal to hand over Nepal's politics to India. India never wanted a stable government in Nepal. She wanted Nepal to be an umbrella state,. Courtesy of under-visioned leaders and so calles maoists of our country , India is succeeding.

Better not to spend too much time slapping Pade Queen No. 1 here. She (he?) talks childish... well, let her be chld... Baal Hath bhanchhan ni.. ha ha... Don't take it seriousely what she talks shit here.

But guys, we all MUST start thinking/acting/bahaving on this motto for the existence of NEpal:

Nepal has every RIGHTS TO SURVIVE AS EQUALLY AS EACH COUNTRY OF THE WORLD

Neither So called leaders of Nepal. Gyane, Maoists are following above motto.. that motto is not only for Nepal.. that's the one for every country. Every citizen of every country should be proud of his/her country, and according do karma!!!

Pade,

If you talk about luck, we are just unlucky not to have an ocean. Indians are lucky not to be Brit colony and so on. SO you argument does not hold any relavance. Back to the topic, if Indians shut the border, Nepal will be in daire state. But they will not have any reason for it if we do not interfer in their matters. But on the otehr hand they are interfering in Nepalese matters. They should never meddle in Nepalese matters.

There will be struggle and fight until there is njustice. This is the mantra any powerful nation should know. Look at Israel, they are finally backing off after such a long war.

India is power player in South Asia. There is no doubt about it. But we need leadership that do not let India take advantage of Nepal in each and every treaty.

It seems u guys have no other work to do than getting mad at India. We have thousands of other problems to tackle to bring Nepal safely to the shore. India is a non-issue.

Someone above has compared Israel with Nepal --------l I feel like laughing.

We are not surrounded by hostile Muslim nations like Israel from within and outside. We are being eaten by our own internal problems - the parasites are within us. They are not invading from outside.

U all getting mad at India is not going to affect her a wee bit. What happened during Hritik kanda. we fools ended up destroyed our own things.

Here u go"We are not surrounded by hostile Muslim nations like Israel from within and outside. We are being eaten by our own internal problems - the parasites are within us. They are not invading from outside."

Pade,

I think your last post was directed to me as I was the one who brought an example of Israel.

I agree that we cannot take on India and we are in deep shit because of parasites in the name of leaders. But again if youlook at the India's record its not clean. Bhutan, her econmy and security is totally controlled by India. Sikkim used to be separate country but its leaders sold it out to India. India's support to LTTE during Indira Gandhi's era. India's army deployment into Sri Lanks. Raw and ISI gang bang in Nepalese terrotory. Nepalese territory enroachment in border.

Damns that do not follow international rule.

So, we do not have an honest neighbor. But every other country will take advantage of the weaker country. Thats the histroy and thats just natural.

So, we gotta stand up for our rights. Use the diplomatic means.

The negotiation with Girja is too skeptical. Cynical nature of Girija has been proved over and over again. Other thing is the one who visited Nepal were communits who had a meeting with maoists. So, people has every right to be skeptical and raise their voice and ask the questions about the motives.

Peace

The question "Can Nepal survive without India" has already been answered in action. In Sajha we only have words. It has been proven in reality by late Rajiv Gandhi to Marich Man Singh and Late Birendra Shah. Go ask your fathers and mothers. They'll tell you how they survived on pauroti and pani.

For those who have no clue what I am talking about, RNA acquired weapons from China w/o consulting India first. Rajiv Gandhi closed the borders. No Petrol. No Diesel. No Kerosene. No Cooking Gas. No Medicines. No Vegetables. No Soap. No Toothpaste. No question whether Nepal can survive w/o India.

That does not mean that we have to bend over and let them have their way though. A hostile India means Nepal is doomed just like an unstable civil war torn Nepal means that India (though not doomed) has major problems.

Accepting the truth in this case and living with pride and dignity are not mutually exclusive.

ok all the pro-indian people out there, the political leaders are now seeking india's help coz they want the king out.but the nepali people are aware of india's dream of having nepal as second sikkim.so no matter how much ever india tries to be chummy with nepal, the distance caused by mistrust will always be there.and yes, the pro-indians, u are not going to have second sikkim.
