Everyone makes it sound like you have to get married. Does one have to get married?
I am happy on my own and don't think I want to get married.

Cool thanks. So what's going on? Is someone pressuring you to get married when you don't want to?

Marriage is so overstated by movies and society. Lot of people thesedays are realizing marriage is not a necessity. It is not necessary to have kids either. Society and relatives makes it sound like you're a loser if you don't but more people are becoming progressive thesedays regarding marriage.

What do you do if you get married to someone thinking of filmy relationship then you realize after marriage that you can't live with that person? What if you have a kid and then realized you can't spend the rest of the life with that person?

Love is blind, marriage is the eye-opener.
Source: Internet

MY personal opinion:
-It's good ot get married. I might not have a concrete data to support my own statement but thats what i feel.
-It's good to have a companion and a life partner . Its more like mental/physical/moral support for both sexes.

However, the last call is always yours. You take it and deal with it . Its a whole package anyways.

 Wonton,

I hear you. Yeah, social pressure can get pretty heavy. It is the unstated expectation that sometimes weighs heavier on us. We almost feel judged to the point that we start to question ourself...right?

But how do you feel? It seems like you enjoy your single life and feel quite comfortable with it, if it weren't for social pressure, right?

I agree with whatswhat, I have seen quite a few people who are in their 40s and not married. Some got marrited but no kids.
There is no fixed rule that we have to get married and have kids. Sometime I fell like people don't even know what they are doing, they are just doing what others are doing - thats why our population is 7 billion while we were 3 billion in 1960. This is little bit out of topic but I do really believe that there are lot of people out there that should not have had kids or got married.

Wait, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai...wasn't he the same guy who said that he became Prime Minister because he enjoyed getting cheap whiskey?

Well you should tell Mr Bhattarai that the reason you get a buffalo despite being able to buy milk in the market is because this way you can make sure no one waters down the milk with dirty water. Making your kids drink milk watered down with polluted water is very injurious to health.

I think once you are married, days of you having fun are over.  applies both to men and women.. if you get married early like 20-21 and have children, you get old pretty sooner cos of all that burden and responsibilities..
it's complicated.. some may like to get mature soon, but for me, I'm 30 and I think ' abhi to khelney kudney ka din hai.. "
hahahahhaahhaha..

what i think is it all depends on how you take marriage. if you think marriage (more specifically, your spouse) is going to put an end to your freedom, then it's not for you.there is no need to feel pressure just because all your friends are getting married. you might seem and feel like a lonely goose when you hang out with your friends' couples but things keep on changing and they get better with time. but if you think having a person to share things will make your life at least a little bit happier and easier, go for it. if you are talking about living together with your partner without any commitment, be prepared for the kind of response you'll get from your family and society. if you want to live together, why not get married? that will satisfy folks back home too. and if it doesn't work out, divorce is right around the corner as it has always been.

seems like a lot of people are concerned about not being able to have 'fun' after marriage. well people, fun is not just drinking until you pass out during the weekends. neither it is having sex with hookers. if you think marriage is not fun just because your spouse will put an end to your activities as such, that's just ridiculous.

dude,
not so long ago, just 72 hours ago..there was this news. stat showed fewer people than ever are getting married. they live in together but not getting married. the figure was scary low.
check this news : http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/americans-married-poll-article-1.991402

all my friends who got married, they looked so old and tired even if they're of my same age.. may be I do workout.. I dunno but their stretch on their forehead.. I can clearly see that. And then their wives 'kach-kach.. '...

when you'll get married, you'll know what I was talking about? at first look, it seems whao... the idea of getting married seems fabulous.. huh.. then suhagraat, every night fun, emotional support .. there is but comes with price.. lol... you'll realize what I was talkinga bout.. .. doesn't make sense at the moment, anyway..

so, if you finished the link reading, smart and intelligent will marry at 40s.. .. only fools will marry early.. this is a current trend.
may be back in the day, in Nepal you get married when you are 13-14.. .. lol.. it's funny even to recal those silly custom..
