 Hi,
while on my opt, I had worked for chipotle and once I got a job offer I had quit and worked for a company. So, when i bring documents for h1b stamping in nepal, I need to show my 1040 form and w2 form. On my 1040 form, it shows the toal amount of earning from both my current job+chipotle. Since I will have to show w2 of both my current job and chipotle, will i get into trouble?

I worked on chipotle when i was in f1 status while on OPT but my 1040 form has the total earning from there too. Help please. Is it required I show my 1040 and w2 form at all?

Show your recent paystubs only. You can show your 1040 as well, because it shows the gross amount you made, not the breakdown of how much you made and where you made it. Do not make mistake of showing your chipotle w2.I only had my paystubs when I applied for my h1b.

Thanks that's what I am thinking too. They won't ask the corresponding w2s I would assume.

Bajara,

Could you please share your H1B stamping experience with us. When did you apply for it? Have you got apporved yet?

I applied for h1b stamping on kathmandu on sep 7 and they put me on hold with out asking any documents and they said they will let me know once the process is done. No calls received yet.

Any body here having such situation? Any suggestions? My vacation time is getting over very soon. I am worrying if I don't get my passport on time.

Thanks all in advace for your time and response.

My friend has been stuck there for little more than a week now. She hasn't received any updates either. She is really frustrated.

@jhilkey: I am going in 2 weeks, so i have not applied. I would suggest you just keep calling therm and tell them youe vacation time is almost over and hope they will quicken the procedure. I hope all goes well..I wonder if they will remain closed on dashain and tihar??

Racheeta and jhilkey, please update on the status. Is there a way we can reserve an interview date from here or start any procedure from here?

Hello,

This is just a heads up... please be prepared to be stuck for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I was there stuck for almost a month.  For interview dates, you can request them for earlier dates with a solid business case. They usually schedule your interview for earlier dates.

I had requested one and they did actually reschedule a week early. see their email below ;

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Embassy in regards to changing your visa interview date. You may come on Monday, December 20th at 9:00 am. Please bring a copy of this email with you to the interview to present to the guards at U.S. Embassy entrance.

Please note: Please keep in mind that there is no guarantee of issuance by a certain date, or at all. You should never pay for travel arrangements (e.g., airfare, hotels) without having a visa in your possession. The U.S. Embassy accepts no responsibility if you do so. We are able to issue most approved visas within two business days of interview; however, we are unable to guarantee the issuance of a U.S. visa before a fixed travel date

Regards,

Bhikari,

I will keep you posted with the status. To get the  dates for the interview please go to the US emabassy site and fill out the DS-160 form. On completion of the form you get confirmation email and you can send that confirmation to anybody here in nepal. Any one from nepal can get the interview date after providing the confirmation page and fee to the Nabil Bank. You dont have to be here to get the date.

Hope this will help. But I would not recommend you to come here for visa stamping if you dont have to. Coz waiting for the visa will give you very hard time and it is frastruating. Especially in Dashain they will remain close and may take extra time.

I think you'll still need your passport while making appointment at Nabil.

If you scroll down on this page
http://nepal.usembassy.gov/visas/non-immigrant-visas/applying-for-an-niv-in-nepal.html

How to schedule your visa interview

Nabil Bank is responsible for collecting the visa application fee and scheduling visa interviews for the U.S. Embassy. Please do not call the Embassy's consular section for any appointment information. Applicants should bring with them to Nabil Bank the following items:

  • A valid passport
  • A clear printout of the completed online visa application’s
       confirmation page (with bar code),
  • The equivalent of $140 (for B1/B2, C, D, F, I, J, and M visas) or $150 (for H, L, O, P, Q and R visas) in Nepalese rupees to pay the visa application fee.

Please note: the application fee is a non-refundable administrative processing fee. It is collected whether or not a visa is issued.
