Do it on your own, immigration laws are always changing, so best and safer way is to go directly to:

http://www.cic.gc.ca

They have put everything very simple

beyourself,

I didn't mention EAD, however EAD is Employment Authorization Document. If you are an undergraduate, you get EAD after completion of your 4 yrs degree. After graduation, you get OPT (optional practical training) for 1 year and you can work full time legally for full one year. If your company wants to sponsor you, you get H1 visa status and it will lead you to GC.

beyourself,

I think you have to study in Canada for at least one year to file for permanent residency. So, if you wanna do masters in Canada, hopefully you get your PR card within two years (u can not apply until a year and it will take another year to process). If you can sustain in Canada for two years (I mean paying for college and living expenses), it might be a good idea otherwise, you can apply from the US (if you live in the US now) and if you qualify you get your PR in a year and then you can move to Canada. Nevertheless choice is yours...

Beyourself, that's what I am saying. You can better compete in Canadian job market if you have a degree from Canadian university. That's future but what about until you graduate. You will have to start from zero there. Find apartment, job, etc etc. And I don't know if students can work or not in Canada legally. And I don't know about your savings either. Canada is ranked no.1 best place to live in the world. Because of their gun laws, crime rate is very low. They have universal health care. You never pay for your medical treatment, it's free. I heard kids education is also free. On the cons, it is cold and taxes are high. But who cares when you r getting so many benefits. I would immediately move to Canada and start doing my masters there, get married, have children. It is a good country to raise your kids and when u get old, you won't get bankrupt doing your surgeries and paying for medicines.
