DEC 26 (poush 11) is at our doorsteps, and we are
only few days away from this historic moment.
For once we newah people have
chance to show soldarity and unite. Just a take a look at our self and
where we stand. If we do not take this stand, history will never
forgive us. We newah people have always been associated with being
politically silent. Time has come to raise our voice. For most newah
people, going to julus or savha is a big deal and opt out not to get
involved for the sake of convenience. But, once again take a look at
state of our country and where it is at. If only more newahs had been
pro active in the past, our country could have been a lot better. Let's
not put the blame on anyone but ourself. Don't you think it is also our
responsibility to make our contribution? We can't dodge at our
resonsibility anymore. Newah Swattya Rajya is representation of
glorious history and colorful future that we have to shape with our own
hands. No one else can do this for us.
I am sure there a lots
of general newah people who have doubts about voicing "Newah Swattya
Rajya" would be phone call to another civil war or bring in more hatred
and divide us among the ethnic lines. But, this is politics of fear. We
have all the right to demand for Newah swattya rajya. The majority of
people who oppose this are the ruling elitist (khas), because their
stake at the political table will be diminished. Also, remember people
who are involved in this newah cause are also fervent patriots. So no
one should doubt their intentions. Surely, question could be raised
whether enough homework has been done or not regarding this topic like
exact boundary of nepal mandala not including significant newah
population outside of valley or not being done on historical basis. We
don't want any significant newah population to be left out on this
historic moment. Therefore it is very important for us to make a claim.
If we don't even make a claim, we get nothing. Maybe we will get less
than what we claim, but atleast it is better than not making any claim
and staying empty handed.
In a website, a demografic map is shown within Nepal Mandal
where there is majority of Newar people. that's wrong it should not
shown at all or not neessary at all because we should not claim the
territories where there is newar majorities but we have to claim all
territories that belonged to Nepal Mandal before unification. It
doesn't matter who are the majorities. If we just claim the areas where
there is just majority of the Newar people, there will be yet smaller
or will be smaller. In the future We Newars can be minorities in some
areas. Shall we leave that areas too ??? that's why we have to claim
Nepal Mandal as a whole it once was.There are more people of Indian origin in
Fiji than the indigenous Fijians. But that does not mean that the
Fijians should give up their land to the people of Indian origin.
DEC
26 (Poush 11) also carries great relevance in the political frontiers
as, for the first time all the newah leaders from various major
political parties will be joining in this event. Surely, they might not
have full support of their political parties but it doesn't matter at
this point of time because they will be here as a proud newah. So
people have been crossing political lines and joining, people from
various walks of life such as engineers, lawyers, medical
professionals, journalist, etc are also joining along with
reepresentatives of different guthis/groups/foundation/sangha/samaj.
Let's not belittle people who have been involved in this cause by being
cynical of everything. For once, let's join hand and show our support
and solidarity for Dec 26 (Poush 11) declaration of Newah Swattya
Rajya. Even just your moral support would uplift spirits of people who
will be standing up in Dasrath Rangsala stadium with heads held high.
