If you live here Washington DC, area, I can help you for free training. I won't charge you any money but you need to bring your laptop and one of  your friend, (Linux is knowledge sharing). at least 2 people and I can teach you for free two weekend days sat - sun for two months at least 4 hrs a day. Its up to you how much you can catch in two months.

Let me know if you are interested.

Hi Killer eyes,
I am working on this filed and just want to help nepalis. I am not consulting company. I am a person just want to help nepali. thats all. See there are more chance of getting jobs in Linux/UNIX then any other field at this time. If you live in DC area, you can come to my apt and I will just teach you what I know. I am not a professional trainer but I will teach what I know. So I am sorry there is no accommodation or food or money you will get from me. Only thing I will do is to share my knowledge for free, thats all. I am free on weekend and I can spent my 4 hours a day Sat/Sun to any Nepali who want to learn Linux/Linux for about 2 months.

hey peacesoul,
its great to hear that from you but I am little bit confused here. What is motive behind doing that. Here I found nobody do anything for free or for charity or anaything like that so I thought may be there is something behind that.

I dont have any problem if you have something behind that also as you are giving your time and effort but just wanted to know dude. I am intersted in Unix and Linux too

I have nothing like that. I have sort of free time on the weekend till 1 o'clock. I am not that much busy and good part is that I am not oncall. Just thought to help someone.

I have no motive behind other then to help Nepalis. I am not talking about helping any other people, Only Nepali. I am not expert on traning so I can teach what I know.

Dude, I have seen so many people helping so many other people. First, please throw your indian mentality from your mind out. You already started "Khutta tanne Mentality". Do you know how linux was evolved ?? Its free too. so think there are so many people who want to help people and its communuty.

Free your mind from doubt and always think +ve. Its my $.02 for rest of your life.

There are thousands of people who died for other asking nothing in return.

It is so beautiful when someone comes up with something good... in SAJHA (rare though..).

As a linux lover, I really appreciate 'peacesoul'.

Small help from all of us towards needy people might bring big different in others future and life. It is an great idea.

A genuine call, but I bet there are a lot more folks who intend to know/share about Linux/Unix. How about starting a discussion board/thread on linux/unix for people who cannot attend your "training" sessions?

I was just thinking what Grace_S said:

If you really wanna share..ill help with what little I have, but its gotta be online...

Start with SSH and the commandline :) remote login, I can spare a server for that and create accounts for anyone willing to invest time. :) Start a google group, get a project, share code via SVN and blah blah...possibility is endless. I am currently teaching two of my friends the same thing.

We dont have to meet up physically as everything is learnt via a remote terminal.

PeaceSoul..maybe something like that would be more helpful? Just a thought.

Its really good idea. I don't have my server up and running any more. I used to have it for a while. The funny part was one of my student formated my root Filesystem. Thats funny and server was down. So its sort of tough to give root password to users remotely since there is a chance to go out to other servers on the networks. Thats my personal experience. Mostly once you are internal there is very much chance you can explore other servers as well.

Having said that I am ready to teach online if someone creates a group. Lets have some platform and make it possible. Its been so long haven't worked on Linux but the core with Linux and Unix is pretty much same. I can prepare Intro Unix training material if someone is interested.

Cheers !!!!!!!!!

Guys,

I've set up a google group here: http://groups.google.com/group/tux-in-nepal.

So first and foremost, lets get this project off the ground. Anyone and everyone is invited.

Looking forward to share my knowledge as well as learn new things.

Thanks for creating a group dekchidriver,

I read it and found that the name TUX is "ALL THINGS LINUX". You choose TUX because LUX is a brand name? I think LUX may make good sense but I can be wrong. It would be good if you could include Linux/ UNIX folks just using Linux/UNIX ==>> LUX. My $0.2

I think for your effort.
Lets see how people will think of it.
