Axe band?? U must be kidding, well... I thought they were some crappy lmusicans, like any other mushrooming Nepali band. Never taken seriously. But I heard some of them songs and honestly.....Man, they rock. I like most of their songs. When Nepal's most wanted band 1974 AD is not giving any hits, on the other hand, all the members are busy on self promotion be it Nirakar or Firoj or Manoj for that matter. Do u think its time for The Axe Band to replace them? However I think they have to work hard on lyrics.

My vote goes for 1974AD, this band is musically, the best band in Nepal. I love Axe band's song like "Chiyabarima" and few others which I can't remember at the moment.
batas and i_nepali, ya I also agree with you but dont u think its high time 1974 AD should really work hard as a team? These days, it seems their solo albums are doing better than of the band. Not even any song has become hits in recent times.
They are surviving purely in thier goodwill. If things go like this, i think very soon it could be history which really is big loss for Nepali music industry.
great great band,I think they're as good as 1974. The only thing is the lyrics and the guy voice is way too clean like Karna Das. A little roughness is good for Rock genre. But I'm amazed by their hits after hits. I think they should be the next band for ANA.

The axe band is older than the 1974 AD. (Not talking about band members age). I used to listen to axe band's "पल्लो डाँडा मा बसेकि कान्छी" when I was in school. At that time 1974 AD are just forming there Band being from Gyanodaya School I know that. I have been to thier first concert in 1996.
We have to agree that 1974 AD has given us more hits than anyother band in Nepal. They are really great. The axe band are also very good band with numbers like चियाबारिमा, प्राय सधै म, ठाँडो जाने उकाली, म आउदै छु, hope to hear good music from them in future. They can also be ranked in top rockers in Nepali music industry........
Ha ha ha ha ...and the bebate goes on. I rather listen to the virtuoso, rather than bands and musicians. Here, this is one of my fav.
TK, I also think that 1974AD is the best band ever in Nepal. They are the only band to have covered country, rock, blues, jazz, folk, instrumental and so on. Vocally, I don't know but overall still the best. Axe band is not bad either.But the kind of answer for band popularity will not yield same answer. Like people saying Kurt Cobain or Nirvana is the best band, which to me is totally bullshit.
