A group of Nepalese young girls standing and waiting for clients at the entrance of Sonargachi brothel in western city of Calcutta. These girls are being trafficked into India with promises of jobs in big cities. The demand for beautiful looking Nepalese women is very high in Indian brothels and the business of trafficking of girls from Nepal and other neighboring countries is well established - some rural communities in these poor countries have been selling their children into prostitution for generations. Some Indian brothels have an infection rate of HIV as high as 75%. Once infected and sick by AIDS, these girls are usually replaced with fresh ones. Infected ones are send beck to their villages or rural communities, where once again prostitution is taken up, if not as a primary occupation, as part time. This pattern spreads infections in such remote communities where getting treatment, even for minor infections or disease, let alone HIV/AIDS is considered a dream.

Get these gals prepared and feature them in web site. They will beat all of the Nepal's so-called-models.
But let's not compare everything with modelling. Maybe they don't want modelling. They are forced to have sex with all kinds of alcoholics, and don't even ask how dirty those indian bastards are.
SEEING ALL THESE, I FEEL LIKE STAYING VIRGIN FOR ALL MY LIFE. THESE NAIVE GALS ARE FACING ALL THESE BEACUSE OF THE LUST WE MALE HAVE IN US. WHY ARE THE BOYS NOT SOLD LIKE THEM. I WOULD TAKE THE BLAME IN MYSELF. I WISH I COULD MARRY ONE OF THOSE GALS AND HELP THEM RESSURECT THEIR LIFE.

NaakPore , thanks for bringing this up. Its a very very important and sensitive topic for me since a long time ago. Look at the picture...Damn, those girls look mad young. Why should anyone deserve this? especially a child. Can't believe the innocence destroyed by their feigning loved ones who go on to sell them to a life of hell.

The issue of trafficking Nepali girls has been around for years now and correct me but I haven't heard of any initiatives being taken by the govt (past or present) to eradicate this sick, sick mentality of the people who sell such innocent victims (often their own daughters or wives). I seriously think that the restrictions on the borders should be much stricter (this open border shit with India has caused more emotional/mental, physical and cultural costs than all the financial benefits combined)...And to deter other people from forcefully selling their kids, anyone trafficking girls should be shot point blank...Are you listening Maosits and other rebels who go about killing anyone against their so called path of righteousness and justice? These are the very poor that you had pledged to uplift. Its time to make amends and start doing the right thing as we all know our whack azz political leader will never undertake such measures. Once again, shot point blank with no friggin mercy at all!! I hope someday we see this dark saga end and Nepali village girls everywhere could live a life of hope.

ok guys... who would u rather date with?? one of the gurlz from the 1st pic or one of those models??? gee, i guess the ladies featured in the 2 sections belong to totally different domain, so dont compare and forward a lame argument.

if u guys feel REALLY bad for those girls, DO SOMETHING for them........and dont post something to showoff...
btw, maitinepal sucks. went there to volunteer for a month, and gee i realize how "marketing" and "operations" differ...how they boast about doing social good to those "victimized" women and how they treat them...........

GOD........... have mercy

rituman, what do you mean showoff, goddamn prick?? Expressing your feelings or talking about an issue raises awareness and thats whats happening here...What would sajha be like if no one gave their 2 cents on another person's post? Grow up and appreciate instead of trying to bring down everyone wanting to make a small difference. Back in coolege during one of our economics society meeting in 2001, I talked about the same issue and educated my classmates totally unaware of the issue. A few even contributed to maitinepal.
Matitnepal is not the best out there but atleast they've brought about some difference. I applaud their initiative even though they have little or no political help and that is what is necessary for comatting this evil prevalent in our cillages...I guess only the tears of the ones saved by maitinepal will prove all that. Since you bring down all who want to raise awareness or help (even in the smallest way) these victims, tell me what have you done for them so far? Have you even talked to anyone unfamiliar about this issue and raised even a lil awareness? No? I thought so. Just shut that trap of yours in the future and let the discussions continue, faggot!!

Good words, Samsara. I completely agree with what you have to say about raising awareness. If there is one area that Nepalese have prospered in past few decades, raising voices and arms against political freedom would certainly be at the top of the list. It is about time that we use prosperity to fight for the freedom of these women.

There is always two sides of the coin. There are some who want to help them out, and then we cannot forget that there are some who would pay to go and screw them. Sad as it may seem, it's all economics of demand and supply.

What kind of people are this second type? The ones who have a need to pay prostitutes to have sex. The kind that create a demand. The kind that sells their family, or betrays the trust of the girls and sells them.

When you think about it, you sometimes wonder where this world is going.

Yes katziman, awareness is key. This is not only a Nepali issue but also concerns the Indians as well. They too need to know of the atrocity that is going on in their own yard. Our politicians somehow need to make this agenda among the top priorities and go to the Lok/Rajya Sabha to enlighten these dhotis whcih MAY make them put up some measure on their side as well. This is not going to happen overnight but it can always start within the lowest levels (eg: sajha) and then slowly in time once massive awareness kicks in, the issue sould come to the forefront (it should've by now but somehow, somewhere the movement has faltered).

As bodmas said earlier that more than 30 girls are sold daily...That makes it 10,950 a year and for the past 15 years since maitinepal was formed, it equals 164,250 gilrs!! imagine 164,250 and that too at the low end of the spectrum as girls were being sold even before maitinepal was formed!! Can't imagine the hell ALL these girls had to go through and moreover, since such a massive scale of people are being affected directly by this trade, why isn't the UN or any other developmental agency involved? Not enough awareness I guess!

It is one of the oldest profession in the history of mankind. I always advocated legalizing it. That way at least it will be regulated and (cross my finger) free of abuse(hopefully not forced into it).
