Have you guys ever thought what will happen if the Maoists (Still terrorists in the international community) enter the government and start running the country?
Its funny, Nepal will be run by Terrorists.. People who tookd more than 1400 innocent nepali lives will not represent Nepal!!!
Will you vote for the Maoists?

nepal army are the real terrorist, out of 14000lives that you figure out, more than 50% lives is due to nepal army directly or indirectly, other few thousands are by other group of terrorist (the political parties of nepal), and the rest by maoists

i am not maoist and i will not vote for them
but go and see the data by human rights commission

its not good to blame them every time
other people are more responsible for the present situation of nepal

be sure they will not run the country but may be a part of the govt (its not funny). but there is a big group of people in nepal who support them.
if they were not to ceasefire presently, nepal would have seen more casulties and deaths,

no offence, just my 2 cents

Why would the govt kill innocent if it wasn't for the Maoists to initiate the so called "civil war". Why did the govt kill the maoists? Thats coz they looted banks, extorted money and land from innocent villagers, destroyed the infrastructure of the country, hindered development projects, ristricted freedom of movement by blockades.. and these are just a few examples of maoist atrocities.
I blame the Maoists.
However, i agree that the government (more so- the money hungry political leaders) gave birth to the Maoists. So ultimately, it is the political leaders lke girija and sujata koirala who instigated the maoist movement.
Tell me if u think otherwise.

Since 9/11 "Terrorist" is a term made famous by the Americans whenever any political force anywhere arond the globe that dont play by infavour of the American political and economic interests.

As I understand, now "Terrorist" is simply a term used to denote some organization or individual(s) that squarely resist American political and economic interests.

Terrorists mean a group of people who uses violence, terror, and intimidation to achieve results.
Fits the definition of Maoists, doesn't it?

If such criterias are to be applied uniformly across the board, well then every armed forces of all the countries and all enforcement agencies will fit the defination, so does the street gangs, drug & contraband smuggling rings as well as single individuals.

For example, an armed robber uses violence, terror and intimidation to achieve results. Inturn law enforcement agencies use or most likely use violence, terror and intimidation (against the armed robber) to achieve results.

Similarly armed forces of a nation uses violence, terror and intimidation to bring an opposition armed forces to submission (to achiece results).

There is no universally excepted defination.

I would like to tell everyone one thing. If you have never been in that situation, please don't talk about what you don't know. I am a Nepali American and here in the US, Law Enforcement Agencies do not use violence, terror and intimidation to do anything. They are trained that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty. This may not be true in Nepal since the Police of Nepal are neither respected or trained properly. Here in the US, to be a Law Enforcement Officer, you have to go through extensive background investigation and training before the public places its trust in you. Your character and morality are always examined. However, this doesn't mean all are perfect. After all, we are all human beings with faults. Some do violate the good principles and are usually caught by the internal division of the Law Enforcement Agency they work for.

As for the military, our training is one of the best in the world. Some have even taken teachings from the Gurkha in Nepal as their guide. Our military as a whole are honarable men and women who serve their country voluntarily. They are taught to respect human rights and are discplined when necessary. It is even illegal in the military to commit adultery or disrespect their superior officer verbally. That is the standard of the US military. American policy is the policy of the President of the United States and not its people.

Khaobaadi, please educate yourself before you speak.

Feel shame on urself first

why now a days everybody think he is entititled to raise arms, no brain.
Everybody knows government itself is poor and it can't even offer anything for natural destruction victim and to get them to hospital. Those 13 years of conflict was very destructive for a small country like ours. WE have more than 50 ethnic kind people who thinks they are differnt from each other and they don't bleed blood when their hands get cut off. My dear brothers what good we have done to our government, most of us nthing. Businessmen they don't pay back bank lonas, they don't pay tax, and they they those who have no self respect for themselves come out to the street and do "bandhs" programme. Shame on them. Leaders, they say one thing, do another. We know they are not doing what we want and still people are not saying anything.

When king did Asar 19 he took all the money he could from government and then give back so called power to so called 8 parties. Maoist they violated human rights and they are gonna be the next governing body! shame on nepali people. Shame on you those who think he is unlcuky that he is borned in nepal. I have found some people here in sajha who are shame on being nepali.

When u see US now you see skyscrappers and malls and highways and restaurant and everything what u want.

U have got ur own car here and u drive in super highway and u think nepal also should have super highway. Who the hell ?

Did god make US like these that every person on this planet earth want to come here ?

NO NO god didn't did it, people they did it. They learn how to live in peace and harmony and respect each other and where equality prevails. They practice the system. That is why they are succesful, they fought the wars too, but they did it for the cause and here they are today sole power of this face of universe we know today.

When somebody ask u here in US where u from ? u say Nepal

oh what ?
nepal
naples
no its neeepaal
nep'al
yeah yeah
and where is it ? in india
no man we are not indians u know where Mt. everest yeah i am from there
ohhhhhh
yeah bitchhhh

shame on us that we can't make our nepal known to everyone. Shame on us shame on us we nepali brothers are killing each other.

have anyone read "neighbourhood" chhimeki by guru prasad mainali. he is such a great writer, he knew the real meaning of being good neighbour.

We nepali people most of us have lost our dignity to create contructive development.

Every person in a state is free for his/her own economic activities

Yeah...it is very clear that one might get fairly reasonable treatment AFTER an arrest and we all know that.

I'm not talking about what happens AFTER someone is arrested by a law enforcement agency. I'm talking if violence, terror or intimidation is ever used or not IN THE PROCESS of an arrest of any individual who is NOT voluntairily submitting to an arrest regardless of the fact that someone is treated fairly after the arrest.

Violence, terror and intimidation is used to any suspect who is resisting arrest. I'm NOT asking to justify the use of violence, terror and intimidation. I'm simply acknowleding the fact that violence, terror and intimidation is used no matter if it a legit or non-legit purposes.

Same applies to the armed forces as well. Violence, terror and intimidation is applied to an opponent which refuses to yield.

thopa

If the world were so simplistic as you have pictured in your post, the world would get over its problems with simple solutions.

Hello, THOPA
Without pollution, there is no solution. read the nepalese history. Who are terrorist and who are rebel .you will have hard time to figure out. Who polluted country for what solution and at times who considered terrorist and who considered rebels. .... its not like you imagined...........

Thing changes dynamically in the world, its not everything for constant. The saha vansha in nepal came did their job, rana came did their job. During the times, we had little changes not like western country. Now the need of time is socialism ,and maoist revolution is for that. (Rakta kranti ko jwalamukhi) has rested now for the new nepal, and in this period, opportunistic rises and put bad impression to the system, still we gotta keep hope of something good

Former dictator of Chile, General Augusto Pinochet's police and miltary were doing axactly the same stuffs that you have mentioned above except the fact that Pinochet did not loot banks (because he didnt have to. When the nation was under his seize so were the banks and the treasury). No one knows exactly how many people were killed or raped or kidnapped during the rein of the terror, intimidiation and violence carried out by his police and his military.

Here is an exert from Wikipedia, "..... Pinochet implemented a series of security operations, with support from the United States and other South American military governments, in which (according to the Rettig Report) around 3,000 suspected or known dissidents and leftists were killed, and (according to the Valech Report) around 30,000 more were tortured......."

The cases becomes even worse in the case of Central Ameican nation of Guatemala. The govt police and miltary of Guatemale bombed entire villages of indigenous Maya people. In one of those cases, 133 indigenous Maya people from the same village were first killed and burried in the same mass grave.

It would have been better off if maobadi would have swept the nation's capital and took control of the whole country just like cuban revolution. When you set out for a revolution you take care of the business first ..you don't compromise....that's the half a** job, now what we will see is more factions and tiny problems which will take generations to solve it. There is no firm authority in Nepal, now everybody can pretty much do whatever they feel like without anybody looking over your shoulders. There could be another coup in the future either by Army or a foreign elements.

I DID NOT come here to justify the actions of any warring parties. I'm here ONLY TO ACKNOWLEDGE the fact that it is enough to fit or define any side or a party as 'terrorist'

* when such means were used no matter they belong to government or an opposition
* and no matter what the justifications might be for using such means.
