A hardcore Nepali gal, of course who has done her schooling in India ,and who has lots of Indian connections.... Is it ok to get married with an Indian guy?Yeah, of course she has the same problem.. she shares love-hate relationship with Indians....and always wanted her future mate to speak Nepali in a proper way..and this guy does not speak a word of Nepali.
The only plus point is tat he is a thorough gentleman,well-educated and the family background is similar.....and above all this gentleman blindly loves the girl......and it is an arrange marriage...
So do you think the gal should say YES to this proposal?Don't you think she will feel sick with the Indian Environment though they are not going to live in India....
And the gal is in the mid of her studies....but they just want to get married or engaged..do u think it will effect her studies?

Kohinoor, one of the most important factors is "The only plus point is tat he is a thorough gentleman,well-educated and the family background is similar.....and above all this gentleman blindly loves the girl......and it is an arrange marriage..." So the only missing part is "does the girl love the guy?" If yes, the girl should said YES.

just woke and basically basically dun mind wat im gonna type next hehe..i too dunno..but i feel its gonna be more hazy(forecast didnt say rainy and wet too did it?:o| hehe) than i normally am capable of ;oP ehe

if the question was just "Is it OK to marry with an Indian"(be it a guy or a gal) ..i guess i say YES!its ok!why is not ok hoina?:o| hehe...basically do we have a choice of being born an indian or a nepali or watsoever?

so whats the problem of being Indian?or Nepali?or wat not?hehe and of cos we do stereotype and generalise ppl..but aint it more for humour?to vent our frustrations on some arseholes who pisses us off with their attitudes and wat not?hehe and of cos we do assume others are doin the same stereotyping on us(since we are arseholes ourselves...if u dun think ur an arsehole..go to the mirror turn around, drop ur pants or watever ur wearing ..u might have to bend a bit since u know the arsehole is "hidden"?hehe..and look in the mirror u see an arsehole!its urs!as they say if u have one!ur one?hah ;oP hehe and not like i do that and check everyday..but u kow wat i mean?i had an 'eureka' moment once...im sure u all had that "eureka im am arsehole!' moment too?if not dun wait!i shared the secret didnt i?duh!;oP )

oops where was i?..

ok so he is an indian and lets just say that stereotypes do fall true for a lots of ppl(us)?since society and the environment we grow up in def moulds us in a lot of ways..plus each of us are an arsehole?"proved" it already didnt i?;oP but it seems we love to watch others arse(holeness) than our own?;oP hehe...but then again u mentioned "he is a thorough gentleman,well-educated and the family background is similar.....and above all this gentleman blindly loves the girl"..seems not too bad a lad?but oh well we always want more dun we?;oP hehe

and kohinoor u did say ur fren(im assuming shes ur fren cos im sure u wont ask for opinions for an "enemy"?but then again who knows?;oP hehe) "ALWAYS wanted her future mate to speak nepali"?

we do like to be logical dun we?..put in all the inputs..look at all pros and cons..and of cos if there are more pros then it seems the right thing to do..the right choice to make?if only everything was like maths hoina?

and lookn at the 'inputs' u passed about the situation hehe..for me..if i was her i def wouldnt(and most prob i regret later for lettn go of such a good catch?hah ;oP *deleted some 'experience' talk* ;oP)but thats me..and of cos im not in ur fren's situation so its easy to type? ;oP..we never will know until we take the plunge hoina?but bihe ta not just about one person hoina?he be affected by it too?(lets not even go on about family and relatives ;oP hehe)i feel more scared for him(no im not being sexist here!;oP hehe)than ur fren right now esp from wat u shared here hehe...will she be willin to try change her mindset a bit and of cos will she ever forget her wish of "always wanting a nepali mate"?cos if she wont get over that?who suffer?both?hehe

but yeah in the end..we make our own choices and have to live with them hoina?hopefully watever she chooses..it be good for her :oD...

marriage apart...engagement sure does sound fine tho ;oP hehe..i mean marriage ta real serious committment ho..engagement chai of cos its serious committment too..but if u break an engagement it wont be as bad a divorce?sounds logical?hehe..plus think about the benefits of an engagement..if he is like u say..a gentleman blindly in love with her..an engagement might give him the chance and she notice him a bit more and see him for who he is..nepali or not ;o) hehe and im sure he learn some nepali when he is more often near her ;o) i mean i can just imagine meself givin out some lame absurd hindi dialogues if me wife was an indian(yeah im dreamin too much!:o| a wife re?as tho thats possible?:o| ;oP hehe)..u know..err smthing like..let me make tink of smthin hehe.."areyho mere pyari bibi..mai toh majak kaar raha tha!tum hara wo khubsoraat muskaan mujhko dhekhado na..wo muskaan tht makes my heart skip whenever i see it" hah!at least wrote some hindi words!err they are hindi arent they?:o| hehe

anyways gotta make a decision again..(jaha pani decisions garnu parcha :oS hehe)..to click 'submit' or not hah!am half awake!dun really wanna make others sleep here :o| hehe..darn aint i nice?hah ;oP hehe

good luck!and good day!:oD

YOU CAN'T STOP THE RAIN. YOU CAN'T STOP THE SHINING SUN-by unknown.

Hardcore gal: Just read the prov above. Well, i would say, Indians are first to none in fake and casual love. Though he loves ya by heart but family gonna be the major issue of ya's relationship. Most Indian Families are conservative as they look for their own caste, standard and of course money-minded. out of border, NO WAY. Well ya' might have heard murder stories about sasu and bibi's. Actually, I would say love's got an age, and limit. He might love since ya's aint' married but after it, He might discard ya. Other thing, he might have got another grlfren back home. yOU never know. I had a indian fren who married American, then seperated not divorced, made indian grlfren almost about to marry, bcame a U.S army then dump indian grlfren and went with the previous american. Well my boss where i used to work before, used to flirt and sleepwith americans though he was 45, got 4 kids and had a lovely wife. Her wife, knowing all this sh$t, can't do nothing except regret and curse her own future.

Just hope was a useful info.

THINK TWICE, RATIONALIZE THRICE AND DECIDE ONCE.
NO INDIANS(DHOTIS)

Its an arrange marriage ,family background is similar,
she likes this guy,the guy blindly loves the girl
so wots the problem?
talking about indian environment, she has to be lil flexible.
i have seen hundreds of indi-nepali couple here and they are living happily.
moreover as u said ,they are not going to live in India.... so thats no prob at all.
But i think she should complete her studies first.

do not trust indian, he is gonna ask u for dowry after few days of marriage and he is gonna beat u everyday, he is never gonna speak nepali, he will have no respect for you cause he is indian.

He doesn't love you. Remember this, never marry a indian guy. There are thousands of nepali guys for you, who speaks your mind, who has respect for gals, and who doesn't want dowry.

NO INIDIAN

OFCOURSE kohinoor! race, culture, background does NOT really matter when it comes to love/marriage, girl! It's about the two, not about all, well some parts! but still, yes it will be a good decision to get married to him if that is what all of you want!
ciao :)

its always good idea to choose a girl/guy from similar culture, religion and background. it not only makes your parents happy but also make you easier to cope with new home if you are a girl. no matter what, when we fall in love, we do not come across so many details that we will come across after marirge which we just can not ignore. we might not like certain things about them or their culture but we got to deal with that. even in this 21st century and the country of freedom like usa., why white women and men still prefers girl/guy from america rather than other country, answer is simple, they can communicate well in their language, they brought up in similar environment and they know waht to expect from their partner. similarly, a nepali guy will know what to expect from a nepali girl and vice versa. dating, loving from diffrent culture is not a big deal, in that case you will try to know more about guy/girl. in our case marriage is really a big thing and we do not wan tto quit it after few months or years. i am a guy and there are so many hot girls and good looking and nice girls around here , but i still prefer nepali girl becasue that makes my parents happy and in long run that makes me happy too. suppose if i like to go to temple, she wont ask me to go to church, just an example. i mean its not a big deal we can go to temple or church both for there will be so many things we have dissimilarities. when i talk with white guys/girls i can sense that i can nto marry a white girl. anyways, if you all including you and your parents have no problem, i dont see why i or sajhaites will have problem with that. good luck.

I have a cousin who got married to an Indian guy... and they are really happy. The only problem that they have is... when there is a family get together (girl's side), everyone talks in Nepali and the guy doesnt understand a thing and becomes totally confused and bored. But I think thats a small thing and if both people are convinced about the relationship then it could work.

I mostly agree with number.

I really dont know if marrying a Nepali girl/guy will make our parents happy or not but I do know that cultural compatibility between a guy and a girl in a relationship is very important.

Yeah..of course we can fall in love with anyone of any race or culture..but hey...different cultures do not see same things in similar ways..and it is the reason why frictions arise. And many of these frictions for a long period of time wil ultimately lead to unhappy marriage unless both of you are willing to reconcile the differences.

If both of you are willing to make big adjustments and if you both have great flexibility (which of course comes at a price) then go for interracial-intercultural marriage.

If you DO NOT want to pay the price of big adjustments in the first place...go for more compatiable partner.

You say that this is an arranged marriage. That sounds strange. I have not heard of any nepali family arranging a marriage with an Indian. The only exception is Pyar Jung's daughter, but that's a special case. Also, I don't understand how the family backgrounds can be similar. I mean an indian household is very different from a Nepali one. Can you provide some clarification here, and I might be able to provide more insighful comments.

Other than that, it all boils down to personal preferences. If the guy loves this girl that much, he should be willing to learn a bit of nepali. It shouldnt be too hard for someone who already speaks hindi. But i personally think that "everything else being the same," cross-cultural marriages require a lot of effort, so it's not gonna be smooth sailing.
