We sent response to RFE notice last week and completed biometrics this friday.

I have seen a case in trackitt.com whose I-130 was approved and also updated to testing and interview. Looks like biometics scheduled on Sept 6 was completed on 08/21 (walk in Finger Printing).

Fingers crossed. Just praying to get I-130 approved.

thanks hariyo_patta for the note.

@keyser soze:

i think there is some message in September 2013 visa bulletin. it says this:

This category was made “Current” in an effort to generate new demand for the upcoming fiscal year. Information received during discussions with the National Visa Center and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services indicates that this action is already having the intended result.  Therefore, it is likely that a cut-off will be imposed for October.  This cut-off is unlikely to have any negative impact on those who have already initiated action on their case prior to the announcement of the October cut-off dates.

i interprete the line in italics above [I formatted it for empahsis] as F2A not remaining current from October 2013. but the line in bold [i formatted it in bold] implies that those who applied during this "current" window will have their application processed without having to revert back to the effects of retrogression. i could be over ambitious; please correct me if i am wrong :)

best wishes.

and folks, please keep the updates coming!

Kailoketa, how do you think this might impact those getting married later in the year/early next year?

@ks:
the current visa bulletin is not an indicaiton of things to come in the future. but i gather that things are moving quite fast these days even if F2A is not current and that is quite a departure from the past.

Ya, I got that. I remember back in 2011 when the processing time had changed to "current" as well. It only lasted a couple months. So assuming that the processing time reverted back to as it was a few months ago (i.e. 3 years plus), how would a permanent resident's spouse's file get handled, if say, he got naturalized 1 year after getting married?

 I have sent my documents to Chicago on sept. 3rd but my check has not been cashed yet. How long does it take to get receipt ?. It seems they are loaded with F2A applications. I have applied for I-130 in july 2012 and approved in August 2013. It took me a while to collect all the documents especially the birth certificate.

@BityoJiba, recently I got RFE on my birth certificate. No, Idea how to get my birth certificate, I don't have it back at home either. I am not from Kathmandu and it seems impossible to get it from my birth place's VDC (It’s a remote VDC in Gulmi, I never been there once we moved to Butwal 20 years ago so did my parents). I got both Citizenship n passports from Butwal.  How did you get your birth certificate?

Any suggestions on this situation will be appreciated.

 @Evil, I asked someone at my VDC to make my Birth Certificate but he said VDC secretary (sachib) hardly shows up in village. So, my sister went to Okhaldhunga district (headquarter) from ktm, met secretary and finally emailed me the scanned copy.  She said, she has to go through various contacts to find M.F***** Sachib.  Birth registration certificate looks simple, they have their standard format Nepali on the top and English on the bottom. They just fill up the required information and signs in it.  Required information are father’s name , his citizenship no. and issued date, mother’s name, her citizenship no. and issued date, grand father’s name, address where you born, date of birth, and sachib’s signature and date.  I had to make three times due to spelling and D.O.B mistakes. I don’t know whether USCIS will accept it or not still waiting for reply.

@ deported
Did you mean I-485?
Mine was also in acceptance phase. However I got an RFE and submitted the reponse last week. Now it says RFE RESPONSE REVIEW. Biometrics was done last friday.
At least, october visa bulletin is encouraging for us. Hope for the best.
