Hello friends,

I am thinking of going to Nepal for H1-B stamping, but I am little worried because my field of study is different than my H1-B category. I did undergraduate in Business management but my H1-B category is under "Programmer Analyst". I got my H1-B from Indian consultancy. If any of you have similar situation or experience please advice me.

Thanks,

Hey Clupen.. its entirely up to ur luck.. I went through with the same thing 3 years back and I even had related academic background. My H1 petition was approved by USCIS and still the US consulate in Nepal revoked my petition... I believe it was because my Indian consultation was unable to provide all necessary information requested by the consulate office. But I dont regret it much coz I came to US the next year on Student visa..

In the current context, going to Nepal for stamping is not a good idea, especially if you had your H1B from Dhoti Consultancy. But its all your decision. Best of Luck.

Is it mandatory to go back to Nepal for H1B stamping if the visa in my passport is expired? I'd really appreciate for the answer. Thanks

I think if you are working in your H1 b it wont be a problem because you can show your paystubb. Paystubb is the main proof that you have been working in your h1b

I am also in the same situation and thinking what should I do. As far as I heard we cannot get stamping any more in Mexico and Canada. I am working since 3 month and I am with Nepali consultant and I am in H1 from this October. I am thinking of going when my project is over but I heard some of the people who went when they were working also got delayed not rejected I think but delayed for 6 month or something thats really pain in ass.

Is ther any one who recently went back and got stamped?? Could you guys share your stories who got rejected, aprroved or pending whatever. This will help everyone I guess.

thanks

1. We must go to nepal for H1 B stamping and we can't go to maxico or canada as per the new rule (also mention by some folks already)

2. One of my friend did MBA, went to indian consultancy, did .NET trainning, went to project and worked here for 1.5 years. 3 months ago he went to nepal for marriage. His visa got denied.

3. Now its your turn to think twice before you go to Nepal.

I think he went to Nepal on Nov, and still there.
I've heard of my friend's friends(3 of them), stuck back in Nepal with their case pending. All of them went there on November.
G'luck..

target2Green,

I don't think there is any law like that about going back to your country to get H1B stamping. I went to Canada on June, 2008 and got the visa. Also, one of my friend went to Mexico on Nov, 2008 and got his visa. Go to below website and see for yourself. However they do advise you to apply from your own country.

Hey motherland,

I am just relaying my friends word here. I have no idea wheather it is law or not or you could go to canada/maxico or not. I am just trying to aware someone before making any decision.

Can you verify that we can go to Canada/Maxico for stamping for sure. Before my posting others also have referred that we can't go to Canada/Mexico for stamping. Can you please provide authentic and reliable source that we don't need to go to Nepal for H1 B stamping as of 02/02/2009.

PS: Don't assume my suggestion as an authentic. I might be wrong. I am just sharing what I know.
