Korean traditional Sauna. After burning the wood into cola in these furnaces they take out the coal and the furnace is in the process of cooling.During this period thy use this place as a sauna. temperature ranges from 50 degrees to 90 degree C. They say this type of sauna is very healthy.

Nice pictures !!! I almost forget names of korean foods, I enjoyed them a lot when I was there. I can remember very few now - bipinphap (or pap??), kimphap, thakgogi, soogogi, thakkalvi, melchi etc. I forget the name of a soup with some tofu, green beans and small shelled sea food. I could never like the smell of KIM and octopus.

Isn't that heating system called ONDOL? I also went to see that village museum. Only blur memories I have now.

eheeh Nepal ki Chhori,

yes they have sooo many varieties of food it is difficult to remember after a while, Bulgogi and Bibimpap are the healthiest one. I liked almost all Korean dishes. The museum is good they have preserved korea of 1960s and thye are proud of that. I went twice to that museum. I is surprising to know that in 1965-70s, situation  and lifestyle in Korea resembles very closely to the villages of nepal but in 35 yrs thye changed it completely. This shows how dedication of leadership towards its ppl is important. if the Leaders are not dedicated whatever the political system is, it wont work.
Ppl enjoying after sauna.
