anish 1st indian idol is not even a remote reflection of "singing talent" in hindi, in india or around the world...watch saregamapa..only amit paul will be able to even compete there from this idol batch..so lets not confuse idol with any sort of national or international talent search in India...it is just one show by one channel in India for ENTERTAINMENT purpose. Now dont confuse prashant being in top 3 with yr votes. he aint there because bunch of nepalese are voting for him..he is also getting Indian votes...and many people have many different reasons for it....my point was and I repeat is nepalese voting for him has no other reason but personal racial prejudice/bias that he LOOKS like them and that is even seconded by yr arguement that amit paul is half nepalese but he doent look like a TAMANG hence he is not getting yr votes at large. It's just that the people are voting for Prashant Tamang because they find him very much deserving to win the title. He has an extraordinarily melodious voice which I am sure you will agree with too. He mightnot have performed par excellence in all the galas but he has proved on and off that he can sing well and when he sings well he outdoes all the other so called better contestants in the show. But, even when he isnot singing well, he still isnot giving rubbish performances either. So based on this, his fans in his hometown and presumably his army officers are hellbent on voting for him and they are doing so sincerely. Now, when somebody does vote for him so sincerely and continuously, it goes to show how popular he is amongst these people and how much they feel he deserves the title. People have been voting for him sincerely and passionately for the past 4-5 months and it is not a joke!!!

About the Nepalese people in India voting for him, I think it is just natural. Every human being is biased in someway or the other deep within and it is nothing to be surprised about if Nepalese people are voting for him. I haven't voted for him because I can't from the US. But, I have been supporting him and also praying to god for his success. Afterall, wouldn't you do the same if you were in my shoes???

But at the same time, I wouldn't deny that I have enjoyed competitive performances from other contestants as well. For example, Ankita I really liked her a lot and Amit Paul, I like his voice a lot and he sounds like an experienced singer to me. But, if I were to compare Amit Paul and Prashant and to decide who should win, I'd say both deserve to win- because both are very melodious singers and both can go places if given the opportunity. However, I see Amit Paul establising himself with a musical career even if he doesnt win the coveted title. Whereas, Prashant might be forced to go back to Police job in Kolkata and much cannot be said about people giving him opportunity to sing. This can be attributed to racial factors, his background and to the fact that I don't think he will quit his job and start hunting for opportunities to sing. He is indebted towards his police officers who have supported him all throughout and primarily beause of this I dont think he will just quit his job and lookout for other avenues in life( this is just my thinking). Therefore, it is very very important and crucial for Prashant to win the title as this means he will be exposing himself to the media as a singer and he will also be recording his album with Sony. This will be an important opprtunity in his career which he must get. Inorder to get this opportunity, he must win the title and for this, his fans in NE India, presumably his police officers and his fans throughout are voting so much.

May the best singer win- True, but Prashant must win the title to get the opportunity to sing!.
