tic tok!, tic-tok!!

hi, this is your friend Loote, again! hehe. could not help sharing this article. as much as i appreciate freedom of expression, it amazes me when educated people, that too living in US, fail to comprehend maoists revolution-armed revolution and nepal's ground realities.

why would maoists disarm before CA or before they see that a stable enviroment has been set up for a startup?

--to let the royalists take over again? it should be understood that although monarchy is frozen, its NOT dead yet. do you really want them to take over you yet again?
if yes, i have nothing to say.
if no, accept what maoists are saying.

Do you want maoists to retaliate and bring october revolution and hence more chaos in the country?
if yes, i have nothing to say.
if no, listen to them.

this dude's article cracked me up. he is juxtaposing maoists with hezbollah. does he have a slightest clue of the ground reality of nepal? does he know what message an irresponsible statement as such can circulate around the world at this important juncture of peace making process?

pisses me off, yes big time!!! when educated people lacks patience and fail to comprehend our realities.

I used to think loote as very intelligent. but more and more i see his thread it is becoming more and more annoying and he seems brainless.

why would maoists disarm before CA or before they see that a stable enviroment has been set up for a startup?

--to let the royalists take over again? it should be understood that although monarchy is frozen, its NOT dead yet. do you really want them to take over you yet again?

Wow now you look government with suspicion . one thing i will tell you with suspecion there will be no peace talk. Tali ek haaat le bajdaina.

Government has trusted all the moaoist and left them from jail. why didnt you suspected when the government let all the maoist form the jail out who were there for a grave crime. Did you suspected that time that those maoist who were left to enhance peace process can go back to jungle .Why cant maoist trust govenment now when govenment trusted them and left all the cadres out of jail

How faithful is your moaist has been in peace process. Just a week earlier maoist took 3 lakhs in the name of voluntary chanda from my uncles company even though my uncles company is already in loss. They came and put the gun in the desk and ask for the money. call that for the voluntary financial help. They kept on bugging and threatened.. Many banks are now on the verge of closing because of maoist. Many business has stopped because of their extortion. I think prachada does the favor to loote by allowing him to s*** his thats why he is barking in prachandas tone.

There isn't a whole lot that can come out of demonizing the Maoists further but someone's got to ask these guys the tough questions; if only to keep up the pressure on them to disarm.

I am not an anti-communist or anti-Maoist, but the idea of CA elections being held with bands of armed insurgents roaming about polling booths unchecked is definitley not a good idea and is not in the long-term interests of the country, in my humble opinion.

But you don't need a Maoist army, that resorts to violence against unarmed civilains as we speak today and could potentialy intimidate voters at the polling booth in the future, to get rid of the Monarchy. The Maoist army is only of little value, in my opinion, as a safeguard against Royal resurgence. The biggest safeguard is having the Maosist in government with the SPA and that is unlikely to happen till some form of disarmament or "arms management" can be done. The preeminent threat to Nepal's new democracy is from a SPA-Maoist divorce and less from a takeover by a demoralized Army and Monarchy.

Even Prachanda has accepted that disarmament is the way to go.

My 2 cents.

wow sajha user. i didnot here people's cry when one of my own cousine was brutally murdered by maoist. when one of my friends father was killed because he condemed their act in public.

do you want maoist to ask for the vote in the gun point. Do you think change can occur only by gun. pahtetic view sajha user. change can occur without gun. if they are so serious why cant they disarm gun.

Bidhan chalise :P (i think that's your nick haina? hehe....not that it really matters),
well, i have read about what happened to your uncle three times already in sajha including this. my honest sympathy to him and to those who are still suffering from attacks brought about by the maoists. i take that as an inefficiency on their part to control their action (that by PLA) at this important juncture.

but wait! i want to give this a second thought. don't take me as a pro communist. you want peace in nepal and so do i (so does everyone(?) for that matter). BUT, when views don't resonate, action won't as well. it should be understood that monarchy is unconscious but not dead. Nepali congress and girija still believe that they and their hypocritical agenda cannot exist and prosper in the long run in nepal, if nepal is to head for a republic. time and again, he has reiterated that they can still settle for ceremonial monarchy--the best solution, which in my view is against the liking of majority nepalese at the moment. and that in my view is a lack of self-confidence on girija and congress' part. this is first thing,

secondly, NA have lost their 'R' but they still comprise same people who were/are loyal to the king, who will fight to death for him, if need be. amidst this scenario, don't expect maoists to completely disarm before NA is restructured. it's like running for a 20 miles marathon solely with a lead and letting other followers to take over at the finish line.

So, don't expect them to disarm fully. they won't do it unless
1) referendum ousts the king and hence monarchy.
2) a feasible environment (after NA is restructured) for an unbiased and violence-free CA is created.

Captain,
I appreciate your views, as always. Your skepticism is understandable. And I will be with you, if they proceed to CA with arms on. :)

loote how could you be so sure people are against king without any referrendum. do you believe in democracy.

and wah. how blind you can be not seeing the fault of maoist. The fact that govenment cannot control maoist extorting the money then it becomes govenment fault not maoist.

You dont trust the elected parties by people and believes in the people who are driven by the power of gun.

bidhan, you and most other people have not been able to think beyond you and your family/friends circle. i suppose that's the natural tendency of human beings. but when you know what is right and what is wrong, why would you want to support the wrong? or is it that you don't know what is right? or is it because you don't care?

I believe, a confusion has been created that Maoist dont want to disarm before CA election. Well if you have watched the news and interviews, this is another propaganda of the Royalists and other SPAs.

Prachanda has clearly said that the arms will be dealt with the other issues altogather. Arms wont be compromised separately. He has said that dealing the arms separately would be disaster for them. Obviously it can be understood, if maoists disarm, only army will have arms. Chance of Army coup? on top of that who is the COAS? Katuwal, Royal Ass sniffer. Why should maoist disarm before other issues are solved?

Girija and KP Oli want to play the traditional political game of delaying the talks and create confusion, chaos and achieve their goal. Well that is not going to happen. One call of maoists for Arms import took the whole country to a stand still. The SPA should know that they have been there because of the Janatas, and all the demands of Jaatas for Janaandolan II have been maintained by the Maoists. The SPA has been out of sync with the demands of Janaandolan II. If SPA thinks it can divert from those demands for their selfish intentions then they are mistaken. Nepali Kangress is on its way to History, so is Amaale and others.

well, khukuri bhanda karda lagne bhanlan hai maanceh le tara..
upto this point i hate maoists,
there should be no amnesty for the genocide they brought up and they caused our country to go 20 yrs back in development, and i donot know other irrenewable damage they have caused to the victims of thier so called PLA.
i still remember the day when Badal was in stage at Naryanghat and one of the women went straight into the stage to attack him for some reason.
so it may happen again to prachanda and baburam.
may be they have formulated big plans to develop our small country ,but till now i donot see any invigorating economic and political agendas,
so what was the fight for , to keep the population of our country down, to keep the development crippled and the people confused or whatelse?
and nowadays u can see the maoists protesting on the street , doesnot it seems ridiculous to you ,

nowadys what you see is all parties are trying to corner the King, is there any point in that, i donot think its correct to that point, because one day he would reach a point where he would have to fight for his existence and he is not that weak these f#@kers think.

all what i want to see is prosperous and peaceful nepal, so that one day we could hear from our leaders , well all those nepalis staying in US, lets come back to nepal, we are not second to them , we can give you whatever you are getting there or more, and lets work for our country,
well some of you may say stop dreaming.........ok i ll do ,

i donot care who is leading the country , but at least you should say with no reservations that this is good , and right now i donot see any possibility of such leaders,
spa is still busy doing the same f#@king things they used to do when they were in government, its same whether congress or coummnists, or whatever label the want to wear to be in power.

so there is a soft corner for my country in my heart, but my dreams shatter when i see all these things in news and analyse whatever is going on.

so in this time you go for the supernatural power you believe that exists and pray for the better future , with kids playing with the proper toys , not with guns in their hands.

"it's great that bhauns are fighting against bahuns..."

LOL! This is not about bahun power, never was, and probably will never be - at least for most people. Don't give them more importance than they deserve, especially if your goal, as you might percieve it to be, is to see power removed from them.

The fault lines of power in Nepal today are based more on class than caste and power is moving steadily downwards on the class scale. Embrace it or get left behind.

The Maoists use indefensibly violent methods, including the torture and killing of non-combatant villagers, and extortion - as does the RNA. But they are not "terrorists" inspired by extremist or Pol Pot-style goals. They articulate, even if in a distorted manner, the ordinary Nepali's aspiration for a minimally tolerable life. The rise of Maoism is rooted in a myriad injustices and grievances. The space it represents cannot be eliminated through physical coercion - but only through land reform, minimum needs programmes in health and education, and a sweeping drive against corruption.

Lets take a look at the other side:

Critics of the dialogue solution might have reservations about bringing the Maoists into mainstream for the fear of a Maoist takeover of Nepal but this doesn’t really hold water, tell me if it does, If the Maoists do take over Nepal it is ridiculous to believe that it would be because of a handful of radical Maoists who want to make the world communist. Since the Maoist ideology will never survive without the support of the masses. As long as the Maoists do not have majority support of the masses, it is difficult to perceive how Nepal will ever become a Maoist state by force.
Can we be arrogant and take Nepal for granted for it has the potential of becoming its own personal Pandora’s box??? <<<< Loote thats the million dollar question !!!! what say people?

fucchemula,
i don't want to delve into things that have already been discussed umpteen times in sajhs already. i just have a question for you though. have you ever questioned yourself, why did maoists insurgency happened in nepal?

hyperthread,
well said. it may be too early to judge maoists. any opinion for or against hence may sound judgmental for now. but looking at how conventional/monolithic communism has been ostracized by the world, i am not at a stage to buy the argument that maoists will lead nepal to a communist republic. look at china, how they have mutated and restructured themselves from conventional communism. they are being more capitalistic nowadays hence the economic prosperity. i hope prachanda, baburam et. al. have learnt a lesson or two from them.

captain,
well done in keeping the 'kaali' racism away from this thread :)
