I like all of the movies........as long as it has a great story. Old hindi movies are just bad..same ol story same ol crap. I like music though.... :-) American movies are good too depending on the story again. I like new ideas ... some are just way too crappy though... I think they make one good movie out of every 10 movies maybe. I haven't had the chance to watch lot of nepali movies......but the once i saw were pretty good.

American movies are overhyped and trendy and not worth spending 8 dollars at theater to see.

Hindi movies are just extremely cheesy and gay.

Nepali movies have goddam Rajesh Hamal or Santosh Pant as stars in each film, so they are not worth watching either.

Movies are pointless. Same shitt all the time, just a different toilet.

hahaha!! I agree with alot of what you say.

American movies ussually totally suck and have stupid stories and the comedies are just trash.

I just watch martial arts movies...but sometimes a really good movie comes out that isnt a martial arts movie and I enjoy it.

Dear Andy and all,

As a new user in sajha, I had tried to demonstrate my movie-critic acumen few days ago...which was miserably unnoticed, perhaps I was not so articulate. Nevertheless, I still want to go ahead and reiterate the thread I created, if it could answer your questions.

Not all movies are bunch of bologne, some are good. Nepalese movies have a way to go, sad thing is that, they are mere copycats, verbatim conversation as indian movies and same stunts and display of histrionics. There are of course some talented bunch of actors and actresses but are bounded by directorial restrictions.

Anyways, here I go:

1. Denzel Washington - In 'courage under fire' as a stressed but nonchalant army officer investigating the death of Meg Ryan and his own shortcomings.

2. Tom Hanks - No one could have portrayed a gullible youth better than him in 'Forrest Gump'

3. Robert de Nero - A malcontented american willing to change the entire system in 'Taxi driver'

4. Nicholas Cage - as an alcoholic in 'Leaving Las Vegas', remember the scene where he takes his last breath while making love to Elizabeth Shue.

5. Kevin Spacey - as a college professor protresting capital punishment in 'Life of David Gale'

6. Edward Norton - as a clever split personality pretender in ' Primal Fear' and as a colorful star of a popular children's television show in 'Death to Smoochy'

7. Matt Damon - as a shrewd con man in ' The talented Mr. Ripley' and a disgruntled youth in 'Good Will Hunting'

8. Ben Kingsley - as a trouble Persian in America in 'House of Sand and Fog'

9. Bill Murray - completely lost in 'Lost in Translation'.

10. Anthony Hopkins - A philosopher gone wrong in ' Silence of the Lambs'

11. Kevin Costner - as a wannabe Indian in 'Dances with the wolves', check out his dance around a bonfire.

12. Tim Robbins - An enigmatic prisoner who astounds everyone with his jailbreak in ' The Shawshank Redemption'

13. Brad Pitt - exhibiting his immaculate Irish accent in 'The devil's own'

14. Johnny Depp - as a bohemian pirate in 'Pirates of the Carrebian'

15. Leonadro de caprio - as Howard Hughes in 'Aviator' and a retarded kid in 'What's eating Gilbert Grape'

16. Sanjeev Kumar - as a rueful loser trying to salvage his lost pride in 'Mausam'

17. Amitabh Bachchan - as a vengeful doctor who later sacrifices himself in the altar of friendship in 'Bemisal'.

18. Aamir Khan - with his witty repartees, high voltage histrionics and out of the world one liners in 'Jo jeeta wohi sikandar' and 'Dil chahta hai'

19. Ajay Devgan - as the most unconventional mafia don in 'Company'

20. Sanjay Dutt - as a young boy in absolute predicament in 'Naam'

21. Nutan - with her vulnerable good looks and acting in 'Bandini'

22. Waheeda Rehman - as a distressed wannabe dancer who fights between love and career in 'Guide'

23. Scarlett Johansson - as a bored wife of a photographer trying to seek friendship and a little more in 'Lost in translation'

24. Kate Blanchett - as Katherine Hepburn in 'Aviator'

25. Julia Stiles - as a budding ballet dancer trying to make it to Juliard in ' Save the last dance'

26. Uma Thurman - as an invincible assassin in 'Kill Bill'

27. Sandra Bullock - in 'Forces of nature'

28. Hillary Swank - as a sexual identity crisis victim in 'Boys don't cry' and a boxing woman backed up by eastwood in ' Million dollar baby'

I think American movies are just as bad of copy cats as any other country. Americans have not made an original movie since forever!! All they od is recycle old movies and rip everyone off!! And then make sequals and sequals and more sequals!! Its dumb!

but why is it that people who are not Americans care so much about American entertainment anyway? Dont you think thats just being a copy cat as well? Just trying to be American and get into their music, their movies and entertainment and knowing their pop culture??

Dear andy,

I understand what you mean, but honestly speaking, where would you find the older versions of Taxi driver or Cramer vs Cramer? Are they really copycats? I believe 90 % of the hollywood movies are made on their own and the reason I like them besides all others is I ENJOY them. Look at the visual effects, look at the sound recording and editing, the background music, everything is so picture perfect. Can you match any movie with Mission Impossible or The last of the Mohicans or simply The big fat liar?

I am Nepalese, I will forever be and I am proud of it, but not when it comes when I see my movies, as someone wrote earlier, I cannot stand to see the loose mane of rajesh hamal or the equivocal Bhuvan KC. I did not mean to offend my fellow audiences, it is mere subjective and a personal belief.

And yes bodmas, I am a fan of Ayn Rand if you are wondering if that name came out of "atlas shrugged"
