Guys
Its time to get our act act together. People taught a lesson to King G and its time for the same people to teach a lesson to the SPA.
King thought the whole country was with him when he took over and now the SPA think the whole country is with them. Its time for all us, who are not motivated by party politics get together.

Trishul, India will never openly invade Nepal. But they will invisibly interfere and exploit us to protect their interests in Nepal. As far as Nepali Tigers.. he he Yeah they will try and do the same to Nepal they did to Sri Lanka(that is the furthest they will go) If you look back at the history of mankind its not so easy to annex a country against their will. Look at Palestine(oocupation by Israel), Afganisthan(occupation by USSR), Iraq(Occupation by US). And if you ask any educated Nepali guys too.. he he they all hate Indians and would like to beat them up too(whats your point ?). I am not necessarily against monarchy. But the fact that Gyaney sat on his ass and did nothing. I see him as a failed King. And I don't see the point of bringing him back knowing that he failed before. Tyo NEPALI BHEDA BUDDHI JUSTO DHIIIT NAGARAU(Would you bring Ken Lay back as Enron's Ceo again ?) . We have to be reasonable.... NOT JUST BLINDLY SUPPORT GYANEY TO SIT ON HIS ASS AND DO NOTHING AGAIN.

We do not want dictatorship or Neo-Nazism ( Maoiest) so king is better than these two as long as king remains as a complete constitutional monarchy.

You talk abt king sitting on his ass and doing nothing but fail to talk abt GPK sitting on his skinny ass and doing all the things that disintegrates the country.
King shouldn't have done anything in the first place. He is in this position not beacause he did nothing, its because he tried too many things.

Do not compare Nepal to Enron or any other company. More than that, it was not the king that failed, but the conscience was lost among us Nepalese including you. The king tried to do his best, but the India and some people from within our country strangled his neck. Believe me, if our country had touched Bangaladesh or the Ocean, the King would have been probably successful. Your logic indicates that he should have been more aggressive which is simply unacceptable to a constitutional monarchy.
You seem to be adamant on your views on king Gyanendra. The constitutional king can never act the way you prefere except when the very existence of the nation is in threat. They should always stay aside from taking any action, because action always carries controversy. As Doofy pointed out before " Nepalese should realize that we owe to the institution of monarchy lot more than what we owe to the political parties. Every Nepalese at least owe their identity to the insitution of monarchy." You accept it or not, but that's hard truth even for you to claim as a Nepalese. Just let the monarchy continue as an unconditional symbol of national unity. If you can not give due respect to the Institute that owe your identity, just keep your mouth close. We can no longer tolerate your hatred.

Doofy, The King is where he is because of his own deeds. If he had the guts to solve the problems of Nepal... he he Nepal would still be a Monarchy to this day. It is his own fault that he lost his crown. You can blame others(they did fuel the flame) like the USELESS POLITICIANS AND THE CORRUPT LEADERS. TO HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

KG's biggest mistake was his selection inept advisors in Bista and Giri. With the oldies behind him, they failed to respond to what the future of the country needed, instead focused on old school panchayat style governance, which DOES NOT WORK. if it were for manhendra with strong nationalistic notion, then, probably, but in an attempt to control everyone's everyday lifestyle, just to avoid corruption, was wrong. he had advisors in his cabinet who only wanted to see him happy, not because his country was heading towards development, but he was told that nepal liked him. half the country didn't like him, and instead to moving towards developing that relationship, he continued his wrong path of just entertaining himself. my answer to the king (whoever that would become or not, or just the head of state) - respect for other people's opinion. just don't toss out someone's idea just because he is not a professor or some party leader. you must also listen to the voices of people. yes, i sent a cd (about 65 minutes long) with my conversation with dinesh right after he sacked Sher Bahadur, about how we can take our country one step ahead. it reached the palace, but never made it pass the gate. i did not even receive an acknowledgment receipt, which everyone gets when something is sent to the palace. how am i going to trust this branch who does not even attempt to make an effort to listen to the youth of nepal.

TRISHUL, If that was his best then his best was not good for the country. I WAS NOT TRYING TO COMPARE ENRON TO NEPAL. I WAS JUST DRAWING AN ANALOGY. NOW WOULD YOU HAVE KEPT KEN LAY AS A CEO EVEN AFTER ALL THE CORRUPTION ? NO I OWE NOTHING TO THE KING. WHAT DID HE DO FOR ME THAT I SHOULD OWE HIM ANYTHING. TAKING CARE OF THE COUNTRY WAS HIS JOB AND HE FAILED. TO ME THAT IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND END OF STORY. WHAT HIS ANCESTER DID FOR THE COUNTRY HAS NO BEAR ON HIM. HE WAS GIVEN THE POWER BY ITS CITIZENS TO TAKE CARE OF THE INSURGENCY AND HE FAILED. TYO LAMBEY CHAUDEY TANERA FACTS LAI NA LUKAU.

pardon me for not going through the postings in this thread but i don't see any relevance in discussing on this topic. i mean who are we kidding? best scenario for nepal would be to formally sign an agreement with the government of india to hand in our foreign affairs, military, and access to water resource for some much needed peace and financial incentive. unless and until we do that, there is no stopping to this monkey game. for the past 15 years india palyed the maoist card, now looks like for the next 15 years its got itself the terai and madesh card, after that it will probably be some sort of religious / ethnic mastermind which will seems like a natural phenomenon in a diverse population like ours.
aint gonna matter who's in or out in nepal. so i say lets give the dhoti mofos what they've been after for a long time and lets go on with our lives. cause if we look at the status quo, we haven't been able to acheive a whole lot by taking care of our own foreign affaris, military, and water resource....anyways
peace

The main reason that I disagree with you is that you want your king to be macho man. This is what the hardliner royalists want. But that does not work in this century.
The queen of England and the king of Japan are respected not because they solved all the problem. They are respected coz they dont interfere with politics, dont have political objectives and are quiet people. King of Thailand is respected the most coz he the most quiet of all. It is not the king but a fully democratic govt that solves all the peoblem of the country.

here is something i got from the internet. Major successes of R&AW
Amalgamation of Sikkim: Bodered by Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and West Bengal in the Eastern Himalayas Sikkim was ruled by a Maharaja. The Indian Government had recognized the title of Chogyal (Dharma Raja) for the Mahraja of Sikkim. In 1972
R&AW was authorized to install a pro-Indian democratic government
there. In less than three years Sikkim became the 22nd State of the
Indian Union, on April 26, 1975. My friends Next topic in a near future: Amalgation of Nepal: Bordered by Bihar, West Bengal and Tibet, Nepal was ruled by a Maharaja. The Indian Government had recognized the title of Maharajadhiraj for the Shah rulers of Nepal. In 2008
R&AW was authorized to install a pro-Indian democratic government
there. In less than three years Nepal became the 29th State of the
Indian Union, in Janaury 26, 2010.

If India is to bring chaos in Nepal, will it be able to save itself out of the burning flame given its open boarder and also religious, cultural and political proximity? I don't believe China will be a slient viewer if India tries to attack over the Nepalese sovereinty. Doesn't India understand what is going on in Darjling now a days, forget about Sri Lanka, Bhutan whatever?
Let's not be so much pessimistic. Now we are in the democratic era. In fact, this is high time to discuss about the modality of federalism and political structure in Nepal but not the continuation of kingship. Even we can not revert the political process that has already gone very far. In the transitional period, people do express their own prospectives but it will gradually take a shape. Every section of the soceity wants its agenda included. It is not bad too. Lets think about the prosperous future of Nepal. Forget the King and his entourages. They had nothing to deliver but the hollow nationalism that never let Nepalese rise above the poverty. They are tyring to throw the same card now too but it will never work as Nepalese have already understood. They cannot cheat Nepalese people anymore.
As far as political leaders and SPA are concerned, we cannot say they are very much competent. But every Nepalese has chance to be a leader if he or she is competent enough, then why should we vent our speen over them only? Sirak bhitra bata aula thadyauna and criticize garna jaslai pani sajilo hunchha, maidan ma kam garna garho hunchha. Isn't that we who made leaders like the leaders we have now?

Copicat,
Forget about china hoping that it'll intervene if the sovereignity of Nepal is in stake. India has Dalai Lama and the Tibetan issue as a TURUP to bargain with China. Forget about US or other countries that you think might India be afraid of. India has already become a super power and a market of billion affording population. No one would dare to risk their relation with India. Above that Nepal is not Kuwait where there's oil. USA does not have any interest in Nepal. My point is that Cowards who think to protect their nation in the mercy of outsiders should not claim themselves as a Nepali. All patriot Nepalese must realize now that the only rational for India to create all these havocs in Nepal is to make it a failed state, so that it can install a name-sake government and declare amalgamation to the Indian union by a pawn assembly. I have repeatedly argued that Indian still believe that Nepal is a leftover from their federal union. For your kind information, they did the same thing in Sikkim. They first erect a so called popular constituent assembly and declare Republic first and then promulgate annexion to India by non other than the elected assembly by the so called Sikkimise. So called Sikkimise in the sense that the whole process was a drama like that going on in present day Nepal. Indians in the name sikkimise elected the Sikkimise Indian kuttas like Gidde prasad and Prachande. They do all this high profile drama to legitimize their strategy so that they can say it's the decision made by the people of Nepal. It took only three years to annex Sikkim, probably it may take a decade or longer, but the ultimate fate is the same. No doubt, we are in a historical turn around and silence is going to claim our Identity.

i myself am a very optimistic person. but i think indian takeover of nepal is inevitable, whether in my lifetime or the next. it's just a matter of time. well, nepal may not be rich in oil (current energy resource), but very very rich in future resources - hydro, wind and nuclear. west nepal is one of the richest deposits of uranium, but nepal is too far behind in technology to exploit it - and by any means, the chinese, the indians and the west aren't going to help us in any way to mine them. hydro - we all know about that. wind - the dolpo and mustang region gets wind gusts almost every moment, and the region is isolated and huge for any wind projects. there are wind turbines that produces 5mw each. i think any country's forceful take over will certainly be stopped by other countries. however, we might just ask the indian government to enter the country, to which the west and the chinese won't be able to do anything. nepal is militarily very strategic country. we have mountains made of granite. any borrows made within cannot be seen by any modern technology. the best place for hiding anything. just like the chinese are doing in tibet. so, my take is that we should just focus on the new development. i think the parliament's declaration is illegal. the change of system should have been promulgated after the election of CA or refferendum. i don't think any of the SPA (except MKN), will accept it because of what happened in 2036. so CA it is, so we must and should wait for the CA to form and then declare and endorse republic. but, i think the policy makers should understand federal republic before making nepal one.

king seems a national unity. did he really good? I dont say excellent but he did good job. But most of the time he is against democracy. So do we need to go after parties? Yea we should. But how we can trust them since they have to meet indian ambassador before any vital decision? It seems they are just indian pucchar, waging where indian wants. Nepal, next sikkim, please dont tell me. I want to live as a Nepali, die as a Nepali. I saw one blog with same issue, next sikkim is nepal. just copy and paste.

We discussed much about it. Everybody may have his/her own perpective, it is open forum. To be diversity in opinions is not bad thing. I believe Republic Nepal will be peaceful and prosperous. I see Nepal's brighter future. My wishlist includes:
- Within a year, the CA election will be held
- Within 2 years, new constitition will be promulgated. Most of the issues raised by Madheshis, ethincal groups and various walk of the society will be included in the constition.
- Within 3 years, we will form a newly elected government; Maoist will be one of the parties participating in the election. They will totally renouce voilance.
- Nepal will be a federal country with powerful central government and decentralized and de-regulated local governments
- Within 5 years, at least 5 major hydro-projects will be in the verge of completion. We will be gradually replacing the dependency in fossil fuels. The present king will be one of the major investors in the hydroprojects.
- We will have adequate schools, universities, heathcenters and hospitals, and the government will announce health for everybody program and free education for everyone within 7 years
- Within 7 years, Nepal will be one of the best tourist destinations in the world; the flow of tourists will reach at least 2.5 to 3 millions per annum.
- Within 10 years, our unemployments rate will be less than 5%
- Within 15 years, Nepal will be Switzerland of Asia and it will be a financial hub of Asia too.
and so on.......
Poolko aankha ma phoolai sansar.........
If you have any wishlist, please....................................this is the right choice baby...

HAHA.. day dreaming ..ani dialogue phool ko ankha ma..Let me tell you few flaws in your day dream. 1.CA within a year? are you kiddin ?Full proportional should be There and for that forget about CA for next 5 years. 2.So it take 1 full year after CA (your CA)to write a freaking constitution? In this pace the whole country has no direction? 3.So it takes 2 full year after election to form a hanging govt. cause no one if there is election going to have majority and as history repeats itself again sell and buy of MP. 4. Nepal will be a federal country with powerful central government and decentralized and de-regulated local governments..wrong buddy ..federal govt is going to be so weak after giving power of self determination.Decentalization was always there ..the problem was implementation ..There is no perfect decentral policy that suits Nepal "bikendrikaran" 5.King will be investor ?oh ya instead of packing back and investing where their is return he is going to invest in country where we see clearly major labor problem and which 5 hydro projects?and how much Nepalese are getting (if )after completion? 6.OK schools are there just not affordable for poor nepalese. 7. Tourist destination..It is ..i give you that ..even kTM is oneof the polluted city people still come. 8.Financial hub ???in what basis- what resource?what infrastructure? and with major labor problem like West bengal. biggest joke - switzerland , singapore ..lets make it switzepore

CopiCat wishes: I believe Republic Nepal will be peaceful and prosperous. I see Nepal's brighter future.
Every Nepali wishes like this, and even KG wishes like this.
CopiCat's wishlist includes:
- Within a year, the CA election will be held
Too optimistic wishlist. Last 20 month shows that it won't happen. By now Maoists might be preparing to have another demand to postpone CA election, but they are overtaken by Terai-Madeh Loktantrik Party, and now is their turn to deman, and CPNM will will have hard time to convince them. CPNM will again leave government. There was a very effective cartoon on KOL: Oath for CPNM was: not to resign in the face of election.
- Within 2 years, new constitition will be promulgated. Most of the issues raised by Madheshis, ethincal groups and various walk of the society will be included in the constition.
Within two years, Maoists will find their destination only in Pahad. Prachanda will have heart attack.
- Within 3 years, we will form a newly elected government; Maoist will be one of the parties participating in the election. They will totally renouce voilance.
Maoists will capture Pahad and Himal, and all those who don't like Maoists will move to South and fight back against Maoists.
- Nepal will be a federal country with powerful central government and decentralized and de-regulated local governments
Nepal will be fragmented country, and a new Bhutan if not New Sikkim.
- Within 5 years, at least 5 major hydro-projects will be in the verge of completion. We will be gradually replacing the dependency in fossil fuels. The present king will be one of the major investors in the hydroprojects.
The Bharatiya Gulami Government of Nepal will let India build dams and reservoirs and used by Indian citizens.
- We will have adequate schools, universities, heathcenters and hospitals, and the government will announce health for everybody program and free education for everyone within 7 years.
In those schools, Sare jahase achha, Hindustan Hamara will be taught.
- Within 7 years, Nepal will be one of the best tourist destinations in the world; the flow of tourists will reach at least 2.5 to 3 millions per annum.
All tourist destinations will be overrun by Indian hoteliers or their chains. current Nepalis will be bahadur, and cleaning Juthha Bhada.
- Within 10 years, our unemployments rate will be less than 5%
Nepalis will be Bahadur in Indian households all over India. Majority of them were displaced by new Republic Nepal.
- Within 15 years, Nepal will be Switzerland of Asia and it will be a financial hub of Asia too.
Hahahahha..... Kya Mara. Dream is dream, bro. That will happen in some websites: NepalSwitzerlandOfAsia.com
and so on.......
A few Nepalis who were successful in gettig into US land will file for refugee status.
Good Luck, Bro. I wish your wish list comes true.

Whatever copicat said could be true if all of us will return back to our own country with resources we gathered from foreign land. You don't have to participate in politics to develop a nation. You can do from where you stand. Once a doctor said, in one of his interview with Bijaya Kumar, that every Nepal knows politics but not his respective job. Do know your job and do it well..........................
