If you think about the population of bauns - they only represent 10-12 % of the total population ( less than chhetris who are around 20%). Yet you see bauns occupying all govt positions and getting involved in corruptions. Majority of people caught by CIAA were bahuns. They not only extract money doing traditional work of worshiping and collecting daan(which only bauns are said to be doing) but have occupied all political positions too which the other casts have learnt to despise. We as chhetris grew up hearing politics is dirty. It may be true for other casts too. But not for bahuns because their forefathers were always involved in daan collecting business. So taking bribes is never dirty for them. I am reminded of the same situation many years ago when bauns occupied politics in Tamil Nadu. Then came the united non bauns as DMK (leaded by Ramachandran) with nothing else but basically just anti baun slogans and have made the bauns vanish now. The DMK has been winning for several years now just on the basis of anti baun rallying. One day Nepal may see the same change and the country may be purified of all the poisons harming Nepal.
