Hi Folks,

Recently I read "Leaving Microsoft to Change the World". It truly touched my heart. I had heard that it was translated in Nepali too as "माईक्रोसफ्ट देखी बाहुन्डाँडा सम्म" .   The author of this book John Wood is really a man who has guts to leave such lucrative job in Microsoft and will and kind heart to create an organization who helps children to go to school.

I also think sometime that I would also establish some libraries in my village but it is just a thinking so far. God knows I will be able to fulfill this wish or not. But Wood is really a hero.  This person should be recognised by Nepal Government too by giving him Gorkha Dachhinbaahu....etc.... But who cares in Nepal such good thing.

Sometimes I think Nepal's present situation is because of politics in every every field. There is not a single field left without political biasness.

This is my random thinking. Therefore writing is also random..  Please post your random thought too if you wish.   If anybody wish to know more about John Wood, here is the link:  www.roomtoread.org

Thanks

I've been to some of the libraries of Room To Read. The Room to Read library uses a small but well managed room of the rural schools. The schools and the kids are very excited. The guy is great.

I also tried to find out any free pdf format of this book on net but I could get only preview of each chapter of this book in one site. That only tempted me to read more. I forgot that site.  So I borrowed from my neighborhood library. We nepali are not so book lover at first and if we are, then very miser about buying books (and that includes me too). Just become a neighborhood library member it costs nothing.............

Cheers

MXYZ and others,

I finished the Nepali version of John Reed's book, Leaving Microsoft to change the World. Man ! its so inspiring and changed my whole perspective of service and national development. As such, I was always motived from within to go back to Nepal and start such projects, this book has touched me deep inside and urged me to start something right away. I've never read such a inspirational book in my life. I'm really bowled over by the humbleness, passion and sacrifice of Mr. Reed in order to have taken such a giant step in alleviating the suffering of so many people around the world who could do better in life just with education.

Education is the foundation of human development and it fosters understanding, kindness and common sense and most importantly a strong will power, Yes we can.

For those who're looking for online version of the book, you wouldn't be able to find even in Room to Read website. Barners and Noble sells this book online, though English version only.

You can Try the recent Madan Puraskar Winner , Antarmako Yatra by Jagdish Ghimire which is another inspirational add-on.

Guys let's give your hand, what we can do is  we start collecting some sajha funds, initially we could be 10-20 people to collect some funds and run free school to those kids who are talent but couldn't afford to go to good school, let's invest for science and technologies. What we can do is we provide free technical schooling to kids, but request to their parent to work for volunteering, such as construct road & building, canal to provide irrigation, help in farming, ultimately we will get sufficient funds to run school from their labor (Let’s say we have 1000 kids, we request their parents to volunteer at least 5 days in a month, after all we have 166 people to work every day to volunteer, what else? We can even build toll road or canal or any manufacture industries).   We need to start thinking something, Government of Nepal is sucks. We have to aware people and lighten them. I think Sajha.com can organize and come of with this idea. If we honestly organize and rise fund we even can produce Sajha hydro power or Sajha School, or Sajha investment or sajha farming etc,,,, there are lot of things we can start up...... but need to show our motivation.  Let's be at least 50 people, each of us rise $20-30K, how much we will have $1.5 million which is equal to Rs 117,000,000.00

Let double or triple our number then think why we can’t produce hydro-power and sell it.

great idea dude !..just dont go for partnership !...earn yourself and invest yourself....dont go for others...if you go for other Nepalese, you wont be success always !...i had a very hard time coz' i started with same idea earlier! now these days, I personally donate children of my sole organization ! what can I do?....I started and now i have to finish!...i love those children you know !
