For the same reason that we "observe" Christmas here in America and stay home that day even when I am a Hindu. And on top Nepal govt gives holiday on Christmas even when the entire population that observes is less than 2 percent.

dashain dhoon is playing bcoz it's dashain time, Nepalese greatest festivals. it is generalized for nepali not specialized for hindu, christian, muslims, buddhist etc. every nepalese and every human is welcome except some jerk from sajha.

I for one don't see a need to ban. You and I might not agree with his post, but that doesn't mean it should be banned. Posts that we don't agree with stimulate discussion. As long as they are genuine questions and not troll posts to just seek attention, I don't see why that's a bad post.

I don't celebrate any religion nor any doctrine. Everyday is just a regular day for me. I'm not an atheist either. I just want to be as someone who just took a birth, pure form before he/she is brainwashed to put into a belief system. I realize there is some divine force in play, and I can't differentiate it with different names that we find in different religions. That divine force is shapeless,nameless,sexless but I do feel is it's existence. Just as you feel the breeze while you are walking by the beach. It's everywhere. That doesn't mean I go on crushing others belief. It's their free will as much as I have my own. Let them have their own part of their reality they want to have. Why be pathetic and indulge into fight like stray dogs do in the street?

Playing music or any kind on the site, it's site owners sole decision and there's always a way to mute it. You always have an option.

nepalilaurey, you are referencing my views to some movie scripts, I've no idea if it's coincidental. But it's been over 2 decade I haven't seen any Nepalese movies. I've posted some links of Nepalese movies right here on sajha, but I've never watched them myself.

Everyday is same for me, that I don't even realize if it's dashain, if it's tihar, if it's christmas, or any other festivals. In fact, I look at the sky and then look at the faces of ppl, it's the happy faces that I see. Why do you need to be reserved and occupied rest of the months and then be overly happy and let go only on few days a year? See that's what a belief system does. You deserve to be happy and free every single day. To be honest with you, you exist only to be happy. Happiness is the sole reason you spend your entire life to get it. Stop believing some books, belief in self, stop holding onto your possession, spend few on homeless or those who need, stop judging others, introspect yourself, and be happy. Problem is ppl are running after someone to find that happiness.

Bittertruth, It is good to know that you are living a life that many people consider only a theoretical possibility and some people may consider as an ideal life.

For me, the quest for happiness gives an energy to move forward. I will be happier tomorrow when today's unhappiness and failure will turn into success. I would be waiting for Christmas after Thanksgiving and Halloween are over, same as waiting to celebrate tihar after dashain is over and wait for shivaratri after tihar is over. Actually I am planning to move from a place where we have a year round same 'pleasant' season to a place where seasons actually change. And, highest aim in life is to become a Brahman. I know that I may not be able to achieve that highest level in my whole life, but I should always try to go near it. When I am one step up I will be happier than before. I don't think we need to consider it a problem, it is animal (not only human) nature.

Divorceguy, dashain mangal dhun is playing all over the streets in Nepal but that does not mean that the streets are only for Hindus.
