REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Dec 27:
At a time when Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority
(CIAA) has filed a corruption case against six high-ranking officials of
NAC, including executive chairman Sugat Ratna Kansakar, tourism
entrepreneurs have stood in support of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)
management that placed orders for two new aircraft.

CIAA has filed a case against the six officials at Special Court,
accusing them of misusing Rs 57.3 million while sending lock-up money to
aircraft manufacturer Airbus.

This is not right!!!  We don't know the inside story , but we can certainly see what's happening there.

Kansakar was the one who changed Nepali Telecom Industry. If you don't believe it, you gotta compare the progress before/after his departure. He was taken to NAC after seeing the success in Telecom Industry. People like Keshab Stapit and SR Kansakar can not stay long in any top posts.

What the hell with NAC? This is the consiparcy of  Limbu and Associates to get commission from Boeing. Yes, "Nepal  is a Satile Sarapeko Desh".  Don't you guys see why NAC (Limbu and Associates) is denying to send  A/C number for AirBus? Why'd they do that?

Yeah, Kansakar was the right man to take some bold steps. He took a decision to buy aircrafts from AirBus because they quoted the lowest. So what's wrong with that?  Now.. the deal is cancelled; he is in jail.  Airbus agreed  to send back the advance money but they are asking for interest. What's the intention?

Tikijhyaa
Get your facts straight before you accuse someone. Kansakar was trying to the right thing by giving lock up money to whoever quoted the lowest price for aircraft. Ppl who did not like this decision and went against him to Akthiyaar are the ones who were benifiting from the situation before he arrived. That is, they used to rent worst condition airplanes and eat up the rest of money as commission.

This is what happens in Nepal if you try to develop a nation. Nepal needs no development. Let us suffer, we are against change.

Another most ridiculous thing is without knowing anything, we run after whatever the newspaper writes. To what extent do you believe in Nepali news. Twisted news have made us so stereotyped that we love to turn deaf ears to truth.

Mr. Kansakar is a very talented and un-selfish man. We need people like him if we want to see our country heading towards direction of developement.

I agree with syandai. Who knows the inside story. We are always misguided my netas, news, etc and always reach the conclusion without thinking outside the box.
I just read the news where DPM offer bribe to sign the deal. May be kansakar wasnt guilty , maybe no one has guts to point to both DPM.
As we can go back to history, who has ever got punished for scam.? It will be always soja saja ppl who doesnt have political connection.

Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Gachchhadar offered bribe to PAC member: US cable

Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar allegedly offered bribe to a member of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to support Nepal Arilines’ bid to buy Airbus aircraft earlier this year, a cable sent by US Embassy in Kathmandu revealed.

“A close Embassy contact on the PAC recently alleged that Gachchhadar offered him a bribe to support the deal and even threatened the PM that he would pull his party out of government if the Airbus deal did not go through,” reads a confidential cable leaked by Wikileaks.

I even read news airbus was ready to return the deposited money, and NAC indeed got the letter but that letter was made gayeb b4 reachuing media.
And if you check the price of plane, it has almost doubled by now. His mistake was that he told in the media that he has trapped the government by signing the deal which is his dumbness, should have used diplomacy to deal with the issue.

This incident reminds me of ARUN hydro[power III which got canceled with no reason, See the country is facing power crisis, should have that been bulit at that time,  power crisis

This man is innocent. Boeing even refunded NAC's m1oney already, there's no reason to lock him up. Nepal ma 1 million tourists lyaune bhae NAC needs to have a fleet of at least 10 international jets, tara aba boeing ko price pani 2 billion le badisakyo. Baru tyo park garirako plane bata karodau ko samaan chorne KB Limbu lai chai jhundyaunu parcha.
